  1. That's why in the results it says "For Fun" beside those who rode for no award! Big John
  2. Results are now on the front page guys! Big John
  3. I think I have one of the most expensive (new) books on trials - 'Observed' by Eric Kitchen, limited edition of course! Big John
  4. Very accurate and precise report on Alvie there Woody. Any criticism is always taken positively by the Inverness lads. That Ulf Karlson Rep was sourced locally in Aviemore a few months ago and is owned by my friend Ali McArthur. It is an original bike still with the footrests as fitted by the Montesa factory! Looks like we could max out next year, we will strive to keep the trial - "The Friendliest Classic Trial in Scotland" Dates for your diary: 12/13th June 2010.. Big John
  5. Great photos of a really good weekend by Hilary Little: http://picasaweb.google.com/hillittle11/Highland2DayNikon# http://picasaweb.google.com/hillittle11/Highland2DayFuji# Big John
  6. Sorry can't make it Davieboy bit busy after our Classic at the weekend I'm afraid... shame on those Scots Pre-65 riders who only want an annual outing at Kinlochleven it would appear! Big John
  7. Those who chose not to come up to Alvie at the weekend...you missed a right good weekend of sport in the Highlands. I have to say that it must be the friendliest clubman classic in the calendar. Thanks to all who attended, see you all next year! Good to see a mixture of twin-shocks and Pre-65's too! Date for the 2010 edition to follow on my avitar! Big John
  8. I did it to see what happened, needless to say I didn't turn up until I put in John Moffat Trials! Big John
  9. Interesting Article there Tim! I did come across this guy once before when I googled my own name, but didn't know he was instrumental in sinking the Bismark! To my knowledge he isn't a relation. Big John
  10. Indeed, good photos of our Alvie Trial, on this weekend! Big John
  11. The course setters were out today at Alvie planning the final routes and sections. Looks like being a good one. Two routes: A & B. A is for twinshocks, B for Pre-65 machines and twinshocks for no awards. All classes catered for even specials. British bikes up to 1970; foreign up to 1964 classed as Pre-65. Youths may ride twinshock bikes or Pre-65 up to 125cc. Big John Entry forms here: http://www.idmcc.co.uk/forms.html
  12. Jim, I have an AJS 37A/T original publicity brochure, You are welcome to borrow it! Edgar Bros were agents for the two-stroke AJS in Edinburgh and I remember them competing up here on them OFS 12/13/14/15G were the consequetive registration numbers used. I think Ray Sayer rode one of those bikes in the 1969 or 1970 SSDT. Big John
  13. Tell them how tight the nut on the final drive shaft was on John's 198A Jim? Big John
  14. First report on Todo Trial website on Robregordo 09! http://www.todotrial.com/ttclasico/indexttclasico-total.htm? Big John
  15. I have got to hand it to Jim Evans and John Robertson! In all the years I have ridden and been around trials I have never witnessed anything like their ability and determination before! Well done both and we had some fun 'apres trial' too! You certainly got my respect lads. Big John
  16. Just back home after a wonderful time at Robregordo 09, the bikes, the people, the place - FANTASTICO! My friend 'CHIPS' (aka Alan Crayk - Inverness & District Motor Club) on winning his class outright, holding up the honour of not only the British contingent but the Scottish contingent also. My personal thanks to Carlos Bosch (Alecante) for the loan of his gorgeous Bultaco 325 Model 199A (Puma Racing) ridden last year by Bernie Schrieber! It is such a good motorcycle. Many thanks to our UK contingent that made the experience so friendly and so enjoyable: David Moffat Dave 'Woody' Wood Chris Denny John Robertson Jim Evans Our host, Javier Cruz and his daughter Sofia and her friend Macarena (they are so beautiful and such good cooks!) Finally, best of luck to Alfredo Gomez, he is not only a good pilot on a Puma Racing Bultaco but a very nice guy. See you in Scotland next year Alfredo for the world series! Big John
  17. Yes anyone looking on here that has stolen one or more of those banners at Nord Vue, take them back, you are not doing trials a favour in the eyes of sponsors. It's not on! Big John
  18. Is that the Sofia that looks like Jennifer Love -Hewitt? I should be racing on the yellow route, not green, can this be changed please? Regards, Big John
  19. Cheers Baldilocks, old shiny pal! Big John
  20. You mean Propaganda - Duel? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J9B2zU9aa5E Or this one: Sorry about that! Here is the extended (mostly instrumental) version, the one they took the theme for BBC's Rally Report in the 1980's. Too long to play on Nevis. Chune! Big John
  21. I've decided to ride Pre-65 class on the BSA, Feet-Up Dave has now entered on the Tiger Cub. I was going to prep up a 250 Bultaco (1974, model 124) but I haven't got enough time, I will prep it anyway as it is a nice bike with a very nice Homerlite tank seat unit in original finish! See you all there! Big John
  22. Hmmm, good bike that though, 2 SSDT's and the motor sounds as sweet as can be! Big John
  23. Did she actually go on stage then, I missed that bit! Big John
  24. Phoned Carole Nash today to insure 4 trials bikes, they will now only do third party only cover on off road bikes, they do not cover for fire and theft any more! No use to me... Big John
  25. big john
