If you made it that hard today you wouldn't have a trial!

What other forum would be appropriate other than Classic?
All the points made from the Pre-65 Scottish committee are quite acceptable IMHO. Definately not good to have 90 Cubs (or any other model for that matter), that would certainly not appeal to the fans that support the event. (I said that before somewhere!)

Pains me to say this being a "Bulto Boy", but the Montesa 330 was a very good twin-shock trials bike, many of the current twinshock Spanish riders like them very much!
Big John

Pretty much that was about it!

I live too far away from it to comment, however, I think that Kelvedon Hatch is the place that the late Don Smith (Old DR!) used to practice with a Scots chap called "Allie Beag" Cameron (from Fort William) when they both were associated with Greeves in the 1960's!

I'm not knocking Graham's bike, I don't do that...
The front nearside slider at the lower pinch bolts had been repaired using a bracket arrangement, yes it was at Alvie last year and I always scruitinise Bultacos!
Maybe, just maybe at Alvie this year I may forego my BSA B40 and ride a Bultaco!!!

I'm not an expert on "R" but it is a vegetable based oil. R40 is basically Castrol R nowadays.
A friend of mine pours a capful into his B40 fuel tank i.e. mixed with the petrol, just to give it the distinctive aroma, but he uses mineral based oil in the oil tank.
Racers used "R" as the main lubricant but it can sludge an engine up. It was only recommended for use when racing engines were stripped down regularly to replace rings and be overhauled due to the normal than usual wear caused under racing conditions and if left in an unused motor for any considerable length of time it would sludge.

Because their employers wont let them...
It is a very different event, non-stop and they are worried that they could be injured and spoil their WC chances basically!
If the factories wanted badly a win at the SSDT more than a WC win, they would all be allowed to ride.

Yip that's pretty much it, davieboy.
Not quite "box section" swinging arm but certainly not round tubing, it had a rounded edge to it, same as 340 spec but with 250 motor. Yes abreviated rear sub frame and a special airbox with a big rubber bung on the left hand side. Rare beast!

OK Rosey, I'll be your friend!

Now then, this is one for Snr. Greeves, look at that Bultaco that bike is now in the possession of a certain AGB!
The carb is a big give-away, its a mark 2 Amal, that's a 250cc Bultaco Model 198B, very few of those made!! I believe that it is currently not for sale, may swap for a nice 340 maybe?

The ones I couldn't get amounted to three, being the parc ferme shot; A N Gardner and number 2 coz I can't see an image for 2! That wasn't bad WITHOUT the programme beside me. I added the bikes size of motor from the programme!

Nice try Rosey! Not quite up to my standard though, not bad for a Scotsman eh?

Pity they decided to run it on the same day as the Alvie, Highland Classic 2 Day Trial!
