Has anyone had a pair of boots resoled or should i bite the bullet and buy a new pair maybe just use these in the dry months ? I think at
  2. Have a look on r2wtrials. com for these mods. I had the same problems as you so I did these simple mods and hay presto problems over. cheers Leggins

    250 Or 270?

Im not saying anything Leigh as I have a large yellow streak running down my back I was about to spend some of my hard earned cash on a 270 rev3 which my mate was selling , When Dougie Pumpkins 250 rev 3 came on the market. Ive got to say at 6 ft 2 and 15 st the 250 has plenty of power , More than enough to drag me through the harshest of Yorkshires countryside. Although Doug Pump recomends 8 th gear for hillclimbs I am still having trouble getting past 7 th. Is there a trick to finding 8 th or have I been sold a lemon cheers Leggins
  6. Just to let Dougie Pumpkin know this scorpa was mint until the owner attempted the river kwai in last years Jack Wood trial....Makes you think is it really worth dragging that brand spanking beta up the kwai hmm.
  7. Ok mate here we go .... low bradfield head to high bradfield. at juc ( the horns pub ) turn left and follow the road up and out of high bradfield. appx 1/2 mile from pub take a right turn at a fork in the road. take next right follow lane onto a t-junction and turn right again . follow this road and you will see the road markers to lumbush.. there are also road markers from Oughtibridge if that is any help. have a good trial and dont give the observer on section 14 a hard time . cheers Leggins
  8. There are a couple of us in Sheffield who use this site mate. Dont worry by this time tomorrow I will have posted you the directions from lower Bradfield to the start as you asked.
  9. I have just watched the Steve Colley crash ...my god it made me feel sick to my stomach..I would like to wish Steve a speedy recovery . what a trials rider and what an entertainer ,, after me now everyone ONE STEVE COLLEY THERES ONLY ONE STEVE COLLEY ONE STEVE COLLLLLLLEEEYY.........
  10. Every time I see "which chain " I cringe. As Barry said there was a major topic on Iris chains a few months ago. My iris chain had been on and in use for around 3 hours when it snapped in a river with steep bank sides at a section which was about as far away from my car as possible. the dealer changed it no questions asked for a DID which so far has been fine .
  11. Hi Jen You are right Eadons field is a great venue and yep it does get very slippery in winter. I had to laugh to myself on Sunday how many blokes suddenly became interested in sidecar trials when a tidy young lady in a yellow top entered the sections. I wonder who that was eh cheers Leggins
  12. Thanks everyone , I managed it the conventional method and everything went well which worries me a little cheers Leggins
  13. Had to ride trial with no rear brake yesterday. I think I have found the problem but I was wondering if anyone has any tips on bleeding the system. thanks leggins
  14. Come to think of it I did tighten the bolts on the primary cover as one had worked loose. thanks lineaway Ill give that a try cheers Leggins worked a treat kickstart back to normal working order.... thanks again
  15. Sounds like carb problem to me . I had lots of problems with mine when it was new to me. Like betarev3 said stirp the carb down and give it a good blast of carb cleaner. While youve got it stripped down do the mods on r2w,s web site ( maybe someone will post the correct web address for you ) these only take a couple of mins but are well worth it . I would give it another turn out on the air screw , new plug and give that a try . let us know how you get on . cheers Leggins p.s found it www.r2wtrials.com search.. betacarbsetup
  16. : This is what I was advised to do with my rev 3. I now use this method everytime I ride and have not had any trouble since

  18. Come to think of it I did tighten the bolts on the primary cover as one had worked loose. thanks lineaway Ill give that a try cheers Leggins
  19. My rev 3 kickstart has stopped returning to the top position after kicking up. is this a problem with a return spring ? cheers Leggins
  20. TANGENT is the key word here....oh yeah did that techno exhaust ever stop rubbing ? you see dougie pumpkin and leggins where just filling time until we got the answer Where was I oh yes Ive decided to ride at Dovecliffe on Sunday Doug. Saw it on tarrrn web site....hillclimb what gear again ??????
  21. You didnt miss much last night. your mate Ben was on good form, Ask him about that bird at the rock . Yep AGM next week should be a laugh . Im thinking of doing sheff & hallam on sunday, might just do the sidecar sections. Ive heard there is no riding next week at DH. because theres a shoot on,Have you heard owt?
  22. Should have just parked near te road, thats where we parked last week.. Yes did the Manchester trial, awsome place, organization was fantastic, was doing ok on the 1st lap, put at start of second lap, drowned myself and bike in between sections, and totally wore myself out dragging it up the most slippy rocky section ever lol.. got bike started again but was knacked.. Will definately do it again.. and been told you can practise up there for a few gold coins Had a go at that underwater trials thingy. Didnt reckon much to it although softer landings. Enjoyed Dean head plenty to go at, Will prob be up there again next weekend if theres no local trials happening...going to meeting on wednesday night to offer my services at the stocksbridge trial. Ive been told to keep well away from deadcows creek so theres no score tampering going on up that cows creek
  23. and Leggins is as he likes to wear Borat style lycra It was full winter gear for me today mate at Dean Head, We managed to get two of our cars stuck in the field, great start only 6 bikes up there today . did you do the manchester 17 trial ?
  24. I had the same problem with my exhaust rubbing on the tyre and wearing through. no matter how much I tried I couldnt keep it off the back tyre so I decided to patch it with some 2mm aluminium plate which I bent to shape . Before pop riveting on I put plenty of high temp silicone on to seal the plate. I also managed to squeeze a couple of washers in the hanger to act as spacers. this seems to have done the job and doesnt look out of place. Hang on to your cash... being a yorkshire lad I hate to see money go to waste cheers Leggins p.s dont listen to Dougie pumpkin . He thinks betas have 8 gears..... someone should let him know they have way more than that .....
  25. Hi Frank I repacked my betas exhaust in the summer.I phoned Lampkins to try to get some packing material. I was told by John there only to use approx 3/4 of a bag and not to pack it to tight as this would make the bike run really rough. I ended up buying some from a local bike shop (
