  1. Rides differant .. gear ratio is fairly low and managable has a heap of low end torque, power delivery is differant .. and the gears revv out really well for large obsticles .. is great for inbetween sections too trail rides awsome .. suspension is top notch and is really well built I changed alot of bolts out for stainless .. but all the billet makes the differance .. they are pritty easy to work on , alot of engine parts you can get from a local yamaha dealer etc .. engine braking makes all the differance for steep hills and logs where you dont want run-on after giving it some power to get over it . but anyway thats my opinion .. heres another two pics from a while ago these dont have the new bits on it also some blue grips which I threw in the bin ..
  2. Yeh they dont sell that as as a kit , bloody italians .. its hard enough to get those bits out of them .. they also do an 800 dollar rear shock and a 2 map ignition switch thing .. shame
  3. from scorpa.it... I have the one peice seat / tank unit and the quater bits near the filler cap too havnt put them on yet waiting for a sticker kit
  4. New carbon bits , still waiting on some other carbon fibre stuff but this is the progress so far
  5. well there are around 12 - 14 in australia .. ive got the only one in western australia i have no idea about england and the US but id sure like to know .. i think its a real shame that they dont get a larger mention on here or anywhere .. its always beta this or montesa that
  6. well ive had mine for 4 months or so ridden 3 trials and numerous practice day's and i can say that its a great bike to ride starts second kick from cold with full choke then first kick from then on when its warm.. most reviews are all taken from the post production model which had a few problems with throttle hesitation but that was all fixed, two other things that are good about the bike is the cartridge cotton air filter which never really gets dirty just needs blowing out occasionally and the spark plug sits in the center of the motor at the bottom of a tube and the ignition coil pushes down onto it with a two wire plug at the top pritty good set up i thought . cheers
  7. Get and sy250f fantastic bike, well built easy to maintain and great to ride plus most engine parts come from your local yamaha dealer only had a problem with the carby overflowing due to some crap in the fuel inlet valve heres mine .. http://i134.photobucket.com/albums/q82/AJS...ub/P1010027.jpg http://i134.photobucket.com/albums/q82/AJS...ub/P1010024.jpg http://i134.photobucket.com/albums/q82/AJS...ub/P1010026.jpg
  8. yeh i understand its a shame so many people buy beta's they have the market sales i dont see why they cant do some r&d and upgrade some parts even change the frame if they cant afford to change the motor after 6 years to make the bike more user friendly, maybe they just dont want to allocate profit back into the bike since sales are still strong.. shame
  9. hey guys Since when have beta been known for quallity ? ive had 2 rev 3's 02 and 03and ive ridden the new beta's the past month or so and there still lacking in some well machined parts way too much cast aluminium i cant count the times that foot peg mounts rear brake leavers and gear change leavers have just sheered off and by now i would have thought that the tank would be made removable and that muffler made smaller and tucked away in the frame. I think just because so many people have them dosnt mean that there a quallity bike ie every second person has a ford but they are far from well made. my SY250f has more billet parts than you can poke a stick at all bolts have fibre washers and are allen head cap screws everything came greased and not over tightened didnt have to change out my footpegs unlike the scabby beta ones, takes 5 bolts to remove all tank and rear gaurd plastics the fuel tank airbox muffler carby and is easy to work on .. sorry boys
  10. Dont forget lad's its a beta its full of italian engineering and cast aluminium hopefully beta get their finger out with some engine reliabillity I traded my rev3 02 270 in for a sy250f and shes sweet as a nut sounds mean and is full of lovely billet parts up the frenchies
  11. My 250f runs great and sounds mean upgrade to a mans bike
  12. My sy250F runs sweet , im a club / c grade rider and for me comming from 270 beta's and sherco's etc its very rider friendly lots of power , great suspension easy to start sounds like a 4 stroke should sound. Ive ridden a Repsol 4RT a fair bit for the last year and the comparison is quite differant when it was on stock settings the 4RT 1st gear is much higher than the sy250 and tries to get away from you abit when balancing on the clutch. I also think when it comes to build quallity the 4rt has alot of aluminium where the sy250 uses plastics and tubular alloys and a tonn of billet parts including the centers of the wheels where its machined billet with anodiesed gold edges.. and the foot pegs are a work of art and much larger than the 4RT pegs.
