While all this debate is going on, one of the best natural Trials in the country has been cancelled due to lack of entries. ( Bootle Presidents) Just what the hell do riders want ?
-
So long as it starts the bike , what does it matter? you need to get a life
-
Don't worry too much about them because deep down inside they are probably very sad insecure little nobodies, and even deeper inside they know it themselves
-
I know I should present a reasoned, logical argument for the introduction of these rules but all I can say is that all the Trials and Enduro Committe has done is make legal what is already happening. With my personal head on all I can say is that anyone who believes that full no stop is the greatest thing since hovis went sliced is talking out of their a***. I was introduced to trials during the 70's when we didn't have instant results and to find out the number of 5's you had been given for a momentary stop when the results arrived through the door used to drive me demented, I can't imagine the arguments that would ensue when riders are being given these 5's on the spot. Of course what these people really want is trials of the same severity to the ones in the 70's, if the world had known that then the manufacturers could have saved themselves 35 years work making bikes that actually work. Instead of jumping straight in and whinging I wish people would just look at what has actually happened

Trial is held bang in the Centre of Broughton in Furness. I don,t know of any camping and most lodgings are booked up from one year to the next. Accomodation can be found in towns about 10 miles away such as Ulverston.
From N Yorkshire you need to aim for Junction 36 of the M6 then follow A590 (signed Barrow in Furness) as far as Greenodd then turn right following Whitehaven/Workington A5092/A595 Broughton is aprox 7 miles from there.
Saturday night is usually rocking with several pubs round the square, your wife will love it ( and you)

I really can't believe that so many people have taken this so seriously. If it's only 6 to 8 mm out of line thats pretty accurate for a spanish trials bike of that era
-
Thats brilliant news, well done Jack and all your team !!!!!!!
-
Congratulations Browny, awsome result and championship
-
Thank you to everyone for keeping the faith after we cancelled last year. My postman has suffered overload the last couple of days and the entry is already full. Just a few expert/national course entries available. Again thanks for your interest and you will receive your numbers shortly

Simple answer to this is that you fit the size and shpe of bars which fit your size, shape and riding style, it's up to you
-
This doesn't mean that all these topics will be forgotten about, just that we have lost the oportunity to discuss them together.
FIM rules for Youth is very high on our list of discussions, several people will ensure we don't forget this.
Also we are open to any serious sugestions at any time just approach a committee member at an event or get in touch with Mary or Alison in the office

This is another stick we get beaten with "Why is everything always in Rugby ?"Because that's where the ACU is based is the simple answer. Everywhere is near to somewhere and a long way from somewhere else.
Of the Trials and Enduro Committee only Tim Fairbrother lives anywhere near to Rugby at least 3 of us live about 200 miles away and we all make the trip many times a year.
Midweek in Scotland ? Yeah that would be greeted with a loud cheer, how about the Isle of Wight when the Ladies Championship Trial is on?
Can't win sorry

Dear all, yes you are quite right there is NEVER a perfect date for this meetings to take place, I too will be across the waters in the land of garlic and frogs legs, I too would have loved to have the time to worship at the altar of the great Doctor. In the past this forum has been squeezed in at the end of the year when everyone is fed up and there is no time to make any decent decisions before next years' rules have to be put in the handbook. The Trials and Enduro Committe took the decision to hold this forum earlier in the year so that there is a realistic chance of putting any decent ideas into action. Anyone is welcome to make comments to us at anytime but it is good to get together and put faces to names, share opinions etc. The biggest point is that if nobody comes the T & E Committee will assume that you are all happy and that would never do, would it ?

A couple of months ago Shirty got some serious stick for his alleged self promotion on this site. Well now he has been upstaged ! Only a PR man could manage to write so much about his attempts to get his lardy ar*e into shape in his vain attempt to grab SSDT glory.
Seriously though I realise from experience that several Trials Central readers don't get irony and sarcasm so yes I am only joking.
I have spent several nights with Jake whilst on his world travels and I wish him luck in his SSDT return and hope you will all sponsor his worthy cause.

The ACU have made several attempts to arrange an annual insurance cover and the short answer is that insurers will make this cover available but at a large cost. As Telecat says not all riders take out the day cover now even at the bargain price it is offered ( bearing in mind what it could cost you if something horendous happens when you are on the roads without cover). The ACU offer this insurance for the riders benefit and would encourage all to use it
-
Self promotion diatribe ? Er hello, thats exactly what somebody who believes in his product should be doing!
Don't say that the other importers don't do it coz they do ( World domination and all that )
John Shirt is a thorough professional and has always turned his bikes out in an imaculate manner and is proud of his riders and the efforts they make.
So I say well done John Shirt also well done Nigel Birkett, Malc and Rhoda, John Boy and Caroline, but mostly well done to ALL who finished the Scott.
My special award would go to the guy on the 160 Scorpa, brilliant ! But wasn't Doug just awesome!!!!
So Shirty please feel free to carry on writing you biassed reports coz I, for one, enjoy them
-
Great news Jack. Don't worry you haven't got much to follow, only Dibble and Browny, should be a piece of cake.
Its great to see real talent being apreciated and getting the support it deserves.
Well done to TTT for supporting British riders, it's not something that comes easily to Italians but TTT recognise talent when they see it
-
I reckon Becky Cook is better than Iris Kramer, but it's the scores on the doors that count.
So well done Iris. Laia is a very tallented rider and to beat her in anyway is a great acheivement.
Perhaps it's "World Domination" minus 1

After much discussion the decision has been taken to cancel the Lakes 2 Day Trial.
Despite restrictions on cattle movement etc being eased, many of these changes will not come into place in time for us to gain access to the land in time to organise an event of a standard that we would be happy with.
This has been a very difficult decision to make but our relationship with the landowners has to be the priority.
We apologise to all those who, like us , were looking forward to another great weekend in the Lakes
All cheques sent for entry fees will be shredded.
We thank you for your patience and understanding and assure you that we will make the 2008 event even more special

Sad news. Geoff was very much part of the TT, and Manx motorcycling in general. He was almost as much of a legend as the riders he so admired.Living just across the water I have spent many hours listening to Manx Radio during TT week and Geoff made it come alive as if I was there.

The lakes 2 day committee met on Monday 24th September and discussed the foot and mouth situation. It was agreed to leave the decision until the very last moment. The decesion whether or not to run will be taken on Saturday 29th and will be announced on Trials Central.
We apologise to anyone who has to make travel arrangements but we want to give the event every chance to run, but the landowners have to be the priority. Thanks to all involved for your patience and understanding

Thanks for all who have entered and are patiently waiting their numbers

Entries for 2007 Lakes 2 Day are now full thank you all for your interest.
I will now perform the miracle of making sure you all get to ride with your mates and that you all get a number between60 and 90
-
Please note.
1 Factory Kev was not responsible for starting this rumur
2 I only posted it on TC as a bit of light hearted banter.
3 We at the Lakes 2 day are flattered and delighted that riders are so keen to ride our event that they are already looking out for regs
4 I wish I was organised enough to have the regs ready by now, but I am not
5 The guys from GG Uk are always very welcome at our event and are usually amongst the first entries
I hope this clears things up, I WAS ONLY HAVIN A LAFF
Ta!
Mick

Dear all
Please note that despite malicious rumurs being circulated by Factory Kev etc at GG UK I am not so efficient and have not yet ( and will not for a couple of months yet) produced any regs for 2007 Lakes 2 Day.
Please don't waste time e.mailing for regs as they don't exist
Thanks
Mick Wren
