Well done Billy, but rotten luck, there is always next year.

Normally 'Littlestar' posts results on behalf of Perth club on here, but she is at university now, so it may not be possible.

Yes, this is quite normal for the 125 Beta using the Dellorto carb. We had one (an 06), it is quite un-nerving at the start as you think the throttle has jammed.

You know, with all this banter, folks on here will start to actually believe I'm a tight fisted git!

Nope, did a deal and bought a copy, I was getting embarrased at folks saying: 'I thought of all people you would have been first in the queue to get one!'
So now I have it here number 6/50.

I did actually buy a round at the pub at Muker on Thursday night (is that how you spell it?) and I bought drink when I arrived at Richmond Cricket Club. I remained sober...and...I now have a copy of Eric Kitchen's book, (I did a private deal) all my very own to keep!
One other thing, I really like how the Scott organisers do not hand out copies of the results until after the prize giving. It definately adds to the suspense of it all, that's the best way to do it.
Well done to the two 'runners' the lad and lass pictured above who handed out the auction purchases, they worked really hard!

Yes I did, I said "Right Fuji...get em off"

My apologies, I will be at the Scott Trial on Saturday so I will not be able to attend John Miller's funeral. Please convey my sympathies to Graham and his family.

I can't say there have been too many rigid 500cc twins riding the pre-65 Scottish in recent years!

I am extremely sorry to hear that news. I've known both John and Graham for many years back to the days when I was in the Lanarkshire club.
As you say davie boy, sadly missed. An honest down to earth died in the wool motorcyclist.
God speed John Miller.

We have two NGK CR6EH-9 plugs here that 'expired' from two different Montesa 4RT's.
Big John
(not quite a collection!)

Hi Steve,
You still got that Fantic helmet I sold you?
I did have the hotstart upgrade fitted, but by then I had already bought the 4RT Montesa as a stop gap, then liked the Montesa!

The one I saw was a rear widened type, so yes they are available.
Big John

Blimey, I almost forgot I still had one of those 05 3.2 4T! 4.5 hours use only....
Must be getting senile!

Me I pay a tenner a year to help defray the expenses Andy has running this site!
Can't remember how to join, I think it's on the front page???
Yip: 'Site Information'> drop down: 'Trials Central Supporter'

Answer, yes, Alan Whitton Race Engineering. They are available at a price (not cheap!)
They are not all that light either, I had one in my sweaty palm the other night, not much lighter than the steel original to be honest, but I'm sure someone will shoot me down in flames for saying so!

Hi Guys,
I bought my RTL250S 1985 bike from Neil Crosswaite, many years ago. A friend who had retired as service manager of Hull based dealership 'Miles Kingsport', looked it over for me as it was not running correctly and kept cutting out.
Neil said he thought it was the black box cdi unit, so undeterred I went ahaed and bought the bike (I think Martin had been riding some local trials on it prior to its electrical fault).
My friend had a close look at the bike and phoned me to say that he had cured the cutting problem...faulty kill button!
As said above, hope it's simple, definately sounds like it, as the bike 'cuts' when cold as well as at operating temperature.

From memory, the SWM uses the same knuckle as a Can-Am, but the actual pedal is cranked a different way to clear the offside footrest.

Hi Sparks2,
Yes interesting indeed...
My Dalesman frame was constructed out of Reynolds 531 tubing and SIF-bronze welded. That was the Ernie Page ISDT bike. He didn't last the full 6 days in 1969, he was squeezed off one of the mountain roads by an Italian trophy man in a hurry and Ernie went over the edge. It cost him too much time to recover himself and the bike, so he was timed out.

Yes I agree, Martin is a solid contact for everything SWM & Gori for that matter. He comes highly recommended.
However, the kickstart may be a problem, the lower knuckles are available but the swinging lever part is not. Martin had considered having some made provided he got a fair demand.

Almost absolutely correct Ishy!
Mind you, I have a reasonable head of hair still...

Sorry I can't so links, but there is one available on e-bay at the moment!
Doble check that it is a Monoshock manual and not a twinshock, just to be sure.

I have never ever bought a bike to make money, purely to enjoy riding it and owning it.
Mind you the way things have been going over the last seven days, I am beginning to wonder if my entire fortune is going to be based within trials bikes of yesteryear! Oh well, batten down the hatches....
Anyway OLH722 stays where it is.
Big John
Me and my Dad enjoying OLH722 way back in January 1958! (That's me looking down, trying to figure out which lever is the valve-lifter...)
