  1. DOH! Sorry, I never thought about the accommodation. I live within a wheelies distance of BDMC so it never occurs to me that folk have to travel.... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> In that case, open your house up for a <mention of this company is not permitted on Trials Central> for a couple of hundred people and there might be a chance it'll happen. I seriously can't see anyone willing to camp out in winter, remember the fuss everyone made last year with a few threats from HL and Andrew to run off to a <mention of this company is not permitted on Trials Central> and desert us all? And that was in May! The weather stopped nice anyway...
  2. Check out the Scorpa trials bike, I quite like it, looks different. Not too keen on the wider frame though, something to just smash your knees in on more. Not too good feedback as you can see... Click-it-y Click
  3. My heart bleeds...poor soul.
  4. Evening all, Just curious, is there any place in this big world called the internet that one can order nuts and bolts...Wanting to tart the bike up a bit and looking for anodized as well as normal ones. Any ideas? Cheers me Dears.
  5. I think you'll find that we can only yet plastic from our bike manufacture...were as MX is more wide spread with brands such as UFO making plastics cheaply. Trials parts, plastics in anycase, are though the roof with no reason...its a plastic injection mould, with a few classy looking stickers...what do you think the net value of it is? Less then 50p? I understand they have to make profit, but
  6. My rear shock seems to have...well, not exactly packed up, but more 'made unchangable'. The purple looking screw to alter the compression has jammed up, it still has some play in it, but it will not budge either way...any ideas? The shock itself still works, but I want it hardening up, or, if possible, update the entire shock itself. I have yet to dismantle the shock as I dont have a clamp at hand, but if thats what it needs I will get hold of one. And also, if anyone has any information about obtaining shocks and their price ranges, please let me know. Thanks, Matt.
  7. A little off topic, but you could still benefit... Trying to keep my alpine stars that lovely white colour, had an idea of painting them, just like Mr.Colleys back in 2001 with the lovely yellow Hebos which his Dad painted for him. Painting them would keep them waterproof, but what paint to use? It needs to be waterproof, hard wearing and take well to leather...Any ideas you paint experts out there? Someone must have done it before?
  8. Just an idea, but has anyone ever tried Vegatable Oil or cooking oil...It should soak into leather nicely and it also repels water.
  9. I went from the standard, and recommended NGK (BR6ES) and to an NGK Iridium...pretty neutral about it...I'd say the bike does run a little better with the Iridium, but...to be honest I see or feel any real difference to the bikes running or performance.
  10. I had a quick look...but then again, it seems a bit pointless. 1. The final results don't have what bikes people were riding...so you'd have to match up rider numbers. 2.It doesn't say if the bikes were 2 or 4 stroke, so it wouldn't prove a reliability. 3.I can't be bothered to count the word 'Gas Gas' 100 times and loose count on the last one... 4....Its my day off work! I'll do it tonight if no one beats me too it...
  11. Way to many crashes in 10 or 11 years to name them all...but the worst one, and, touch wood, I hope it remains the worst.. Riding back from the practice spot (Heanor, Derbys) and theres a bit of a private path that runs right from the field to my house. The fencing either side of this path is about 4 foot high, and its all wooden posts with about 4 plans that go across it to make the fence. The pannels that go across have this metal wiring, which is about impossible to snap with hands or electrical wire cutters...so its pretty strong stuff, and its nailed all over the fence to keep the fence together. However, some **** decided to pull all the nails out so there is lots off this lose wire around, but still attached to the fence. I came riding down the path, perhaps in about 4th/5th and collecting a fair bit of speed...the next minute, everything went into slow motion...and thats it.. I woke up on the floor... Then I woke up at home, just as I walked though my back door. As you can imagine, I did ride into that wire, it got me neck first...as well as my arms and hands...resulting in a huge cut on every bit where that wire touched, and the one on my neck looked like I tried to hang myself...Luckly, it didn't scar that much. The funny thing was that I woke up, no one around, but my bike was leaned up on the fence next to me, and then I passed out again, and woke up as I walked though my back door. I drove home unconscious...which was scary...
  12. I wonder which is dented more...his bike, a*** or his pride?

  16. Posted on the news on the ssdt.org website.. -------------- Jeff Horn test rides the New Montesa Diesel Powered Trials Bike and gets know where!!! Yes you
  17. I hope you bought him a proper drink Andrew
  18. Glad to hear you've found some temporary work nearby
  19. As for recommending the ammount of teeth...all of my previous sets have been 10/40, but I went for 10/42 this time as I didn't have a choice. The amount of teeth will vary from rider to rider, but Im guessing 10/40 is pretty standard. It was factory standard on the Montesa anyway. The amount of teeth will not really effect you depending on your experience and...well, riding class. I recommend a standard 10/40 personally.
  20. I ordered some in from my local bike shop (road bike) which I dont normally do...but I figured he'd appriciate, and is probably more in need of my business then Sandifords. Anyway, I brought a renthal sprocket set, 42T on the rear, and 10T on the front, not exactly sure on the cost of the sprockets alone, but im guessing about
  21. But still the questionaire asks about Arm, Head and Leg protection, and also asks about pricing and which is a priority. The result of this could mean exactly what you've said, this could make the price of helmets, boots and gloves cheaper and also more developed as they are in a high priority and people may, or most likely, may not be prepared to pay high costs for protection...although in a business sense it would mean that its in a high priority and so they will charge more because they know its something most cant do without.
  22. Where abouts in Debryshire are you? You could hook up with me for some free lessons?
  23. I think thats that problem, trials vids are amazing and its more of a 'that looks complicated' and people don't like doing things unless they feel that they can be fully involved in the sport. People need to be shown the sport in a practical way so they enjoy the fun of the sport and not the extreme world class riding of the sport...if you understand what I mean, its a little difficult to explain.
  24. Selling up K? Guessing for an 05, what model are you going for, another Beta?
