"Benefit is lower friction (not all balls), which is needed on these old forks" good remark.
I bought double-lip seals, machining the spacers will cost me more than a new set of single-lip...
Thanks again for the support π
-
Damned; Each fork leg has two seals; I need to order another set π.
The main job is to disassemble and clean, small delay...
-
-
Question: why 2 stops for the spring ?
-
last news:
The broken spokes in the rear wheel were replaced by my local mechanic ...
The fork is on way to be rebuilt, I am fighting with the old seals π.
Good news: I found oil in the tubes, without water. I succeed to remove the retaining screws from the
bottom of each tube. π€ͺ. The circlips to keep the seals in place are out of order π.

I finally bought from https://www.inmotiontrials.com/product-category/parts/twinshock/bultaco/seats-bultaco/

Any misalignment holes/screws will induce a seat not in line with the frame...
Someone had this "trouble" in the past ?
-
I bought the seat : https://www.inmotiontrials.com/product-category/parts/twinshock/bultaco/seats-bultaco/
I will had some pictures soon, I need to understand why the seat is not on line with the frame and the gas tank: Frame or position from the screws under the seat ?
Gas tank and seat must be in one piece before lying in the frame...
-
You said: to coat the inside of a 199 Sherpa tank?
Are you doing a liner to prevent leaks ?
-
New seat arrived today π.
I will have to work in the alignement with the frame/ gas tank / seat....
-
Done this morning... the frame is painted.
A nice idea to customize my Alpina :
-
Step by step; I said black but why not grey βΊοΈ.
I used a rust remover π
-
Yes, however the seats are done in Spain, we could probably find cheaper directly from there π....
-
I need a new seat for my 250 Alpina #115 1974.
I found a cheap site in Spain but they don't ship to the US: https://motosluis.com/tienda/index.php?id_product=2858&rewrite=asiento-bultaco-alpina-115-116-137-138&controller=product
I tried this site in NY state, http://www.bultacoclassic.com/, but get any answers from my emails (out of business?)
Any experiences or good address ?
-
Indeed, I will monitor again during the manual sanding.
I received today my set of spokes for the rear wheel, I would recommend Buchananspokes at techsupport@buchananspokes.com.
-

-
Removing the steering head bearings: also the parts in the frame....π
-
Today: Cleaning from the frame with HP water.
Removing the steering head bearings, I am looking for good quality Steering Bearings Tapered (not Chinese one).
The originals were 45 years old, I need 45 more βΊοΈ
-
Shock Absorber screw repaired: drilled and tapped..π
Seems to be a common trouble ?
-
Job is going on ....
