I think that Sunt was right about the power and de-restricters on the 4rt. I think that if they are all removed the bike will be way too much for most clubman!! I only have a couple out of mine and the bike pulls waaaaay more than my last 270 beta!! All the crap about been underpowered,is massively untrue. As soon as you crack the throttle it goes up and forward!!Dont believe all that you read on the net! Hey, i can hardly ride a bike and talk a load of rubbish and im impressed!

Nigel, he will say favourable things about the bike yes and so he should , but i believe he has only been riding Montesa for 2 seasons.,if that. Previous to that ,he will Say anyway , he was on the sy and rev-3 i think , so not exactly been a monty man through and through over the years. So no blind faith comments i dont think !

Good honest and unbiased report R2. A good read, these are the type of reports that we need, it won't please everyone, but what is the point of that?? I could personally do with a bike report that basically says, oil the chain and change the air filter and that is yer service!! That was one of the best things I've found with the sy scorpa, other than what i bust through heavy handedness , all i needed to do was change the air filter!! No linkage bushes as such, and it just kept on rolling. As has been said , if you jump on a bike and it feels right for you, then it probably aint far off, that is what i found with the sy, and wit that the same reason that i didnt like the gg 280 or 300. That aint to say they dont work (for clearly a lot of folk they do !!) But really i didnt like em misen!! Personal opinions are just that , but some info can help lots of folk when it brings up questions that people maybe hadn't thought about!!

Apparantley Leighton about knackered one of the 4rt's at the moto-1 !! He had never ridden trials before but gave it one hell of a good go!!

Not mine old fella !! Got mine yesterday!!! Its an 04 monty, 2stroke. i have been without a bike since August now and ive had enough. So cancelled my 4rt and bought this baby. Only 3 months old and all my carbon bits bolt straight on!! When all the tall stories about the bike and bech tests finally sort themselves out i might have a rethink , but im getting way too fat and so have spent my cash!!

Now that Ringo , would depend on the size or your pants and which end you talk out of!! Full info is needed before a fully credable and helpfull answer can be given! Forgive me for maybe guessing here a bit.... a passenger seat maybe?

I think that you have everything right Windlestone, we nearly always reverse sections also! I find it realll y is a big help (boost) to ride/practise with others!! As when we ride with Bix Barton he ALWAYS wants to beat us to the clean and gets upset if he doesnt, so that in turn makes us all try that bit harder!! If only to beat him!! I suppose it depends on how good at self motivation you are. Im **** and often cant be a***d to even try , especially on my own but a few of you makes it that bit more interesting!! Plus someone to pick yer fat a*** up after you have looped the bike!! We practise a bit at a mates farm (a few times a year at most when we can be a***d!! ) and mark out sections with rocks and ride a section until we have all cleaned it or have had enough.

Yup just more air Wallace!! Never used tyre soap, just good old fairey and blow the bugger up till she pops on. I usually go to 70psi ish , once she pops then youve got enough in, watch yer eyes for flying fairey though!!! I once had me eyes filled when the tyre popped on and fairey exploded into my face !! Not good , especially when you try and wash yer eyes so that you can see again and all you do is make bubbles!!

Well done Amos and the Spanish invasion!! Heard a few folk comment on the 'noise', yup they have a bit more bark, but.....the 270beta has a fair old pop. A few of them failed the noise test last year. But my main point would be.... at an increasing number of mainly 'modern' events lads are riding old 4 strokes , many of which have NO rear silencer on at all , (usually cubs) and make a right old racket.{im not saying they dont sound good!} But these seem to be acceptable due to ?? just nostalgia maybe.? Before folks get carried away with the noise dabate (and im sure there will be quite a bit) i dont hear of many problems running the increasing ammount of classic and twinshock events!! If the bike glides over stuff like it looked like it did at the scott Munch, we will have no bother!!

Not sure , depends on weather and also bin and seen one in action and so just a case of waiting
