  5. A biker stops by the local Harley Shop to have his bike fixed. They couldn't do it while he waited, so he said he didn't live far and would just walk home. On the way home he stopped at the hardware store and bought a bucket and an anvil. He stopped by the feed store/livestock dealer and picked up a couple of chickens and a goose. However, struggling outside the store he now had a problem: how to carry all of his purchases home. While he is scratching his head he was approached by a little old lady who told him she was lost. She asked, "Can you tell me how to get to 1603 Mockingbird Lane?" The biker said, "Well, as a matter of fact, I live at 1616 Mockingbird Lane. I would w alk you home but I can't carry this lot." The old lady suggested, "Why don't you put the anvil in the bucket, carry the bucket in one hand, put a chicken under each arm and carry the goose in your other hand?" "Why thank you very much," he said and proceeded to walk the old girl home. On the way he says, "Let's take my short cut and go down this alley. We'll be there in no time." The little old lady looked him over cautiously and then said, "I am a lonely widow without a husband to defend me. How do I know that when we get in the alley you won't hold me up against the wall, pull up my skirt, rip off my knickers and have your way with me?" The biker said, "Holy smokes lady! I am carrying a bucket, an anvil, two chickens, and a goose. How the hell in the world could I possibly hold you up against the wall and do that?" The lady replied, "Set the goose down, cover him with the bucket, put the anvil on top of the bucket, and I'll hold the chickens."
  6. I,ve had my 4rt nearly 2 years now and bought it second hand as a year old bike. I've changed the oil filter twice, engine oil 4 times and clutch oil twice although once would have done. I estimate I,ve ridden it 7-800 hours so far not including the Scottish and Scott the previous owner rode. It has never let me down, it rides exactly as it did the day I bought it and always starts first kick from cold. Yes shes a heavy old bird but I would'nt swap it for any bike yet, they are amazing
  7. Billy, you wont get **** all for a busted finger nail mate
  8. Some great points there Ishy i cant remember a time when there was only one route but two was the norm around the Midland Centre when I was a teenager. Trouble is these days the gap between a novice and an expert or Inter is massive even at local club level, I,m not sure why, maybe the bikes and how they ride but long gone are the days of a single route at a club trial where the majority of riders ride. Earl Shilton has four routes and full in each every trial, speaking to some of the white route riders (4th) the jump to the green route (3rd) is huge let alone attempting anything that would take a single dab of an expert. Yes the sections can be made more rider friendly (safer) with horrible cambers etc but the modern trials bike has developed over many years to the extremely light and agile tool it is now, designed to go up and over just about anything.

    Ebay

Fair play will think about doing that in my Ebay shop items I recon
  10. Dixie, he didnt pack up because it was too hard at all, he packed up because the sport changed so much overnight he lost interest, shouldnt think he lost much sleep over it at 17, lets hope lots of other lads dont do the same or the whole non stop route will have been the worst change ever for rider numbers. Easy? yes that section was easy as non stop but I think it was set to be a hard one, how would that section change to make it harder now? was my point as an already non stop type section
  11. Going non stop will down this way loose riders in events, I have spoken to a few over the past week and I am sure it will happen, I remember the last time we went non stop and the riders who packed in including myself. My reason for packing in was the massive change in the sport overnight when I was used to nothing else but hopping and stopping, I did give it a good go but it was never the same. I have a feeling alot of the lads will pack up,they like Trials because of the tricks and will dearly miss that, hopefully many will stick with it but I do feel alot will move on to other sports from what I've seen. I can remember the first non stop trial I did (Oxford Ixion I think) there was a young lad who would regualry come 1st or 2nd on the hard route, he pretty much came last and soon left the sport. Yes the youth will adapt to it if it goes non stop, but many wont and I am pretty sure its the hopping about and tricks that gets the young lads started into the sport in the first place not ease of riding Trials. I dont beleive people go and watch a club trial and think "oh I cant do that sport - I'll never learn how to hop about like that" when in the main most of the field are doing the B and C routes anyway and from my experience the new guys into the sport including all the over 40's Ive ridden with want to know how to hop. The B and C routes where the majority of riders are doesnt require hopping anyway so changing the rules wont effect the majority anyway it will only effect the A route, I wish I could have gone to the ESTC trial yesterday and asked the A route riders their thoughts, yes I may be wrong but I have a feeling I,m not. I like riding up North and alot of those trials are non stop anyway and pretty much have always been,as I said previously down here things are very different due to the land we have. I still think the A route down here will get dangerous to make sections non stop in limited venues where you have to go at something if your not quite ready for it. Going back to a recent Stratford trial section 10 i think, Scorpa3 thought this section would take some marks, it could be ridden non stop and pretty much no A route riders dropped any marks on it all day (correct me if I'm wrong Pete sorry, may have been another section) now what would need changing to this section to take any marks on an already non stop section? my guess would be up something even bigger or even less run up, the first climb needed a spot on approach if you went slightly off balance or not quite ready the result would be a big crash same went for the drop back down the hill.
  12. Ian you must know "The Legend" he also highly recommends 80's Scott clothing for durability
  13. Your bike should go about 18-20 miles on a full tank, if your trial is a multi lap say 10 sections four laps over about a mile course then do your first two laps, top up and that will do, you may even get away without re-fueling but be a shame to run out mid section on section 39 or 40. Theres more chance of me beating Toni Bou one day then having your bike scruitineered, make sure though for your own safety the brakes work well, wheel bearings are good, chain is not too tight or slack and all major bolts are nice and tight, wheel spokes are tight and not bent bust Everyone turns a tyre to give a better edge, its unlikely you will notice any difference on downhills or braking Pressure is dependant on the type of tyre you have and the condtions terrain, 4 is good for rocks and the dry,2-3 for wet ****e and slippy, I always have 6 in the front any lower and the wheel rolls Hope all goes well, take your time theres plenty of it at a trial, make sure you watch and learn lines before going into a section, many people take different lines, and see where people are getting on and off the throttle in a section, You'll love it
  14. You can get stiffer springs if needed, if the bike isnt bottoming out on stuff your riding and feels comfy leave it alone, I have my suspension quite saggy and soft which gives better grip, abit harder to hop around but works for me
  15. Try a new plug cap, are you letting it warm up with no throttle untill the fan kicks in?
  16. Earl Shilton Trials Club have the Calor Gas Trial this Sunday, go up and ride it or watch, you can go there for practice any time you like as long as you join the club practice membership. Not far from Redditch and well worth the drive, its a great place Practice
  17. They all do it pretty much even from new
  18. I,m really going to miss stopping, spent this evening up the Dishes and most of our sections required stopping and hopping, I will miss lining up infront of a step or climb and going from nothing. I think I will ride better (results) non stop but I wont enjoy it nearly as much, I can hop whilst moving quite easily but those climbs/steps from no run up will gone next year if the ACU go this way. Non of the lads up there today liked the idea either

    Carb Upgrade?

repacking makes a bit difference if the original is ****ed. Theres a post on the Beta forum (sticky I think) about the Mukuni, there should be pics in there and settings for you to follow
  20. I,ve got to admit I like Ians idea not as progression of the sport but as different type of event on their own, be a great laugh. Could work with one route say the B route so every one could have a go, timed start to end, 1 second added for every dab even if 30 dabs, make it easy enough so everyone gets through and a couple of other lines to save time but risk a few dabs
  21. I,ve ridden plenty of non stop trials up north and enjoy them alot, the lay of the land lends itself to this type of rule, down here as Andrew said things are a little more difficult to say the least. You need much more open sections which will mean longer sections taking up what little bit of land is left on alot of our already small southern venues, to be honest I cant wait to ride the first non stop trial down this way to see what the course setters come up with

    Carb Upgrade?

Set the carb up right and stick Boyesens in her, you can buy them from Motormerlin on Ebay no probs. The Dellorto is a mega carb on the rev3 but needs constant cleaning, if you dont mind carb cleaning go for that,if not stick with the leaky junk called the Mukuni
