Of course you would dissagree!! you couldn't start it I had other people who would agree with you as they stood red faced cursing the 3.2, but I could start thier bike also.
I have had four through my hand's as people tend to sell them cheap when they can't start them, I thought I must of been lucky and got one that started better than most, well seems I have had four that started better.
Over thirty trials on mine now, and the hardest it was ever to start was after a get off, it flooded the airbox with fuel.
I drilled a hole on the lowest part of the airbox, and inserted a valve stem with a clear tube on it, then a bit more valve stem on the other end of the tube so I could put a valve cap on the open end.
If she get's upside down or floods the airbox, I can see, and easily drain.

Spud, I have ridden the Sherco 3.2 since 05, and still riding it, I also rode a new repsol Mont in this years SSDT.
Sherco has been a pig to start for most who bought it, this problem has basically shut the bike down until they get the thing to start easy, not just so it can be started by the odd person, but totally idiot proof, I seem to be able to start them, even when they are hot and stall, but it is obvious many can't
Feel, grip, power weight, price, go to Sherco, it does have more of a fourstroke feel to it.
Quality, reliability, confidence to ride an event like the ssdt without wondering if it will make it goes to Mont.
I have had no mechanical problems with the Sherco, engine and all the running gear nothing has failed, but it does require little tweaks here and there before every ride, the Mont for the most part, throw her away hot and steaming, and you feel confident she will be ready to go next time you want her.
In the sections, I found the Mont got me up some big steps in the SSDT I have never got up before, but looking at my results I found I was loosing more marks in the nadgery stuff, to be fair I only had two weeks practice on the Mont before the event, I think the bike handles like the 315 on the front end, and I just can't get to grips with it like I can the Sherco, this is my personal preference on what I feel most comfortable on, and bet ten Mont riders would say the same thing about the sherco.
I like fourstrokes, and can't wait to have a ride on both the 250f Scorpa, and the new Beta, for me the bike I have the most fun riding and the least problems will be the fourstroke I end up with, the type of trial and sections we ride in this part of the world, and the fact I personally like the feel of the Sherco 3.2 better for me, that is what I'm sticking with at the moment, there are times when out pratting in the rev shed with the sherco that I feel like saying sod this and go buy a Mont, but then again I ride a trial, do well and all is forgiven and it's back in with the bike.
Plus there is two more offerings yet to try, and the fourstroke is just getting back into the game, I wouldn't knock any of the bikes two of four, Mont or Sherco, I will ride what I like best when all the offerings are in.

It wer probably more, but I didn't want you to look a total tit
-
If that's a bit lost, I would hate to see the poor bugger who got totaly lost.
Now there could be some good lost stories before the age of the t'internet, old blokes like Gizza should spill the beans, and let us know, Kin'll can't be the only daft bugger who's added 50 + mile to his daily route.
Without the tales, it wouldn't be the Scottish.
-
I think you are doing it right, those scores and conditions in todays world, would kill the trial off.
The world championship proves that
I know what you mean about making friends when riding by yourself, however! I do think it encourages new riders to enter if they think they can ride round with thier mates, bit of a shock to the system being a first timer up there on your todd.
Wi must be getting soft

In most motor sports, the competitor can navigate the course without failing, and the result at the end of the day comes down to who can navigate it the fastest.
In order to take points off the top few in world trials, the course is made so difficult that most can't navigate the course, and unlike other motor sports, they don't just finish the course slower than the winner, they fail most of the sections in front of many spectators.
How long would you ride in front of large groups of spectators, if all you did was look inadequate in front of them.
Doug, Jordi, Raga, Fuji, may be brilliant riders, but they have in fact raised the bar beyond most, and on the course in competition top three or four have an unfair advantage over the lower ranked riders, not just ability, but! machinery, team support, and bias.
I don't think it's the FIM who are totally to blame, in the case of trials, I think there is a fair amount of the tail wagging the Dog.
-
I think adding classes and other twist into the mix to improve competitor attendance at world rounds, will in time lower the numbers in the championship class even more.
Youth, junior, by the time young riders are done with these classes, being not too many get much sponsorship at that level, I would imagine they will know how well they stand,
what incentive if there to be champ, if you can't be in the top few or afford to travel.
I think soon we will see the top five youth, become the top five Junior, and then the top five world champ's and that will be it.
Cost and section severity, in my opinion, are killing the game, why not address those problems rather than adding classes or age limit's.
-
Didn't take you soft ******s long to get to this stage did it!! grow up it's a game.
-
Risk of injury to the ego more like soft buggers could get beat by a regular lad, now that wouldn't look good.
The easiest section from any worldround, would, be a lot harder than the most difficult SSDT section, so it cant be section difficulty, might get stuck in some mud!! or fall off riding a forest track or moor.

Your symptom can easily be duplicated by taking off the shifter, then installing it in too high a location on the splines, not giving it enough movement to click up the gears.
Measure from your skid plate to the bottom of the shifter at the very front location where the swivel tip mounts, I just checked three different bikes at this location and all three were 2.3/4 inch at this point. if wrong loosen your back wheel so you can roll your chain off, then remove the shifter and locate it on the splines so it measures 2.3/4 inch.
If this is not the problem, I would suggest you call the fella you bought it off and ask him to have it corrected.

Word is the early entry numbers are down from the past few years, good time for first time riders to get an entry in, "Mr. Dabster" can't call yourself a trials rider until you have ridden the world's # 1 trial.
The whole weeks experience lasts for the rest of your life, get em in, you know you want to, would like, should, could, don't cut it!! just do it.
-
The pictures of the bike certainly have got everyone buzzing to learn more, and I must say looking at the motor and bike overall, it does look a fair tool.
The rest is hearsay until she's out on the hill, if it rides as good as it looks, then she will sell, no doubt about it.
The Beta found good traction with the two stroke, this bugger should grip like big John to his wallet.
-
"Clean the filter out with fairy and then put it in wash with your bike clothes or work clothes then apply the foam oil "
I'm waitng for the "oy she twated mi lug for pouring filter oil in't washer"

Reading posts about the new Beta due to be unveiled soon, makes all brands but GG with a four stroke in the works.
Any news when it will become mandatory for the world championship ?
I don't think Beta are getting the jump on Sherco DP, the 3.2 is one hell of a machine to ride, had it's initial problems, I was able to get mine performing, and the factory will no doubt be on top of the job, Fuel injection isn't beyond any of the factories, it may be the cost it adds to the price of the bike that may be the big factor, you get a good bike with the Mont, but you do pay extra for it.
I think I read in the last Sherco mail news that they were contesting the WR with four stroke in 07.

I notice after a bottle or two women start to look better too
-
Send them to Lane to stuff, he can maybe earn the tenner by stuffing them, whish he would stuff em, in fact he should stuff em, I can't think of a better place to stuff em.
And he could stick the stickers while he's at it.
-
Have they no shame well on a side note, if you live in the Silsden area, stop by David Isherwood's for all your top quality meats, finest stake in all of Porkshire an avid trials rider who **** canned his BMW the other year on route to the SSDT, so your $$$$$$$$$$$$ are quite welcome.
-
Dan, chill dude, it took Ringo weeks to snip all those photo's out of the girly mags, he's about as aggressive as a hamster on prozac, I did see him fall over before, but on his way down he tried in vain to avoid falling on all the onlookers sat p***ing themselves at him falling over.
-
Ouch!! ten bonus points to K
-
Then again, you could of been a bigger muppet and given Ringo his own forum
-
The big question has to be!! will Wonder Boy, makes his virgin debut this year ?
-
Not really!! it's hidden by thi big fat belly
-
I have two lad's of my own, why should I be subsidizing some other fellows lad, when they may find after a year or two they would rather sup ale and chase bird's, or stick it up there nose, some young talented rider's have been known to do it, why should I help them?
How do you pick who should be supported ? Mart and Malc, used to deliver coal round Silsden to earn a bob or two to help pay to ride, yes!! times have changed, so how do you make it that every kid get's the same deal.
Dabster, Atom, and other TC posters are keen to get funding for this rider or that, but for the most part they are following up on a young rider they have some connection too.
This year riding over a moor, one of those well talented youth though it wer **** hot to purposely roost this old bloke with mud, why on earth would I want to donate some of my hard earned to the little Pratt.
Will the youth all have the same chance at earning the same reward/funding, EX amount of youth funding to be given by youth championship points earned, each point has a funding value, that way it gives the most to those who earn the most, isn't that how you get on in real life.
Disaster funds, charities, most of the monies given never see the purpose they were intended for, they get kind of side tracked along the way, who is going to be responsible for looking after and keeping track of what goes were?.
Those who are after something will always shout louder than those who don't want to give it.
There you go Atom, you asked! a few reasons from a tight Yorki on why should I pay.
-
I don't think it will of been an intentional mistake, and not a big deal to correct.
-
So what you saying boy!! a certain well sponsored individual is moving from 2 stroke's to four
And on the Doc topic, don't think Lane will take him up on the shootout, due to the fact he keep's shooting himself in the foot.
