That was the general jist of what i'd herd, For some reson they don't like two strokes. I think that was why they where producing fourstrokes in the 80's when everybody else was 2 stroke. I vaguely remember them doing somthing similar in one of the road race classes when that class was dominated by 2 strokes.

You would be better off selling on this site, TMX, Local free adds papers than eBay. If you do a bit reserch in TMX to see what they have been advertised for you will get an idea what to ask. eBay probably works out the same cost wise as TMX, as it not cheep to sell bikes or cars. At a rough guess you would get about

Is there going to be one this year
-
I don't think honda/montesa will go back to 2 strokes for a while yet, Honda don't like 2 strokes .
-
Can't comment on the Beta but i like my sy175 more than the 315 mont i had . But like asking what's the best bike, it a personal thing .
-
They are 143cc, it is a modified 125, and it is done at the scorpa factory. And they mucked a few up.
-
Rings fitted incorrecty. The others have also needed liners.

Load of bull
I had just as much chance buying a new one to have encountered this. There have been a few where the engine has not been done properly by the factory. So what your saying is that every one who has had this problem has caused it themselves.
-
In all honesty I did not expect birkett
-
From what i was lead to beleve the conversion that scorpa did to increase the capacity was not carried out correctly, hence there have been a few with the same problem.
Don't think mine had a lot of use before i got it, it was just as crosser lost the importership so don't think he would have been lending it out to any mags for tests. At the end of the day, you pay your money and take a chance, even with a new bike most warrenties are for parts only so i'd have still had to pay the postage and labour costs (about

Yep . Bought the bike from crosser, so Birks said they could not date the bike, so i had to pay.
-
Mine needed a new liner, pistion and rings. Cost

Finally got my bike back together yesterday (sy175). Even with the pi**ing down rain, i could not resist taking it out. I was out for about 1.5 hours and it seems to be running spot on now, with no plooms of smoke bilowing out the exhaust.

If you read the report on Mick Andrews, james in trials world its supposed to be "nothing special" so most off it's got to be down to the rider
Just means theres little hope for me.
-
How come i can get a complete set of plastics for a motox bike i.e. front mud guard, number board, 2 * rad scoops, 2 * side number boards, and rear mud guard for abou
-
Why oh why don't they do stuff like this for trials bikes
-
-
The tube i was refering to is the tube atached to the drain point on the bottom of the carb. from having spoken to kevin seward, the mechanic at birkett's there is no specific mesurment, as it dosn't make a great deal of differance.
-
Or you hold the carb level and use the drain tube on the botom as a level guage.
-
infact for another tenner i'll even sign it my self.
-
I've got a xspeed helmet signed by dougie, its nearly 3 years old, scratched to hell, and stinks. Shall we start the bidding at say
-
Very sorry for not geing clear enough RS
i was told they were having good results with the float boal quarter full, was told that you could go up to half full (or empty). The standard setting is three quarters full and this is to much, can leak when on side stand.
Cheers Glenn

For the 175 Birkett's recommended settings are:-
Needle, the clip in the centre position
Mainjet 102.5
Pilot jet 17.5
Float hight 1/4 to 1/2
when i get the engine sorted i'll tell you what this set up is like.
