    Cab 50

good on yer mate , i bet its a right laugh!!!
  3. Im interested in adding one of these (if i can find one?) it wont be a rigid!!! to my collection as ive always loved the look of these bikes, how much are these in good condition? what year/ model best? how effective are these in pre65 trials (dont quote len hutty as thats more to do with the rider than the bike! ) also can one get used to the rear brake being on the left side of the machine as ive always been on continental re japs style bikes most of my life! pointers what to look for in case of being ripped off? thanks in advance lads
  4. all gripper spares are much harder to find than mar ones id try to get on ebay (spain) youve a good chance there as there more of the later ossa's in spain than anywhere else IMHO,
  5. heres some answers , The bikes a yamaha frame cant tell you about any engine mods (john cane trials and trails rebuilt the engine just before i'd bought it) even if i pulled the engine down i havent anything to compare with? though it pulls lovely very smooth? its got the larger alloy coffin tank fitted . Still on std footrests at the moment , the std front pipe was already chromed i just added a sm alloy silencer which had about 1" cut from the end and a support bracket to make it fit? the guy who had it before me powdercoated the frame and fork in this colour as he reconned that was the original frame colour when he aquirred it ??? (i know it should be yellow!) but looks nice in this colour so what the hell? as you can see from the condition i havent used it much as ive spent a fortune plus the last 9 months landscaping my garden so next year its going to get some use cheers
  6. Heres my majesty 250 isnt she a beauty? enjoy!!!
  7. were the mods done on a yamaha majesty or a godden frame? i see your still using std ty forks (as on mine) i find mine to soft ? any tips to firm them up? i think B+J racing have stopped doing uprated springs for the ty250 i wonder if sherpa 250 springs will fit as i have some old forks in the garage?
  8. Its a 77 model as its got slots in the sump plate area, 76 models had very small holes in this area? nice bike but ruined somewhat with the crossover arangement with the gear / rear brake pedals? shame about the seat needs original cover and foam to really set it off (ive got the foam for this model in my garage!)
  9. 16 april 1972 held at burrington, Ludlow. Yorkshire team won , mick andrews finished best individual (ossa) with a loss of 27 marks! clerk of the course was mike winwood. there was even a works cotton-minarelli team entered!!! sorry cant help with the rest?
  10. Ive got a 79 reed valve 250! which is a great bike, things to look out for are cracks around the headstock gusseting on both early and late models? ive got a yam 250 majesty to! and the beamish is (IMHO) equal to this model, the majesty's got a shorter wheelbase so turns easier while the beamish is longer so the bike wont flip so easy in the dry! power is soft but has plenty of bottom end and smooth as hell! just what you need. Gearbox's can play up (unusual for a jap model) sometime this is down to the placement of a shim in the suzuki beamish owners manual in the wrong place! hence the gearbox trying to select two gears at once!!!
  11. for anyones who's interested there's a fab article on 786 gon in the classic motorcycle june 1988 yes i know its years ago but you could try ebay or when at a autojumble try to search it out?

    Vintage Enduro

Hi all does anyone anywhere run vintage enduro events? ive got a couple of old(read it175/ pe175) bikes that i'd love to give a good outing but where? please dont suggest turning up at the latest TBEC event with one of these! i'tll be like turning up at the local trial and riding a sherpa 325 on the hard route against scorpa's, betas, etc!!! ,
  17. cheers arun 1664 , the it175 i picked up last weekend its the G model with the TZ power jet carb fitted!!! anyway i thought i'd give it a quick blast only to find the front wheel will come right up in the first three gears!!! ive also got a yam wr200 with a FMF fitted this wont do this?????? the IT makes the wr200 feel like an xr400! it must weigh about 200lbs cant wait to get the PE sorted (needs new top end) hope this performs as well? ,p.s thanks for the advise im already struggling to get plastics and such like! just out of interest trying to do the PE in super condition so will be on the look out for a second tank(pref plastic, and side panels) so can swap over if using it off road, the IT's completly original right down to the small yam speedo and lights!!! but its a bit scruffy so fine for trailriding and offroad fun? the reason im doing the suzuki right up is because i think they look stunning when done! regards Nick
  18. Your right marky g, you can do it for around
  19. A short history on 786 GON: just thought i'd post this if anyones remotely interested! comerfords had gov 132 for sale at
  20. Sorry jam i forgot to add ive also got a yam wr200 for greenlaning etc! its just my mate faniced it on a trials bike (van or trailerd there of course! ) just to do something different thats all! take things much slower and poss, find some nice banks WHY? to play on? ( out of sight of course)
  21. Hi guys , just wanted an opinion on whats the best bike out of a 250 beamish or a yam 250 majesty (i own both) to use for some green laning (twisty tight stuff) and in between minimal roadwork! i'd guess the suzuki as its quiter and smoother, less vibey? but havent tried both on the road so dont know? can only insure one of them so which one? (i know these bikes are not road bikes but a friend has just bought a 250 beamish and suggested doing the above!) thanks in advance.
  22. Thanks for the replies, i think i remember you subira if you used to ride the beamish with a mate(same bike) was it a fantic 200 later? also remember a kawa kt250 being ridin there sometimes some kid from my school as i remember! would there be a problem riding in there now? it would be great to have a ride around my old stomping ground! do the council own the whole wood going right back to feather bed lane or just the dells? cheers Nick.
  23. will do! if you need a top quality ossa seat cover contact bultaco uk as dave has some real nice ones that are almost exact copys of the original plus he did have the original (copy) bomb end silencer. the tank decals can be a nightmare to apply! depending if a mk11 alloy tanks fitted or not (very curved) stick with it there fine bikes.
