  1. Yes, more Bultaco pics. This is my model 10, I bought it quite cheap in Scotland (and quite destroyed too), where nobody wanted it. Raced the SSDT 1965 to 1967. "You sit on it and you feel at home" True, as I keep it in the sitting room of my country house. My model 49, a 3rd. series. Nice little bike. Model 91. With this bike have raced the last 2 years the Spanish classic champ. And my favourite, the bike I used 30 years ago to win in the Dos Castillas y Leon champ, also raced with it some world champ. races. Big John raced with it 3 years ago in Robregordo.
  2. Absolutely fantastic bultaco49. I agree that Kit makes those bikes the most beautillull of all trials bikes (we calle Kit when the tank and seat are together). You sould put something between the end of the rear mudguard and the swingarm to prevent mud and water and specially dust, as that gap can make the wheel to fill the inside part of the kit of it, exactly where the air bow is. Aniway enjoy it next 23.
  3. Classic trials calendar?? That would be great. Here are some I have raced and can say are very good: *24-25 Mey - Robregordo 2 days classic - Madrid 14-15 June - Rochepaule 2 days classic - France *14-15 June - Highland Pre-65 and Twinshock - Inverness - Scotland *19-20 September - Pobladura 2 days classic - Leon - Spain *October (firs weekend I think) - Ventoux 2 days Classic - Provence - France (raced by teams of 3 pilots) *October (last weekend) - Cabrianes 2 days classic - Barcelona - Spain October - Vielles Tiges 2 days classic. *December - Calvi
  4. Hi DabDab, at the moment I have no photos of the inside of a Bultaco exhaust improved. As soon an we open one I will post them. (I say "we" as I have someone who does it for me, I give the "orders" and he cuts, weld etc..... it is imposible for me to do that properly). Wll try to explain it a little, but my English is not so good. Basically you have to open and completely empty them. Then fill it with a drilled pipe that must be welded inside (the diameter varies if it is a 250, 325 or 340) and a good special fiber glass or any other sound absorver. In the big box of some of the final silencers in the last Bultaco
  5. Fantastic restoration 348mate
  6. It is the first time I hear about this Bultaco exhaust. To open and repare a Bultaco exhausts is not easy, and it is one of the main problems of the engine not working properly (with the ignition), so I can understand many paople buying this item. In the other hand, Bultaco exhausts are very good when you know what to do inside, and how to modify them to improve it. But aniway not easy at all.
  7. I think B.E. will be using it at Robregordo, as he wants a 250.
  8. Here is my last restoration project just finished this weekend. It has taken me over 2 years to complete it, as this bike is almost made of spare parts. I just had engine and frame, and all the other has been build up from parts. The complete exhaust was a present from a friend. Airbox a spare I had from a 151, forks bought in the internet....... carb. is a new Keihin (perhaps the most expensive part I have bought for this bike), wheels bought in a classic bike show, sidestand from a 199A...... Engine with a new electronic ignition, clutch, piston and the transfers made to make more "explosive". I am quite happy with it after making the first sections this weekend. Last photo is a footrest macro in their modified position.
  9. This year is the 50th. aniversary of Bultaco CEMOTO 1958-2008. Trials bikes started to be built in 1964 with the first 3 prototypes of the Model 10 "Sammy Miller". Happy birthday, and thanks for so many trials enjoyed. Thanks BJ for this pics, it would be nice to see more Bultaco photos here.
  10. Less restrictive I think both Castillas (Castilla Leon & Castilla La Mancha) and Arag
  11. Law is changing here every day. A headache. It depends on the community you are. In Madrid it is illegal to ride outside a highway, in Castilla Leon it is legal on the wet months, in Catalu
  12. feetupfun: This 348 brochure brings me very good memories. It was the first bike I used in the Spanish Campionship, and when I went to use the new bike for the first time (I was arround 15 years old), I was not strong enough to start it, and a pilot from Switzerland, Patrick Ludgerens that was there in that moment, started the bike for me. Mexbiker; I have found that workshop manual you want. Obviously in Spanish, I have talked with a shop here in Madrid that have a lot of manuals and they got a Workshop Manual about the 5 Speed Montesas Engines. 28 Euros in www.libromotor.com Check the oil in the engine, and If it does not leak, do not change the seals. But if it does, or you have got to open the engine for any other reason, then change them.
  13. Spoilt???? This friend lives for and only thinks in trials. 198B is a rare bike in Spain, as they where only 250 bikes made, and all of them exported, not even one stayed in Spain. Maybe the next Federation President, we have elections soon...... and maybe that number 95 model 108B in the first photo comes soon to his museum.....
  14. BJ, I had lunch yesterday with my friend that wants the 198B. He is desperate, the only Spanish trials bikes he is missing in his museum.
  15. Thanks. That places are so green, you lucky people. Fantastic bikes.
  16. Hi from Spain Mexbiker. Being in Mexico you must know some Spanish, in Todotrial you have the complete 348 manual in Spanish: http://www.todotrial.com/ttclasico/manuale...nualcota348.htm My advise is you start with the next; 1.- Check Ignition and plug, (pionts, coils, condenser, advance) untill you get a nice spark. 2.- Check Clutch 3.- Engine oils 4.- Clean carburettor, interior tank and fuel valve. 4.- Change front brake, throttle and clutch cables. 5.- Chain 6.- Brakes shoes 7.- Check and change fork oil. 8.- Spokes I would then change the handlebar as it looks bent in the photo, and the throttle (it looks an old Mototecnica for enduro). Check bearing, seals etc. etc. and change shocks if they don
  17. EdHolland: Have a look to the photos posted by TooFastTim. Those shocks absorvers are the "Hidrobags". There where called so, (basically) as the brown rubber part you can see in the top of the shocks, was the chamber where the oil expanded when the shocks where in compression, as the rubber also expanded, that made those shocks more soft and progressive. They where fragile shocks, but quite revolutionary and good for those times.
  18. Hi John Collins: Actually we are working in Robregordo 2008. You can have a look to our site in www.motoclubsotobike.com to see some details about 2007. The Regs. you can see them: http://www.sotobikesport.com/html/reglamento08.html :Sport regs. http://www.sotobikesport.com/html/reglamento-tecnico08.html : Technical Regs. Basically bikes need to be: AIR COOLED - TWO SHOCKS - NO DISK BRAKES As there is no problem with an entry limit we will upload the entry forms and other details in arround a month. Meanwhile if you are planning to come, I can help you with hotel reservations and any othe detail you need to know. please contact me in greeves@telefonica.net
  19. Nice sections. Can you post some pics of a classic trial there? Would be nice to see.
  20. Hi EdHolland: Thanks a lot for the link. Unfortunately lately in Spain some people think they have a treasure in their garage if they have an old classic trials bike stored there. And this is very often not true. This man is asking for 1,800 euros for that bike (1,200 Pounds) and the bike although is original, is not road registered, no papers at all, and needs some restauration to do, so that price is too high. I think 1,000 euros (670 Pounds) is the price for it (and if the engine is not too bad). The man selling it is a second hand dealer, that uses this kind of sites to sell his parts and bikes. You can see what I am talking about if you go to the link "ver todos los lotes de este vendedor" in that webb. That is all the stuff being selled by this man. Expensive bikes. Aniway many thanks for your interest, and I am shure sooner or later I will find one of the first 348 for me.
