  1. Maybe here you can see something about the difference.
  2. Hi oldford02, and sorry for my English, sometimes I think it is better than it really is. Have a look here: http://www.todotrial.com/ttclasico/taller/bultacoalpina.htm This bike is the same that yours and it is a nice restoration. The silencer or final exhaust (I hope this is proper English) in this restoration is not the original, your
  3. Yes, I confirm it. The driving position improves a lot with this, you can even put them rearwards too. I am not quite big as Mr. Big John, I am shure he will feel much more comfortable with the rear option. There
  4. That Alpina 85 model is the first built by Bultaco, and it looks one of the very first units because of the escape (shared with Sherpa
  5. Hi from Spain GIANT: There must be fantastic places for trials in Rusia. I presume winter must not be the perfect time for trials there. But cold, isn
  6. Big John the shoks in the bike you used in Robregordo where Classic Team, the same used by Mick Andrews in his James. The best shocks, but unfortunately the man that made them is out of the business now. I am happy to own 2 pairs
  7. Thank you all for the ifos, specially to Mr. Ask Greeves. That webb page have almost all I need. This weekend I will be in Barcelona racing the Cabrianes 2 days international classic trial, but next week will check all the info about my Greeves. Thanks again.
  8. Hi: I own this Greeves bike, but the sprockets obviously are not correct as the bike is too fast in 1st gear. Somebody knows the correct sprockets? and maybe where to find them in the internet? It is really a pre-65 bike or not??????? Thank you
  9. Hi from Spain ScrumpyJack: Here you have some photos of my Sammy Miller bike. It is number 100039 and was imported to Scotland on March 1965. It raced the SSDT 1965, 1966 and 1967 driven by George W. Phorbes. If you send me a private with your email I can send you more and better photos of it. The Sammy Miller model are only the 10....... models. You can find the number in the engine and in the chassis near the footrest. It is a 244,29 cc. piston 72x60 mm. and 8/1 commpression. 18 CV power at 8.000RPM, IRZ24EC carburettor, Femsa VAR 125-4 electrics, points advanced 3 to 3,4 mm. and 0,35 to 0,45 separation. Spark plug KLG FE55P. Clutch oil 300 cm3. Gears 0,35/0,454/0,831/1. 14/52 sprockets.
  10. I resized the photos with Photoshop as it has a function "Resize for webb" but it looks it is not the perfect tool for this. Sometimes if some dust comes in the body of the digital cameras, the result of the photos is something like the worst process made 50 years ago. When shooting wildlife in dusty places it is very common to seal the body and lens with silicon to avoid the dust. About the cameras for trials photography I think any reflex camera starting 4Mpixels is ok as far as the lenses are fast enough, 2.8 and even slower 3.5 will do ok. With this kind of lenses, enough light and just 1/1500 speed.... you can stop any trials motion in a photo. A EOS1D is the best camera in my opinion, but 3 or 4 times more expensive than a 10D or a 50D, and this last ones are really enough even for proffesionals (with the fast lenses of course).
  11. Thanks Andy: I will open a Flickr account for the photos. About the trial we organice we will prepare a nice report, also thanks. And there is also something we will also have to discuss, as we are going to start trials safaris in East Africa.....
  12. I have a nice equipment for wildlife photos with a Canon EOS 10D and lenses 17/35 2.8L, 70/200 2.8L-IS and a huge 300 2.8L that can be extended with the 1,4X and 2X and really happy with the trials photos I took here. I think Canon is the best for wildlife as the lenses are ultrasonic with no noise focusing, and for trials and sports in general it looks there are also very good as the auto focusing is extremely fast.
  13. Hi theused: Yes, lots more, but I really don

Thank you all. TooFastTim: I am a little lazy and too chaotic to be able to take pictures during the restoration. I have got this photo from the bike when I bought it, it is the white and blue one, that somebody painted very roughly, sharing space with a 199a and some wine.

Yes Mr Greeves, very very nice indeed! Mouth watering! Beautiful. I had a model 199 in 1977 (ASG 811S) new but I had the left foot gearchange then and kept to this set up when I bought my blue 199A which I still have now. The only problem I had with the model 199 was a fine white sand in the fuel which was caused by the welding flux from the alloy tank we had for the UK market. One phone call to my friend Jock Wilson at Comerfords and he knew exactly why my bike was running weak! I hope to see this bike of yours soon! Best wishes... Big John Thanks Mr. BigJohn. Coming fom you this are very nice words to read. This tank is the plastic original one used in the spanish market, cleaned 1000 times. No problem to put left foot gearchange in this one or in a 199A or 199B. This is my favourite Bultaco model, as it is the first Bultaco I used, and the one I used in the 1977 Spanish Junior Championship Final in El Paular, a beautifull place on top of the mountains north to Madrid. I look forward to see you soon here.
