  1. Hi mate cheers for your help couple of questions 1stly where can I get one ? what sort of throttle cable would I need ? the throttle is chrome and spilts into two halves not sure if thats standard or not ? also would I need any differant size rubbers on the inlet and outlet ? so all you need to do is order a standard carby but with the differant jet ? is the pilot and needle etc still okay ? thanks
  2. Has anyone got an Amal Mk2 for a 158 75/76 sherpa T 250 lying around ? ( long shot ) or know of anyone thats converted to a Bing or Mikuni and know what jet sizes needle pos etc and what type of carb was used ? or cheers
  3. Still having trouble starting my 76 sherpa T tried an extra fuel filter pulled the carby apart again and cleaned it all out seems to run okay but I think it floods way too easy the float and inlet valve thing is all clean and in good condition but its still really hard to start oh and the spark is really good tried new plugs also is there a differant carby you can get to work other than the Amal carb ? if so whats the brand size and spec's ?? also after taking the plug out and clearing it ive also tried the tipping it over to the side trick and it still is a bugger to start any help would be great cheers
  4. I just got the haynes service manual for my 75/76 250 sherpa t Just reading through and it says there is a Gearbox Oil compartment with the filler in the center of the engine at the top and a Primary Chain case filler at the top on the side casing .. goes onto say that you stick 300ml's of SAE 10 in the center gearbox compartment and 500 ml's of SAE 90 Gearbox oil in the Primary chain case filler first off i didnt realise there were two compartments .. secondly the drain for the primary chain case I thought was at the bottom of that same side casing with a long bolt washer head bolt , I drained 450ml's of oil out of there when I got it then stuck the same but new oil back in it .. where is the drain for the gearbox compartment ? ? also what Oil should I use .. for the primary I just stuck Gear Saver 85 in there what should I be using for both ?? cheers
  5. ta mate just waiting for the original seat to come in thats all
  6. Ah I c ... thanks for the info Im running the origional amal carb , pulled that apart last night and I think the pilot jet had some crap in it .. put it all back together and it kicked on the 5th kick then started 10 times on the 1st or the second .. its a 158 I think 75-76 250 sherpa T the first one with out the seat tank one peice unit .. will change that plug today though It came with the one thats in at the moment I wasnt sure what to change it to .. so with the choke .. do you need to push that leaver down for cold start ? or shouldnt you use the choke ? it seemed to start better with the choke lever up >? will post some pics of it tonight up on here thanks James

  9. what were you expecting birthday candles maybe a cherry on top ?? geez you guys are hard to please
  10. Hi , Im using BKR6EIX in my 07 sy250 and they are great . same plug for 7 trials so far and it still is in good condition there like 13 dollars AU instead of 3.50 for a cheap one but they are worth it at least they are on my bike
  11. Has anyone seen any swing arm clip on gaurds made for an sy250 thats in the dark grey carbon fibre ive only seen the really light grey ones from Mitani .. cheers
  12. ah Thanks for that.. does he organise the international freight or just local pick up and drop off.. > ? if not who would you contact for that ? also could he organise to crate it because were in Australia and the bike isnt crated and is in the UK .. cheers for any help
  13. Hi chap's just wondering if anyone has any advice for shipping a Tl125 from christchurch dorset to Perth Australia ie companys that will crate and send it out .. ? cheers
  14. Geez well since your riding a gas gas or considering a beta your taste in bikes is abit wide of the mark. scorpas in my opinion are the best built bike on the market .. they may not have the grunt of a 300 or a sherco 290 but they dont need to because there not designed for the top end of the market. Ive owned a Beta 270 02 and my old man has a repsol 4rt and when it comes down to it my 07 sy250 is the best bike ive ever ridden the only problem with scorpa is that they only make a 250 which has to cater or a large portion of the market unlike other brands running 3 or 4 model's which most of the time isnt a prob unless your a junior or an expert, the gear ratio's foot pegs and motor are just fine if yoour having trouble then its either your bike was an old model and not looked after or your not riding it properly infact my foot pegs on both of my scorpa's never went out of shape once no matter how hard they bashed on rocks or logs cheers oh an PS the carby just needs abit of fiddling once you get a routine there not hard to get out .. its just figuring out the sequence just get rid of the tank plastics and airbox and ull be fine cheers
  15. I have a sy 250 07 is it normal to get some back oily crap drippling out from underneith exhaust flandge on the front pipe where it bolts onto the motor ? its not much but usually if I run it for a while you can see drips comming out .. Running motul factory 2 stroke oil at 70 - 1 with the fuel mixture screw out 1 3/4 turns .. just unleaded fuel also any ideas ? , the two flandge bolts are tight too.. only had the bike from new since september/october this year
  16. would this happen on a 2007 sy 250 or is it only happening on older scorpa's ?>
  17. I got the front pipe and muffler cover from scorpa but for the frame just used that stick on rubber sticker stuff that comes in black or carbon .. its thick stuff and easy to cut into shapes has worked great so far also cut out a peice for the black air box the sheets are about $30.00AU from any bike shop I guess
  18. nah 2 stroke is still a better bike you will see after you have had that bike for a year they still havnt trimmed the fat off that bike yet .. they need to make it a smaller bike there is too much on it its a hard bike to keep in good condition and it takes forever to clean them because mud and crap gets caughed in all the nooks and crannys and between the engine and bash plate .. gas gas and the re done sherco 4 strokes have the right idea small frame and easy to look after .
  19. I owned a 07 sy250 f rode it in about 26 Trials and now have traded in on an 07 sy250 and I have to say the sy250 is the nicest bike ive ever ridden .. I had a rev4 at my place for a week my old man has a repsol and ive ridden various 2 strokes altho the gas gas is nice the sy250 is built better and rides nicer and the geo is sweet I just think 4 strokes require alot more force to get them through a section if I double blip a large log with the 2stroke it requires about half the effort and you tend to think what was all the fuss about getting the 250f over it ill miss the engine breaking through steep sections but it takes it out of you on long trials when your on and off the throttle your wrists start to ache when the engine breaking kicks in thats all my opinion by the way hopefully the 08s improve some of those things http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=1313...9350&ref=mf http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=1290...mp;id=552799350
  20. Ive ridden a 175 .. and as far as power goes the 175 is no where near the 250f .. even the 200 wouldnt be close .. if you are going to put a kit into it to make it a true 200cc bike you may as well buy the 250f and get a better frame and engine in the first place .. a 4rt is the only four stroke with comparable power to the 250f that ive ridden .. the 175 is comparable to a trl250 with an engine in good knick as far as i can work out
  21. nah not really its no differant to riding a 4RT ..
