  4. Notice the rolling eyes?? Well that was to show that i was been sarcastic and was trying to inject a wee smile . One of the lads that we ride with complained of a squealing brake and so his mate (at the start of the east yorks 2day too!!) poured engine oil all over his front disc & caliper (as a prank obviously), he didnt have a front brake for the trial, but it never squeaked all day !!!!!!!!!!!!
  5. With a slight referance to the rubbish that has been spouted about the xispa being a copy of apparantly another bike , how about just for starters a bit of fun with the new beta evo...? Please feel ree to play along to this new game.... Exhaust system------scorpa easy ??--certainly front pipe main frame Montesa 314 ?? Front frame down spars---trw future trail montesa?? Kick start----gasser Wheels--sperco ?? Rear fender--gasser?? remember, no points are awarded here. This is just for fun!!!
  6. yup no probs to those in the know
  7. Yes well spotted, but not true!! The guy who runs the ebor website as away on holiday this week and so the site cannot be updated and so Keith Ellis rang me and asked me to put it up onto the Trials Central front page and here because it IS CANCELLED!!!!!
  8. This is in here as well as on the front page as plenty of you come straight to here! 'Due to the recent constant rain, the venue is far too wet especially the car parking as even just getting in and out will be nigh on impossible! Even with a dry week there will be no prospect of the venue becoming dry enough to run the trial and so the club have had to regrettably cancel after talks with the landowner! PLEASE LET EVERYONE YOU KNOW WHO MAY HAVE BEEN GOING TO RIDE TO AVOID THEM TURNING UP AND HAVING TO BE TURNED AWAY!!! ' Thanks
  9. 3M scotchbrite- continous rubbing in same direction will give you the desired effect, same for 4rt tanks etc
  10. Do road bikes not use petrol then ??
  11. Ok, playing devils advocate again. I'm sure that there are many on here with better memeories than my own about promised ssdt appearances... But i am 99% certain that nearly ALL of the modern era of bikes were destined to appear at the ssdt for the 1st time but didnt make it amid the hype for one reason or another ...wasnt it the case for the sy,4rt etc?? Let alone the overblown exaggerations of the sherco 4t being twice as good as the new at the same time 4rt and how their simpler technology was the way forward....... which one went on to sell hundreds and which went on to quietly disappear?? and why did did everyone let them go quiet after slagging off the monty so vociferously?? This has and will go on forever, trials riders and most involved in the sport dont like change and always slag it off until it becomes the norm!! Certain Spanish 'team' bikes that are aimed at clubman that dont even pretend to be team bikes are filled with japanese bits to enable them to be tuned & reliable. The few that cant even guarantee that just blatantly cheat by taking and using many machines in the one trial, into the van with one and out with another, which have been caught and proved in the Scott & ssdt! Lets not shoot folks down before they have a chance to produce a bike. Hell even us tossers get a chance on here so why shouldnt they
  12. Funny how people forget!! I seem to recall that a certain supposedly 'copied' brand used to spin bearings in engine casings for fun, and more than a few were known to run backwards. Maybe unlike another famous brand Xispa dont want their customers to have the headache and wallet pain of the doing the development for them and finding the problems and weakness's etc
  13. I thought that i sounded quite good actually, a real nice note & crisp motor
  14. Re read the original question slower and try again

    Flat Tank

i Have a nice new orange one also to go on my bike ....
  16. what a load of B*****ks!! get it powder coated!! Powder coating is only a problem if...... a clown or monkey is applying it ( a lot of them are) and they do industial stuff by day and yer mate will do it for a pack of fags. As far as finish and thickness goes. (i can put it on thinner than most guys can put 2K spray paint if required, so thickness issue is a load of rubbish and down to application) .The only people who struggle to get it back off again are the cheapo boys who dont have a decent chemical dip as you can just strip it off and lightly clean it and coat it again....if actually needed. Powder coating can be sanded as normal paint, touched in as normal paint and polished up exactly like normal paint! A chip in powder is no different to a chip in paint surely?? If it was 'right' to start with? If it is good enough for Crecent suxuki BSB, team honda TOCA, Team audi DTM, Motovision suzuki MX & british championship classic road race winning bikes then im sure a good old trials bike is fine with a nice coat of powder.!! ALWAYS REMEMBER, the best paint that you can buy in the world is only as good as the man who applies it !! *disclaimer* this is in no way anything other than an account of my life experience !!
  17. Apparently they are built using a lot of Lister tuning parts in the engine !!
  18. You mean they wont know wether it's a xispa or a gasser ?? i presume you are getting at?
  19. I thought that the Yanks had the equivelent in that they employ cheap labour from or get things made in Mexico? I think the more competition the better for all concerned with regard to the bikes. It is just like dealers the ones who give rubbish service and rubbish products will eventually fall by the wayside to leave the good ones.......who then get complacent and fat and then the go......etc.... etc The Xispa looks a nice little thing and i reckon plenty of folks will give it shot and with good reason, as has been said plenty of times before they all copy each other and all cry foul at some point or other. Just look at all the 2t models from each manufacturer and look how much alike they really are.
  20. Mmm, disappointingly not with each other as we were led to believe
  21. Dabster, you have a replica that doesn't match mechanicaly or visually to the repsol as you well know! They use similar air to standard in the tyres though apparantly
  22. Ok and staying with that, why then do people tend to give the reason that they buy a gasser is cos they are light and manouverable?? Is it easier to bunny hop a 25lb mtb or a 4rt?? Also which is easier to flick round 360', the answer is really yup you could lose weight but... as long as you are fully flexible then there is no need to be superlight as it is you who are trying to move the bike, not the bike you!
  23. They just sit nicely behind the casing, only the foldable part of the pedal protrudes! Reach etc aint a problem, they are especially usefull if you have the rear foothangers that are set further back! As some folks then struggle to reach the standard pedal!
