  1. from the title i was half expecting a girl in a bikini with oversized um……….. anyway nice hauler rob
  2. the guys might be good riders but i stopped watching after the comment about riding in possible restricted areas, very irresponsible in my eyes. every sport i've ever been involved in is considered a renegade / rebellion sport. trials, mx, jet skiing, skateboarding, bmx. i've worked very hard to convey a positive professional image every where i go. i even go so far as to make sure to drive according to all state laws while pulling any of my toys to help maintain that image of lawfulness. not to saw i drive like a maniac otherwise. as all world governments do their best to close land we need to fight that with a responsible acting membership and we should govern ourselves by letting these guys in the videos know we don't appreciate them taking all our hard work and tossing it in the garbage. sorry but that's my opinion. the same goes for the Julian guy i saw in some other video.
  3. i couldn't ride any better if bou, raga and caby gave me their bikes. i love my bike, it weights less than i do and is easier to pick up off the ground after i fall. yes i believe there should be weight limits for wtc and the manufactures will build oem bikes at that limit and modify the works bikes as needed. in the general scheme of things it's not that much money really. but the weight of the bike is not why we have poor turn out in wtc or amateur events, it's the general world economy. the ridicules green movement thats sweeping the earth except for the countries that are really polluting the earth kill riding areas.
  4. pretty cool, almost looks like my riding area. you just have more natural rocks. rob
  5. i was taught to ride it the way a road racer would, lean bike out away from the camber with all the weight on the inside peg. it lets the bike stand up straighter and keeps more of the contact patch of the tire on the ground, if you lean the bike into the camber you only ride on the tire edge not the whole tire. it takes some practice but i find it wrks very well. also look at your target / destination while riding. rob
  6. for me, find something you enjoy doing as a secondary hobby that involves being physical. if you enjoy it you will do it. if it is physical than it will help with trials. anything is better than sitting at home watching tv and doing nothing. most folks after the age of 30 have families, jobs and other responsibilities that take them away from mid week hobbies and gym training. for me if i can't jump up and down for long during the week then you will probably not be able to hop around from rock to rock like toni boy on the weekend…... rob
  7. go baldilocks, now your talking my lingo. get the government out of my life, never happen though.
  8. the sport needs rescuing from technology? message sent from my top of the line latest and greatest iPhone, iPad, samsung 4 50g electronic gadget. so we attract more youngsters by going backwards to riding dinosaurs? i don't even know what 4kg's mean in the real world but i love my lightweight bike and i want more of whatever is better. i've been riding since 1975 and i can remember how bad those things were compared to my 2013. i'm not sure about anywhere outside of the US but here kids don't go outside much and the ones that do play soccer where everyone wins and scores are not counted. parents don't want little Johnny to get hurt. video games are better and they keep kids quite so parents can watch reality tv instead of going outside and living. we're living in hard financel times. bikes even used ones cost a lot. trials never was or will be a popular sport in the US. it's slow, in the remote outdoors and takes years of hard work to master. the ADD generation won 't really like it. the tradional large trials enthuisist countries like spain, france, england are all having financial troubles. i have lots of friends that don't blink an eye to buy a new $400.00 iPhone every year for their 6 year old and spend hundreds on the new game platform every christmas along with every new video game but they can't understand why i would by an $8000.00 bike that only cost me about 3 dollars a week to have a few hours of fun on the weekend AND doesn't even have a seat. most of these parents, fathers i'm talking about are younger than my by 5 to 10 years and are overweight and look older than i do, i attribute trials to keeping fit and younger than my years. in the world championship the sponsor options are limited more now than ever before so there are fewer paid riders and this makes it even harder for privateer efforts to travel all over the world to even try and compete. i really believe that money is the real reason for the lack of rider attendance. look at the x games well attended spectator wise and sponsor financed but mx sales and participants or down also, why? expendable money. my 2 cents rob
  9. go albert! http://www.photobysergio.fr/cabestany-gava-video.html
  10. i change mine once each year at the end of the season, wether it needs it or not. i've never had a plug fail. if it does there is usually something else wrong. lean / rich something is up. rob
  11. 51, i've been riding trials since 1989. love it, great way to stay young rob
  12. for me i have to wear my cti knee braces, i've got torn acl's both knees. braces were cheaper than surgery. can't miss work for such an extended time. falling is an art form unto itself, i'm better at it than riding. falling is part of the game, trials usually doesn't pose an injury problem like the go fast sports. training for sports is about injury prevention as much as it is for your ability to compete. workout, stretch and ride according to your skill level. pads only really stop bruises, cuts that sort of thing. i have a high tolerance for pain and i'm not afraid of scares. so i wear gloves, t-shirt, pants, knee braces and boots. i got a huge cut / scare from one of those crazy trees they grow in the austin, tx area. i just brushed a branch and that succor tore a gash in my arm. you can't protect everything so learn where you fall and wear what you feel comfy with. my motto from my racing days and advice to racers is this "dress for the crash, it's gonna happen eventually" rob

    No Filter

if you can contact the previous owner and ask if he cleaned it and forgot to reinstall it at sale time, hopefully this has happened and not that he was riding it…. good luck rob
  14. good luck, one year i did that down here in the south and we used a flat bed trailer about 16' long it was made to have two big steps when attacked from the rear and four even bigger steps when attached from the sides. i made ramps to alter the degree of difficulty for the less experienced and all i had to do was to tow the trailer in ride and tow the trailer out, very quick and easy. you can also use the trailer to haul the bikes and some other smaller obstacles in and out of the arena. if you can recruit some help it would be better to have a dedicated team to move and be responsible for the obstacles. good luck and post some photos. rob
  15. just found this on youtube, sorry if it was posted before rob
  16. hey zippy, that would be great for my bad knees.............. then i would need one of those anti stall clutches and i'm set
  17. LOL, i really want to find that monty python clip about arguing, that would fit here. anyway mopwepa the topic got everyone talking and got rid if some boredom, lol. start another topic so we can have some more fun. how about which side of the bike is the proper side for a kick starter?????????????????? rob
  18. i've seen guys your size ride with no mods at all it's what you get used to. if i were taller i would go for the bar risers and leave everything else stock rob
  19. i never really understood physics, that's why i spend so much time falling down. but i rearly love listening to guys talk about gearing(not) one guy says he's gearing up his bike and the other says he's gearing down his bike.......... oh well rob
  20. trials in the US is such a low turnout thing anyway. the problem for people like me is travel time and money to travel. i looked at the scheduale and thought hey maybe i could ride TTC. kansas is a maybe but not NE, CO or PA. for the pro class sure a national series should consist of multiple events across the nation but for us mere sportsmen there needs to be something like in mx with loretta lynn's and crown a amateur champ over a long weekend. just run all classes at pro events as a support class. my 2 cents also it's been a bunch of years since i rode a national, i would love to again but again i don't have much to gain from riding one event as i get to compete with guys who do ride nationals in STRA events so for me it's like a mini national. rob
  21. just ride it, all will be well rob
  22. ride, ride, ride, ride and then ride some more. just ride................. it's a hobby go ride have fun with friends. you will improve more if you ride with others. weight train, cardio for your health and sanity during the week and ride on the weekends with friends for fun. if you compete compete for fun against your friends, it's about having fun it's not your occupation. i find that trail ridding improves your fitness and gets you out in the woods having fun rob
