I got the x-cting section jacket from a shop on ebay and it is great, really thick warm removable liner and comfortable allowing full range of movement think it was about 79 qiud

Does anyone know what the deal is with the rev 3 rear mudgaurd and a number plate as the rear mudgaurd has that upswept bit at the end not that it makes much differece to my older rev 3 as the mudgaurd was that high you couldn`t see the reg number anyway. But is there any sort of leagal reqiurement.

Stator

Was changing the oil in my R6 and as it was draining heard the phone in the house went in to answer the phone came back out 10 mins later and decided to put the new oil in forgetting all about the sump plug to realise i am standing in a pool of oil Doh!!!

Ok the final instalment called Lampkins and they said although i may be getting some sort of voltage out of the stator it may not be enough but i ordered the CDU box, stator coil and ht coil and it turned out that it was the stator after all again thanks for all the help i recieved from everyone who replied and hope this may go someway to help anyone in the future

Dont know if it has been mentioned but check the water pup impelar shaft for wear as the rubber oil seal wears a groove in it. from what i remember the shaft is about 20 qiud ish i had problems with mine dumping water into the gear box and overheating turned out that was the cause

Ok i am listing this to help others in future but wouldnt mind hearing from someone to get there opinions K i have connected a lamp to the live out of the stator and am getting enough to light it but on the other side of the console (the little box that the wires go into and the kill switch runs through) i have nothing between there and the ht coil. With the console out of ciurcut I mesured the earth wire on one side of the box comming out at the other side for continuity which i have so i mesured for continuity between the two red wires one conects up from the Stator the other connects to HT coil and had no path through I then proceded to take that box out of ciurcut to see if i could get a spark by runing wire straight from stator to HT coil but that seems to have shorted my Ht coil out am gonna phone Lampkins tommorow but does anyone know what is in the console ie is it a junction box or does it have a specific purpose within the system ie some sort of voltage regulator bearing in mind the 12 volt regulator for Fan Etc is a completly seperate box. Thanks for all your help so far and will post further steps taken to rectify

Yeah been trhrough 2 plugs both brand new have compleetely disconected stator and reconected checked terminals all seems good

Before anyone says yes i know it is a very bad idea to do any sort of maintanance the weekend of a Trial no matter how simple if it aint broke dont fix it and all that but anyway I have broke that rule and now it is broke need some advise please I have a 2003 Beta rev 3 and decided since the weather was getting wet to seal the plug where the wires go into the flywheel casing before comp this weekend as it has started taking in water. To ensure that it made a good seal striped it compleetely ie Stator out everything ( stator was replaced with 2004 version about a year ago) sealed it up got it looking all good now i aint got no spark I have checked the resistance of the stator to be 1.34 Megaohms and i thought that to be a bit high but its a reading as opposed to openciurcut saying to me there is a compleete ciurcut there and should generate volts have done the simple stuff like disconect kill switch but dont want to throw to much money at it cos am buying new rev3 in dec and am away on a course till then near enough so any advice please oh yeah the key is still there and i have lined the stator up aswell

When i was starting to ride competitions my first bike was an old Yamaha ty175 and as i moved up to newer machines the expeirience of riding the old machine only made it easier ie still working as hard to get through but not needing too and if i could stand and balance on that i could do it on anything so wouldnt worry bout the techno its ideal for a starter or even if you are not planning serios stuff you havent thrown a lot of money at a bike to destroy it god forbid

If you are still struggling to get the tyre on to the bead it may be because it has been lying on its side or had items on top when delivered if you put a tie down strap round the tyre just to push the side walls out onto the edge of the rim that normally helps if using a ratchet one stic a pice if old rubber under the metal ratchet as i have seen them tear blocks of new tyres when peop do it.

Ok that clears thing up i will make myself known to you i used to ride the lochaber trials my uncle used to ride your trials and i was also a member of the Inverness club admitedly things seem to have changed a fair bit since i was last riding but didn`t realise this much i can only offer my appoligies but to be fair you were abrupt on the phone and qiuck to get rid of me but i am not saying i am completly blamless maybee i should have looked a little deeper into your website again sorry

Its a fair way to travel for me to get to it and get sent packing might just come along to the woodside one when i get back instead and hae a chat then with whoever is in charge see if i cant sort something out as its only ten mins drive Hope it dont dammage chances of Scottish entry as am planning it next year
