  1. Thanks Slapshot, it is a nice bike, I own it since long time ago and don
  2. Hi: I pretend to race with this bike in the next Scottish Pre-65, last year I burned the ignition where beaking down is a nightmare; Meall Na Cruaidhe, fortunately it has now a good ignition fixed. I have the next the next troubles with it; 1.- Rear mudguard, I can not find an alloy rear mudguard for this bike, they are either short, too wide or too narrow. This one is built out of 2 plastic bultaco mudguards, but would like to put something more original. Maybe Spain is not the place to look for this mudguard. 2.- Is there any webb where to buy sprockets for it?? It is slightly "short" for me. 3.- Something apparently easy, as making the fork soft in the beginning and hard in the end, is becoming a headache. The front mudguard hits the front of the frame sometimes. Ok I weight 90 kilos, but I have tried the combination of SAE 10, 15 and 20 and 2, 3 and 4 cm. compression in the spring with no results. Any tip?? Maybe a long diet is the secret.... Thanks in advance.
  3. This is exactly the work you have to do. Choose model and adapt it.
  4. I know you did not intend to offence. Don
  5. What about this one for the Enfield?? Puma Racing engine, a very good bike....... Jon rode his Francis Barnett.
  6. Kinell you know you did. We all know about how much all this work cost, but here in Spain it is considered "rude" to tell the others . You have to options, first do them yourself (you will need good mechanical skills + time + tools + space + .......) and second let another person do it for you, in this last option you will need to add of course the working time of the mechanic, and good ones can be very expnsive. There is another sub - option, that is to take out the ideas you like from this bike and gradually introduce them in your bike. Cheaper than the other 2.
  7. Sorry, my English is not so good, made a mistake. front exhaust pipe is strictly original but has been bended slightly to prevent it touching the modified tank and burning it. Maybe this makes it looks longer in the front. There is a gap of arround 1 cm. between the tank and the exhaust, normally this rebuilt (narrower) tanks touch the exhaust and at last loose petrol there. Pay attention to the swingarm......... Setting is in Segovia, lovely place indeed
  8. Hi bilc0, inside the cylinder just the transfers opened (maybe "rounded" is more correct) a little. Have you started the countdown for Robregordo?? We will have a special event there for the 50 years of Bultaco.
  9. Yes, it is the one you rode arround Berrocal, as you didn
  10. You need to work in the Betor sliders to modify them and fix the clamps. Correct, rear mudguard is striclty original, some time spend to cut it properly. (and some mudguards spoilt while learning)
  11. 1.- Rear box; yes single outlet and modified interior to allow an easy exhaust. 2.- WRONG. The chassis is strictly original, maybe you think that because of the paint in the tank. 3.- YES, with modified position, slightly rear. 4.- It is the original ona but slightly shorter. 5.- Yes, to make the forks more "rigid". 6.- Yes, to reduce vibrations in the hole "thing". 7.- Just a PHBH that actually existed when this bike also existed, not illegal. 8.- Yes, Mick Andrews design and development (sorry no publicity permited). 9.- Yes, the seat is a modification of the original one. 10.- Home made chain guard. There are some more. Nothing that you can
  12. Here it is; THE BEAST. Interesting to see the opinions about modified Pre-65 and Twinshocks in http://www.trialscentral.com/forums/index....mp;#entry155535 May be funny to see how many differences would you find in a series bike and in this Puma Racing 340....... Here goes the easy one: - The front mudguard is a GasGas. Try more......
  13. Too many bikes there...... you need to make some space....... maybe one Matchless lessss makes enough space for you to move arround. I am quite busy this days, but will post some photos soon of my new weapon for the Spanish Champ. starting in Mallorca island next 2nd. March. A completely rebuilt Bultaco 340 Puma Racing. A beast not even Vesterinen would had ever dreamed to drive something like that......
  14. Big John: Where do you hide that bike??? It is not in your garage. Maybe under your bed???
  15. That is one of the bikes I dream with every night. Fantastic
  16. This big giraffe bulls are also very dangerous, as they are very territorial, fast and can quick you with any of their four legs. Be ready to fly away.
  17. That is true , but it is also true that when you find big "consumers" riding a trials bike such as spotted hyenas, leopards or lions, you run as fast as you can one way, and the "consumer" also run as fast as he cans, but in the opposite way. Bikes smell and sounds too bad, better to run away. Big thread are buffalos and elephants. Better not to ride in the areas they normally use. Elephants can chase you for miles and miles and can run up to 40-50 km/h. Buffalos are quite shy, allways run away when in groups. Big, old, alone males (mbogos) are the dangerous ones, arrogant animals. Hippos are also dangerous and extremely fast in the ground, but impossible to find them certain hours certain places, sunset and sunrise avoid river or lake banks. Belive me it is very safe when you know where you are riding of course. TooFastTim, it is an Impala as you say, springboks don
  18. Kenya is a country very close to me, it's my second home. For many reasons I have spent in the bushes three of the last fifteen years of my life, that is a 20% of my recent life. Among the things I have enjoyed in Kenya is of course trials, not competition trials, but adventure trials, long trials routes that have led me to enjoy fantastic places, spectacular scenery, unforgettable moments and great friends. Now Kenya is going through a bad time, and some friends there are struggling. Kenya also exists for trials.
  19. Dabdab: The village is called Segovia before the romans invaded Spain 20 centuries ago, so I presume the guitarrist got his surname from the town and not the other way.... Aniway I found the bike in a restaurant
  20. Those photos from the 250 - 4 stroke Sherpa are from last Cabrianes 2 days classic trial, last October. I could see that bike in some sections, and can say it is a good bike. Di not get a ride, as there was a long queue of pilots wishing to try it. The photos posted by swooshdave where posted long time ago in todotrial forum, and it looks that bike is a prototype built by an austrian quite recently.
  21. I wish I could find one like that at the same price. It looks a first series as the kit has Rathmell
  22. Girls bike??? Not in southern Europa and 20 years ago, here it was a good option to move inside the city. It was not pink, it was blue......
  23. Hi Slapshot: It is a long story, but I can tell you that bike was in the ebay for a long time as "unidentified motorcycle" arround 5 years ago, with a photo of it sharing space with some cows. Funny to see your father rided it and even won with it. Maybe that bike should return to Scotland. BJ, maybe Mr. Forbes never got the letter?? Who knows.
  24. Oh no, only trials bikes admitted in my house, no limit, but only trials. I must admit I like very much the first Fronteras and Matador, but I had an accident in Madrid in a Vespa 20 years ago when a taxi driver choosed crashing on me instead crashing on a bus, and I promised myself to use only trials bikes.
