I have to agree with Dan. Beta rear brakes have always flat out sucked compared to the other brands. It`s almost like they had an engineer had no desire to make the brake any better than on or off. maybe the later model years have gotten better. I gave up on Beta when the next Gen model never happened. It would be tough to get me off my Montesa. But I just bought a lightly used 2016 250 for my grandson. (Novice rider owned.) Who knows I could be back to Beta by the end of the year.

Now I get it. I forgot you basically run your own club. Go forward with what is working for you. Our local club has never followed the NATC as far as marking our local events. We keep it real simple. Yellow paper with black arrows for section splits and two colored ribbon for loop markers. Marking a National for the NATC is crazy amount of work in comparison. Hundreds of stakes are needed. Just from a safety stand point. Stakes should never be used. Let alone having to ride around a loop with a back pack full of them. I miss the old days of just having flags just stuck in my boots! By the way we don`t just ride desert. Half of the year we ride in the mountains. We have been lucky enough to use several ski area`s over the years. Which the main ski lodge makes a great place for the pits to be run from. Good luck with your section building.

We went to the NATC crap like 12 years ago. Red on the right and blue on the left is way better than NOT being able to see the ribbon when it snows or hails. We are in New Mexico, but ride high elevation in the summer. Any of our events all year long can be in snow!!! White ribbon is for idiots! We finally went back to red and blue a few years back. Now if you like orange go for it. But when you are in a section and you have red on the right, you might just be going in the right direction. Now the NATC needs to get the back up rule fixed before April!!!

It was the same type system through the 93- 98 I believe. I think I still have some bruchures and litature laying around in my filing cabinet from those years. At that time all I knew was about dot 4 or dot 5 since that is what Snell used to push in the Gas Gas bikes in the states.

Just like the 95 section ran like crap until they came out with a new intake manifold at the correct angle. The 95 thermo stats never worked, so we wired the fan to run all the time. 95 was also a bad year for gas gas. The fork seal holder was replaced on all the bikes.The first National was quite interesting that year. Fantic had a line for intake manifolds and Gas Gas for the seal holders. Yeah, the Fantic came out with a hydraulic clutch on the 93 model. It originally had a trials bicycle brake master cylinder and they sent out Ajp's with the dot 4 scratch out with no instructions. I was a Fantic dealer. Lucky me I was the first guy in the states that had to source the inner seal.

The clutch was mineral oil. Dot 4 will kill that inner seal which requires the center cases to be split. That is probably why you are missing parts.

I have had that spring stuck in my eyebrow once. I learn things the hard way at times!

If what your burning looks like crap, well it`s crap. I learned years ago all oil is not the same. Ran Bel Ray since I got it at distributor price. Then got to see motors stripped down. What an eye opener! Most are ****. Clean is clean. Good luck.

Used to be a thread on here using a computer fan. Best bet would be a used fan with the shroud. Preferably off a trials or small kids bike. Good luck

Nothing wrong with the stock pegs. But you can cut the mounts off and weld new mounts on that fit the modern pegs. If you are just riding vintage events, you are just wasting time and money. Ride it more and figure out the bike. It just has to be ridden aggressive.

On the pro it could be many things. What year are you talking about? It could be as simple as the top hat is bad all the way to broken gears or bearings on the gear shafts. Usually when the bart gear starts loosing pieces it does not lock up, but sounds like a rod knock. But yes, best to pull it apart. My son went over the bars in my front yard and strangely enough the chain wrapped around the front sprocket. I split the motor the next morning. 2 gears fell out! Good luck. You got any help?

Spokes are usually in groups of 4. Thats mine in December 1974.
