r2wtrials. I don't know if there is a law that covers helmets for 'off road' bike's, but i have see a couple of people that where using modified climbing helmets at a trial recently. obviously they would not be road legal, but they are well vented. i would think at club trials no one would say anything as long as you have somthing on your head a bit more protective than a bobble hat.

hi
i have the xpeed as well, bought the thing nearly 2 years ago now when i started riding. having never had any other helmet to compare to, i can't say if its better or worse. i wash the thing out once every few rides and have no complaints. i was thinking about getting a hebo helmet however i did try a frends a few weeks ago. but found the hebo to be the totaly wrong shape for my head to the point where it hurt my head. i suppose the moral of that story is that you should try before you buy.

Hi
i had the same problem on an old twin shockbike i had (can't remember which one). anyway what i did was to heat the hub up slowly and carefully with a blow lamp around the bearing orifice, and i use a heavy duty hose clip around the outside to squeese in the sides.
I may just have been lucky but it worked ok till i sold the bike and mad the bearing a tight fit again. i checked the hub after and it didn't distort, and i didn't need to have the wheel rebuilt.

Hi
Dose any body know what the standard mixture screw settings are. Being a comnplete nonce i have fiddled with it without checking what the standard settings where. I have found out that it makes not a jot of differance to me as i cannot feel any differance anyway so would like to return it to standard and leave it there.
Thank
Glenn

Hi
Sorry your's must be an earlyer model. On my 99 txt the bore was the same diameter for its full legth, the same as the 03 pro i have now.
-
Hi
You should be able to knock the hole asemblely out ether side as its a parrallel bore. It will be very tight as you are pushing 2 bearing out at the same time and both are a tight fit. put an old 10mm bolt through the hole to keep every thing straght as it comes out.

Yeah thats the standard arm, they where made like that to get them out of the way of rocks and stuff. the original bike was designed and built by don smith who did montesa's first trials bike aswell.

Hi
I was recently at a trial (2 weeks ago) where I had an accident, noting to major but I ended up being off work for 2 days. When I returned to work I was told that the company sick scheme dose not cover people who are competing in dangerous sports. On this occasion this didn

Hi
Just to add my thoughts on the subject. In my mind any thing that could restrict the flow of air into the air box will have an effect on performance. a properly set up 2 stroke engine pulls in aproximately 16 -18,000 litres of air for every 1 litre of fuel. And opviously anything that restricts this leaving the engine will also have an effect also. this is why it's so important to keep air filters clean.

Yeah i'd seen the betor on ebay, but i intend on keeping the bike so don't mind spending a few quid more if it's money well spent.

Hi
I've just bought a montesa cota 200, but it requires a pair of rear shockers. I was wondering what's avalable and what people would recomend. I've seen the betor and NJB shockers advertised but don't know if they are any good or if there's anything better. any info would be a great help.

Hi gary
I did the rear brake on the TXT i had before the pro, it was a right pain in the @rse. I ended up having to take the swinging arm out as sugested by Alan at white Bros. Theres to many bends in the pipe where air can get traped. if you get stuck send me a mail i may be able to come up and lend a hand. i presume you won't be riding tomorow.

I'm after tuning the bottom end for smoothness, not out and out power . i'm a novice wan'ting to calm it down not adam raga wanting more power . i've fitted the head spacer that gasgas do for them, but thats it so far. i was as much interested to find out why people fitted them as any thing. seen the bike on ebay and was wondering what the result of having one on was.
As to the twin shock thing, i'm becoming the owner of a 200 monty at the weekend. just to add another toy to the toy box .
