  1. I know it's been said before but i got Ryan Young's Trials Training Techniques DVD and it has the basic up.Yeah I'm having problems learning to balance too and that seems like it is the technique that you really need to get right before progressing to the next stage?
  2. One is a two stroke and one is a four stroke i would think they ride completely different.Do you like adjusting valves? When a four stroke engine lets go you are up for big dollars.
  3. He looks tired, is gradually losing fitness and had a few health complaints recently. He seems to be enjoying a fresh challange but, given the right tools (and if it was what he desired) to get him back to his healthiest he'd still be up their. Getting past 30 takes its toll on most sports people due to degeneration, except obviously, marathons and ultra marathons were it takes time to adapt/degenerate the body in order compete at the top level. For most sports its a battle against fatigue and postural misalignment making it a greater challange. (dougie included) Riding trials causes a great deal of upper crossed syndrome and moves the body further from its optimal alignment... So why is Troy Corser still riding WSB at 36? George Foreman won a world heavyweight title at the age of 45. Michael Schumaker was racing at 38 - there are more people i can think of but most importantly Jarvis is younger. Upper Crossed Syndrome: This syndrome produces elevation and protraction of the shoulders, winging of the scapula, and protraction of the head - so does this mean your head will fall when you ride over a very large rock? .....this toilet talk is getting to CT league. Troy Corser was riding moto GP but was to old and bumped back to WSB with all the rest of them.
  4. Thats right everyone has different sized hands otherwise they would not make gloves in different sizes. It was common knowledge that smaller grips especially if you had big hands led to arm pump on MX bikes. At $20.00 if it does not work out you have only lossed a small amount.
  5. It will be interesting to watch China as in the not so distant past they ate a diet of mainly organic foods. There was very little if any sugar in there diet and no fast food restaurants(Mcdonalds, pizza hut and KFC there is now)It was hard to find a place that sold coffee not to difficult now.Diabetes was virtually unheard of i see it creeping in now. With the onset of the car i see people getting fat and wonder when heart disease will start increasing.
  6. Maybe try thicker grips. The Renthal grips I've got on now are to small/narrow and give me hand and wrist problems.I don't seem to have the problem with Oury MTB grips.
  7. You might want to think about replacing your new helmet after you tested it by hitting it on a rock.
  8. I've given up drinking coffee well almost have one once a month.Feel better for it.I've replaced it with Chinese jasmine tea one or two a day.I'm trying to give up beer for a couple of months to see how that goes but finding that harder to stop especially on a hot day.

    Maybe a Scorpa T-ride
  10. Slack did you fix your brake problem?
  11. What about if you don't hop and skip and just ride the bike? What about when riding up a hill with say 1 ft rock ledges all the way up it, would it not be better to have your suspension sorted rather than having to much or not enough rebound and the bike kicking about all over the place where as a well sorted out suspension set up would track straight up?
  12. I'm new to trials so don't go off what i say but would it be slow compression and fast rebound?I come from a MX / enduro background and they and myself included where pretty particular about finding the sweet spot.Trials riders don't seem to worry about suspension settings to much which i find strange as a well set up bike is vastly different to a badly set up bike at least in MX, Enduro and MTB's
  13. Finally got myself a trials bike after 4 months of looking and studying which one to get,Thanks to this site for the answers to all my questions.I am now the proud owner of a SY250 05.Now i just have to learn how to ride it.
  14. I'd recommend Pinnacle studio 10.Its not free but i got one from Ebay USA for about $25.00 i think and it is far better and easier to use than windows movie maker and you can burn to DVD which you can't with windows. You do need alot of hard drive space and a far amount of ram to run it though. How do you post your videos here?
  15. I'd recommend Endura electrolyte Visit My Website for your cramps
  16. Would Britta filtered tap water be equivalent to bottled water?

    First Ride

Chandler good to read about your first ride after 5 years.I'm the same have not ridden a Dirt bike for six years just ridden my MTB bike. While I'm still looking for a Trials bike I have ridden a couple of test rides and the biggest difference i noticed coming from a MTB bike to a Trials bike was the noise and smell.Still great fun though.
  18. I tend to agree on this one. I would rather replace/repair the petrol tank rather than fix or replace frame.
  19. Just wondering.Thinking of getting a Scorpa and someone told me watch out if you fall over and damage the tank your up for a new one which are expensive.Beta and Sherco tanks are better protected.(A Sherco rider told me this)I think it is bs?
  20. Wondering how much do they cost and do they add much weight to the bike?
  21. I read and see the stator going on Betas is it just a unlucky few??Once there fixed is that the end of the problem or is it ongoing problem?I'm thinking of getting a Beta, Scorpa or a Sherco.

    Sherco Pxc 2005

So i take it they are not to user friendly mainly aimed at the expert rider and would be to much of a handful for a beginner starting out in trials?
