type in explorer (internet) vintage kawasaki trials and motocross look on the site for fred and deb's bits you'll find these brackets reproduced in stainless they have to be sent from new zealand but are excellent!
good luck, Nick.

I know this sounds wierd but ive got two ossa mars both same year mk11 250's the engine numbers are about 300 away from each other! standing from the rear of each bike looking straight down at them one has the engine offset by at least 1" to the left the other bike the engine is dead centre!
what the f**k's going on with this , anyone know???
-
Yep ive got a sherpa 199a in bits at the mo, a ratty ossa mar (runs ok) and one thats half done(A1 CONDT.) also a kt250 thats almost finished (A1 cont.) also a 1981 suzuki pe175 thats nearly done, your right about doing these bikes up so good (not to metion the cost's) that your scared to bloody ride them offroad!!!
the ones that will get to a high standard i'll proberly only use when its summer, as you know the mud and wet soon scuffs/knackers that new look! ive still got a 250 majesty and a beamish/ yam pinkie that i can use allyear round , these are also in nice condition but bloody hell thats what these bikes were designed to be used for in the first place.
-
it wasn't that good when i got it,but still nice! a guy called tom who lived in thame( bucks) had it before me , he done it up. i didn't like it to ride! footrests very high also the extra weigted flywheel made it slow to respond to the throttle! dunno just didnt suit , much perferd the std kt250 to ride.
-
sorry chaps but i want to try and save the original footrest mounts is there any oversized footpegs ie HEBO that will fit straight on to the above! without cutting/grinding/or welding anything?
also orderd a alloy miller tailpipe for my yamaha framed 250 this had to have an 1"1/2 cut of the end and a 4" alloy bracket made up to bolt it on? but sounds and looks great! tried the 10/41 final gearing and its spot on the bike picks up and feels right now! ill proberly go for 11/45 just to save less stress on the front sprocket or wouldn't this make a lot of difference?
also has anyone tried the uprated fork springs that b+j racing (usa) sell?
cheers Nick.

Best way to unseize a two stroke engine(top end) thats been standing for a long time is to pour diesel down the plug hole and leave it for a few days! ive just unseized a ossa mar thats been standing for 18 yrs!!!
best way turn the mageto! this tip also cleans up the piston/rings a treat!

Hi chaps im restoring a ossa mar 1976 mk11 , ive aquired the correct amal 627 carb for it, but when fitted it will not flood on the tickler, the fuel flows ok and theres fuel in the float bowl but when the tickler's held down it just wont over flow so the bike wont start? also im tryng to save the original IDEAL fuel tap but the black rubber tube inside has perished? anyone got a spare or knows someone who has?
cheers Nick.

Woody l agree the 250 does seem gutless, i took my reedvalve beamish out with the majesty and rode them back to back up some sections! the beamish could easily do anything the majesty could!!!
i paid top money for my majesty thinking that there the ultimite twinhock? im not convinced now , my mate was weve me (he rides trials) and reckond the beamish was a better package much nicer to ride???
wish id not bother'd with it, but spent to much on it now? oh well!!!

I might leave mine as is at the mo, its white tank/side panel with yamaha blue (re indigo) frame ? looks nice will try and get some pics up soon! when i bought this bike john cane rebuilt the engine and said it had a majesty 320 flywheey fitted as it was very shiny silver???? but after buying a supposed 1978 std 250 one on ebay i weighed both and were identical? 6lb/6oz i think? i wanted a std re lighter one as the bike seemed a bit sluggish and would'nt rev quick enough? but i may put this down to the raised gearing mentioned above! 1nd/2nd gears would've been like using 3rd and 4th in the sections, no wonder most stuff i had to use mainly 1st!!!
-
woody i bought the foot rest assy from some guy from up north, he said to grind off the original peg mounts then bolt the bracket using the s/arm pivot bolt (top) then screw a bolt into the lower hole (the chassis tube that runs straight through) but theres no thread there? ill have to weld a nut in each side to sort this ,they look like they'll line up ok!
i should have just bought a alloy tail pipe from millers and bolted it straight to the original middle pipe(to much bloody hassle cutting front pipes to match,oh well you live and learn?
when got my yam framed majesty (250) the gearing was well to high 12/41 ive now got a 10 front but whats the best gearing 11/45? also im going to get it back to std colour yellow but what about the left side panel did they ever come in yellow or do you have to spray a white one?
-
Yes tell me about it ! to much ****ing about all the time buying stuff that dos'ent match up like it should!
they should'nt sell these parts unless they bolt straight on with no messing!
i've got the same wes system but now got to buy a front pipe to match! more expense then to learn that the bloody front pipe i'snt a good fit , cant anyone out there get things right! i orderd some oversized footrests for my majesty yam only to descover that theres no way to bolt the lower mount plate up as mines a 1980 early frame!

I used to own that red gollnor kwasaki!

best way to get a manual is try ebay (clymer) , as for seat covers dave renham bultaco uk has fantastic copys of the original i think they were all the same from 73-79, tanks are like hens teeth again your only hope will be ebay expect to pay

One giveaway to tell that it might be an ex works bike would be by looking at the clutch actuating cover i think kawasaki used the mx type rack/pinion mag clutch cover its a dead giveaway by being painted black and very slim at the front doing away completly with the oil pump and its compartment?
are you sure its not a gollner KT?

Hi Ive got a 1979 beamish 250 reed valve model and i think its an excellent bit of kit, the power is very soft but it pulls well, perhaps yours just needs a new piston and rebore?
i also have a 1979 250 majesty yam and can tell you theres hardley anything between the two of them back to back! the suzuki feels a bit long in the steering and the yam feels a bit more modern (short wheelbase, higher ground clearence) but id say the beamish has the better engine overall(by the way the yams had a full engine rebuild inc gen,yam piston)

Hi i was wondering if anyone out there has fitted the WES full exhaust system to a yamaha framed ty250 majesty! the middle alloy silencer has a smaller diameter than the front downpipe so it wont just slip on?
do i need a sammy miller front downpipe? if so does this need shorterning? i dont wont to use a rubber sleeve to make the join as this looks a right mess!
also the oversized footrests and hangers that major suppliers are selling latley (the type where you have to grind of the original peg mounts to fit) i can see that you bolt the top part to the swingarm pivot but the bottom mount theres no thread to bolt to! just a long tube part of the chassis the only way i can see round this is to use 10mm 12" studding an bolt each bottom mount to each end of this?
