  1. how about the artist formally known as rockhopper ?
  2. Agreed mate. 27 years old leaves a wife and one year old daughter. Just dosen't seem right does it? RIP Paul
  3. ah the power of the internet...you can feel the love in the room now !!!
  4. Don't know of any where that directly advertises that dan, but a couple of years back when i was touring wales with my road bike, i rang the tourist board who were able to come up with a list of places that had secure overnight parking etc also were bike friendly. Did the same for southern ireland the year after...so my bet would be fire off an email to the tourist board mate.
  5. Try a night out in Blackpool....you have the potential to experience all of that in one night !
  6. classic for anyone who's married !
  7. What we've had over the last few weeks is a thread saying.. "where is it ?" followed by "its shut" followed by "no its not, i was there on saturday" Judging by the number of people who have ridden there recently, i would guess that its still open but someone needs to put this to bed once and for all. ....and for the record..i've no idea where it is either!
  8. Do you know anywhere that sells it in the UK (not fleabay)?
  9. Nice job on the kawasaki mate...lovely looking piece of kit
  10. Join a club......i was in the same boat as you about 3 months ago. I went with Darwen Mcc as they have a beginers series. Lancs county mcc probably nearest to you not sure if they do beginers but lots of venues around kirkby lonsdale area. Bolton mcc also have beginers series. Practise is a bit grim unless you know a friendly farmer/landowner (and if you do p.m please !!!!)...nearest legal venue back cowm quarry near rochdale. Bit of a drive but only a tenner for all day. hope that helps
  11. my first trial...last....by 58 points second trial....finished 3rd look for the beginners stuff, get practising and be prepared to fall off a lot...I do!
  12. Just wanted to add...i did the dead easy trial on the saturday and it was brilliant. Very well organised cracking venue and everyone was really friendly. If youre just starting out then Manchester 17's dead easy series is definately worth the drive. well done folks
  13. Ok its coming together now...the bears are still ****ting in the woods....but thats because of the beer yeah?!
  14. I'm with Andy on this one.......if you think you can do better peeeps....then get off your fat ass and do it !!
  15. One bear too many?? That sounds a bit dangerous for me !
  16. Would a 'trials central' reply to the piece be the way to go. As has been noted on this thread already there are some well thought out points being raised by a broad cross section of the trials community already....which i presume were the type of viewpoints the ACU wanted in the first instance. If Andy or whoever wanted to put the salient points in an email to TMX i'd gladly offer my support as i think others would too. As a newbie i'm not entirely sure of all the points being raised but could give a 'new to the sport' perspective as others who have been trialing for decades could provide their views Some healthy intelligent debate in the pages of TMX would also help to raise the profile of the website with its readership.
  17. I was at the jim sandiford trial on sunday and noticed there was a lot of 4rt's competing. As well as quite a few expert riders, i noticed just how many novices were on mont's. Now this got me thinking as i always had the 4 rt down as a bit of an expert's bike - bit of a fire breathing monster - so am i way of the the mark here or is it a good bike for a novice ?
  18. Brought happiness to millions with his enthusiasm so leaves a great legacy of which his family can be rightly proud. crazy
  19. my fault for not being clearer...have a look at www.cowmleisure.com for directions, but roughly its in the north west of england near Rochdale about 20 or so miles from manchester I've only been doing trials for a few months too and this place has been useful for me and its a good bunch of people who i've met there too.
  20. not at the moment but as this is their living it has to be financially viable. They are also , i presume, unaware of what enforcements the HSE may make.
  21. Firstly i have no connection with back cowm whatsoever apart from turning up paying my tenner and riding my bike.... I went at the weekend and spoke to one of the chaps who runs it. I am aware that there is an inquest ongoing and do not wish to comment about it and suggest we all avoid that particular point for the time being. However the guys who run the place are evidenty quite depressed about the current situation and do not know what the future holds for them. They are however, in my humble opinion, trying to run a quality, legal and enjoyable practise area for us to use. With the potential demise of addingham moorside this place (MORE THAN EVER) needs our support or we will lose this too....and i dont know about you but my back garden aint big enough to practise on... So if you go,tell them youre 100% behind them If you haven't been...go...its 200 acres and there's something there for everyone And remember its only a tenner for crying out loud....or 2 packets of fags or 4 pints or a quarter of what it would cost to go the footie or whatever scenario you want to use...please feel free to let me know if there is anything else where you can have that much fun for a day with your clothes on ! ....for a tenner !! use it or lose it. I remember watching a tv interview years ago when a prominant high court judge was being interviewed about fox hunting. He was adamant that it would not be banned as there were so many influential people who supported the cause. The last time i looked there were not that many judges doing trials (if you'll pardon the pun) Anyroadup i'll stop rambling on....I promised the guy i would put a message of support on trials central and then tell him what sort of response i got next time i saw him...so if you agree or disagree or have any other opinion then please post on this thread... thanks
