I am about to rebuild my beta rev 3 250 as its now suffering from piston slap. Is there a book which would teach me how to do this? I am very mechanically minded but a book would be useful rather than just diving head first. If there is not one directly for a beta rev 3 then a generic one would suffice. Any recommendations?

I too am in the market for one of these. Autowbars seems the favorite. How do you stop it from hitting the back when you hit the brakes? Any pictures of an Autowbars model without the bike on so I can see what it looks like when its off? What does the towbar look like when its dismantled and removed? Thanks all

My Rev 3 needs a new CDI. I have tested the stator and it seems fine on another bike but should i replace the stator too if the CDI is gone? P.s Does anyone know what CDi stands for?

Turns out it was a wiring problem. Previous owner who bought bike to play in a field had cocked up the wiring. Wish i had spotted it sooner!

Thanks slapshot. Yes it definately did run lumpy before it just stalled and died.

Ok so ive had the spark plug out of the head and cranked it over but no visable spark! any ideas? Coil?

Help! Ive got a REV 3 250 2000 model and something is certainly not right! I was out last weekend and the bike started ok and ran for say an hour then the bike stalled and could I hell as like start it! So back to the shed and stripped the carb cleaned the jets etc re assemble etc. I have cleaned the air filter and changed the plug to the right gap. The bike trys to turn over but only fires for say five to ten seconds then dies. It may be ive cocked up the carb adjustments as I am pretty new to all this. I have the mixture screw set at two and a half turns. I am trying to set up the carb but cant get the bike started long enough to balance it. After 15 mins of sweat I have put the bike away. Not sure where to go from here! Electrics? or Carburation?

What does everyone use in their rev 3? I currently have PJ1 in. I have heard Dextron is better. I take it they mean Castrol?

I have had a 2000 Beta Rev 3 for 4 weeks now and I have changed the gear oil with PJ1 gear oil. The gears work fine but I really have trouble engaging neutral. I appreciate it should be between 1st and second but I can only find it 1 in 10 goes! There was a few visible but v small metal fragments that came out with the oil (probably hadnt been changed for a while judging from the guy I bought it from). Is it likely to be the oil? As I say all but neutral is fine!
