  1. Miss Bultaco will be back soon, my new workshop is ready... Less room but well organized the new garage, new bench...
  2. In the box πŸ˜„. Engine is now closed, as I will move soon to Delaware I will have no time the next month for it. I have to: - Install the engine in frame, - Ignition and electrical circuit to manage. - All cables, - Exhaust to do : I have some parts but still work to have the line finish, I will be back, thanks for the supports πŸ˜‰,,,,
  3. Thank you for such nice wordsπŸ™‚, Piston is in place, pin is to tight (I never had such issue in the Japanese bikes πŸ˜†)... Probably the cylinder and cylinder head tomorrow...
  4. Piston : Help ... I have no arrow in the top, A or B in the exhaust side ? I will put the "B" with the holes probably for the lub oil ...πŸ˜’ To reduce the costs, I will keep the piston (the cylinder has no scratches and is very clean)
  5. I need to adjust the clutch nuts....
  6. Seals are in place, now I have to tight at 75 ft/lb which is πŸ€ͺ...
  7. It was a very good advice to send the engine to an experience technicien. I have now to close all ☺️, ...
  8. Engine is coming back with new rollers and crankshaft rebuilt... I will have to replace the seals, clutch, new electronic ignition... 😊. a cool video: 🀩
  9. Done this morning, Bultaco paradise in NY state 😊, -7 deg F (-14 C) .... I could clean up the pieces at home, reassembly will go fast. However to adjust the clutch, the engine needs to be in the frame following the the workshop manual 😐 . But I could set the new ignition in the workbench 😏,
  10. I follow the advices: I will drop tomorrow to Bultaco NY my engine , I have a new connecting rod bought from them I will use it. The bearings from the gear box will be replace too, when open ...😭
  11. Thanks for the help πŸ˜ƒ... I have a bad news, I removed the seals in both sides from the crankshaft. When i turn it I have a light friction noise. After investigations, i see a small play in the shaft (ignition side), the seal has been removed before and not properly reinstalled πŸ˜‘. I need to open the crankcase, but I will not do it myself πŸ˜™.
  12. Tool arrived, I am ready to replace the seals... I have a question: I try to change gear (I feel the motor is in neutral), nothing seems happen ? For me it was possible to change the gears when the engine was in the bike with the chain πŸ™„.
  13. Yes I will not use the dish washer 😏, my cylinder head will stay with the patina 😘. However I will paint the cylinder in black.... As I will move soon, I will store my frame in a climate storage. I have still the engine for my lonely evenings 😏. I am still waiting my clutch tools and the postal services seems to have some issues with the pandemic.
  14. Still waiting tool, I am cleaning my cylinder and cylinder head after 40 years πŸ˜‰. Did someone used the dish machine πŸ˜†? Steam blasting will be the solution πŸ˜’.
  15. I have the socket πŸ˜ƒ In any case when reassembly I will need the clutch retainer. I received the missing seals and new circlips for the piston: Gearbox sprocket oil seal (Bultaco part #160-001) 30 x 40 x 7mm. Gearchange shaft seal (Bultaco part #160-004) 14 x 24 x 7mm.
  16. I feel so bad, I just received an order from them this morning πŸ€”: seals . https://www.inmotiontrials.com/product/bultaco-clutch-holding-tool/
  17. Mechanical job is on way, but the clutch retaining nut don't want to come out... I will need the special tool to hold the hub in place, with an impact wrench I was expecting to get it easily (as the other one in the crank shaft). What are you using, where could we find the specific tools (clutch retainer for Bultaco)? Thank for the help πŸ˜ƒ.
  18. Gas tank is back, just needs the final clear coating 😏..
  19. Today, not a good news: the oil level was low in the gear box, quite half from the requested volume 😏 We have to recognize that the maintenance is not easy, to drain to check the oil volume. What is your experiences with this oil level practice? 🧐
  20. Bloomfield : It could be interesting to open a new topic about frame issues....
  21. oil seal for the shifter ? ♦️
  22. Spare parts issues : oil seal foe the shifter ? Oil seal engine sprocket ? The main seals are easy to find (kit with bearings) but these two πŸ‘€... Thank you
  23. Crank inspection without opening: play from the connecting rod 0.5 mm when 2.5 is allowed. I will change the crank seals left and right, no opening from the main casing scheduled yet ( Will we inspect more after the opening from the clutch casings and seals removed). I see to options: engine rebuilt or very low hours, the sprockets are also "clean" which is another good indication ..
