Edinburgh accents are a breeze, no problem... but broad Aberdonian and the Mearns accents, well, even I have trouble sometimes!

Nigel has had quite a few trials bikes since that Dalesman (just about everything that has ever been made in fact), but he has had his special TLR250 Honda for 15 years now.

I'm not sure what the Pollock will use this year that is down to the clerk of the course to decide, if its a two route section format, they need only use two colours, being Red and Blue routes equivalent to the old A & B. With the usual Starts and End of section cards, we use Red for the hardest; then Blue for less severe (Sportsman) then Green (Clubman) down to Yellow (beginners and Youth C) for the easiest. That way it accomodates four routes in one sectioned area. We use coloured arrows and quite a few are doubled up within a section. It saves having cards indicating a split in the section. It is really quite simple, whatever route you enter to ride, the rider must traverse the section through all his coloured markers.

Indeed Hillary, but with modern multi route sections, Red and Blues cannot cope! Only useful for the SSDT and events that don't offer hard to soft routes. There should really be a common/standard system for ease and to avoid confusion!

There is no such universal marking system in the UK, but...
The Scots have the best one of all!

That is definately my friend Nigel M. Greenwood from Huddersfield and I have seen action photos of the Dalesman bike he had many times.
I have just had a text back from him coinfirming his middle name...

I think that is like seasoning?
I have heard of this technique before

As Mr Raga likes hopping and skipping, I don't think he would like to ride the Pre-65, unlike another true trials enthusiast who will be riding number 97 in the 2010 Pre-65 Scottish who understands that you don't need to stop a trials bike in full-flow!
My lips are sealed!
Big John

I didn't know that either!

Well there is a new supporter next year "Wines from Spain"
Serco no more it would seem!

Well thank goodness we don't have much of that up our way, clubs are now taking riders feedback very seriously in Scotland as do the SACU Trials Committee.
As a direct result the SACU have introduced a new championship in 2010 to cater for riders who can't do the fancy stuff and that is just a start (watch this space!)
As you say, give the customer what he/she wants and they will keep buying your product... put on offer them something they don't like and the inevitable happens!
Sure we get clashes of dates sometimes, but these are usually resolved by having championships being given first priority then nationals then club events in a time honoured pecking order or importance. seems to work quite well.

...well if you didn't get in the Pre-65 Scottish, you are always welcome to ride Alvie Woody! You know you want to!

Of course, Colin Dommett has it!
Big John

Well the event is held every year so I don't think you are experiencing des ja vu!
Big John

I believe he didn't get in.

Maybe your Cub might have scuppered your chances, it has a direct bearing as the organisers grade by capacity class - read the recent articles on the event!
Unless of course you had entered on something bigger?

Its a well known fact in Scotlandshire that after a very wet SSDT week (as happened in 2009) that entries the following year tend to take a dip!
Absolutely true!

Hey I'm working for Royal Mail, nothing will get stuck in the mail system!!!!
Big John

Yes Munch, we all pray for you every morning now!

Never mind... nobody was killed or anything like that! At least folks will now know where to book their accommodation for 2010 edition of the SSDT, which is handy!
