Im with you 100% Munch. I only got into the date thing cos folks were hassling me, to know when it is coming. My mate even rang the dealer up the other day himself to see if my bike had come. They are more bothered than me. Sounds like im in the same boat as you, didnt know a price , just left a deposit even before the bike had been seen in Japan. So didnt know what it looked like either! The only downside is that ive sold me old bike so ive nowt to ride at the mo. But like i said to someone yesterday , i would rather wait into next year if it meant that when the bike comes it was 100%. And not left to Joe public to iron out all the problems at their expense , like some other recent revolutionary lightweight bikes!! It comes when it comes and by then i should have got all me loverly Japanese bolt on goodies!!

Right im back here for the p*** take.!!!! Apparently as Dabster has kindly said, the 4rt's at the scott are pre -production models , and for one good reason.... They are busy have so many siestas (spelling?) in spain that they aint got their arses round to getting the bike into production yet!! So MY date (and a few others) are now in the hands of when the spanish decide to strike bat. I wasnt , my dealer chaps or any one else werent bulling but they cant get me my winning machine to me until the sun goes down a bit and folks start to build em!!! Please form an orderly queue

Not read the 'full' write up about 'Pep' but i must admit that i was somewhat suprised to read of his retirement, at what 18 or something?? But as you both mention and im not sure on the state of motorsport in the US , but on tv seems to be ok , but our MAJOR motorsports events in Europe seem to be going the same way. Obviously F1 seems to be teetering on the edge of a sharp downhill slope due to extreme high costs and only a handfull of rich and powerfull teams. WRC (of which i have always been a fan) seems now to be about 30 cars[at best] , due again to the richest few , entries not too many years ago were around about 100+ for an event. So again the spectacle for the observer gets less and less and even though rallying is one of my favourite sports , my interest has seriously waned. The basis of bringing these motorsports to the public seems to involve big bussiness and corporate B*****ks. Now im very small fry as im sure most of us are , but they are targeting men in suits. Where are they when they get their free boxes?? Not at the events that is for sure. So the hardcore 'working class' fans are priced out and yet in the next breath are bemoaned about the fact that they dont turn up to support the last remaining super heroes!! As above , put all the WTC riders in the SSDT and i bet Andy's money that not one could ride the event clean!! No daft sections just lots of good quality stuff and an tester or too and plenty of road miles under their belt and as used to be good enough for the best in the world xx amount of years ago a winner would be found. And all specletaters would go happy knowing that the best in the world had ben tested over sections that they could have ridden , but extratced a few of the worlds best. 1st rule of all if you want to spice up and sell a product , at least make it watchable to the people who know and those that have just found it and go wow. Right thats me for now

I notice from the pics which may or may not be the 100% finished article that the new bike does not carry Fuji's name on it as the last few bikes have carried Dougs. As refering to the world champ , how come Doug gets his name on as worl champion and not Fuji , any ideas?????

Sounds like you should have gone for the non-uk Racing model Luke. It sounds exactly what you were after, although not imported by Uk's official inporter, as it is not deemed fit for the UK conditions. Anyone know of anyone in the uk who does or can produce specific paddock shirts complete with sponsors logos etc, like the factory pit stuff?? I know of plenty of folks that do screen printing on plain shirts etc but we are after a load of shirts making with good quality two colour shirts with various logos printed / embroidered on. Just thought that there may be a specific company that specialise in motorcycle stuff as they would know the kind of thing that we are after?? Any ideas , cheers

Yep Dabster Tom was at Rochdale , but mainly cos he won the 2 day last year so nowt left to prove on that score as he won so has moved on . Im sure that Mike Brown will do the same after this year!! Showed that he can do it and moved on!!

I should bloody well hope so Ishy, i ordered mine and gave cash before the japan round,before anyone had seen the bike and said i wanted one. I knew that when pics came out that folks might want one and again more folks said they wanted one after they had seen it run. So being a vain ******* i wanted one 1st as i did with the sy, so i have orderd on faith and nowt else!! Going no further , we will see!!!!!!!

He was riding at the East Yorks 2 day , he has helped for years and it was the 1st time that he was eligable to ride. So would make sense to do so, also quite a bit of it on home ground. So would be one that he would want to win , but not sure if he won it asi havent seen any results.

Well my Mont has been promised for the 15th , but wont get an event out of till just after the scott where i shall be eagerly watching how i should be riding it!! Now gossip and just purely mutterings from an observer at the weekend on the raga/ doug thing maybe... I must stress that this was only an opinion passed to me and am not claiming anything or too sure on the correctness of the facts but.... Apparantly a certain young [Jan] expert rider whose father owns Radson radiators (Dougs sponsor) {still??} now all ride gas gas , and so there has been talk that there may be influence for Doug to move to the g. guf factory if Raga were to go to the montesa?? To carry the sponsorship with him?? 100% talk , but maybe worth looking at?? Who would carry the bigger paycheck, the factory or the collective of personal sponsors??
