Montesa 4rt On Bike Rack On Peugeot Partner
sr34 replied to frontroomautos's topic in Trials Transport
i to have looked into this myself not the same vehicle but the same idea the only thing to watch out for is the towbars nose weight mine was only 75kg and the 4rt is 81kg with a full tank of fuel as its not a cheap machine to start with i opted out of that idea didnt want to see it bouncing down the road behind me -
the manual does say 1mm of friction lining left you should replace them before damage is done to the disc much more costly than a set of pads

the kick start is in two parts the lower part contains a small bearing that acts as a locater to keep it closed when not in use this bearing has a spring that tensions it what you need to do is remove the srew that holds the top part to the lower part then very slowly remove the top part the bearing should fallout if it dont then the springs more than likely gone please refer to attached picture

i had the same problems but on a much older rev 3 i would recommend replacing the whole case not just the pump seals i wouldnt be surpised if the case was porous as its magnesium & as youve allready stated the bottom half that holds the pump cover seal in place has corroded phone either your local beta dealer or john lampkin imports for prices as i recall it cost me about

try removing the clutch slave cylinder & pull the rod out now see if the ball bearing is in there i had the same problem on one i rebuilt the bearing had fallen out & i had missed it put the bearing back in all sorted
