forget what it says on gearbox and owners manual when you drain the oil you will never get it all out, best to fill till it comes out of the oil level check bolt located by the kick start shaft.

New To Trials, And Scorpa, Maintainance Advice Please?
useless replied to fedralseth666's topic in Scorpa
spoke nipples will need plenty of heat to move them, probable best to rebuild as you will probable destroy them trying to tighten them up. spokes about a quid each + the cost of a nipple. sump bolt is made of toffee get it removed and replace with somethink else, cant be sure but i think bmw do a suitable replacment. rear brake should work fine. try bleeding it or maybee a new set of pads asuming it isnt seized. on the oil front even with the sump plug out you will struggle to get all the oil out so do what you can and refill so oil comes out of the oil level bolt.good luck. -
210lb Beginner Thinking Of Giving Up 300cc For A 200cc?
useless replied to floored's topic in General Trials Talk
the 200 will do you fine but if you must have a bigger bike how about a scorpa sy250. sorfter power delivery than most of the other stuff but plenty torquey enough -
if using normal engine oil for cars ect im of the understanding that fully synthetic stuff is so slippery that it may cause clutch slip to a perfectly good clutch, use mineral or semi sinthetic.
-
you say you added oil to the tank, am i right in thinking you added two stroke oil and not engine oil!!!!!
-
they might be fantastick and nobody is selling them!!!!!!!!!
-
if you thought mont was pricey you need to look at rotax parts for a real eye opener, if you can stretch for a sy with a yamaha motor you shouldnt regret it. early sy start in 2000 at about a grand.
-
you can get spokes from birkets, they sell spokes and niples seperatly. about about a quid a spoke + nipple of course.
-
irate land owners are only part of the problem, nobody wants there bike confiscated and crushed.

yup out 2000 but value as always on condition, got one myself and still run superbly no hickups flat spots or reliability problems.

hey rapid roy if tack a look it says 10000 miles on me road bike, road being the operative word here. for trials id recomend more frequent changes but still use the same oil.
-
i have always used 10/40 motor oil in all me road going yamaha 2 strokes gearbox's same in me scorpa, if you change regular you shouldnt have any problems. 10000 miles between changes on road bike so a few trials aint gona tax the oil to its limit now is it.

how about crankshaft oil seal, oil getting past the seal from your gearbox, sounds about right for the simptons

you can test fan by simply shorting out the two wires at the bottom of the radiator with the motor runing. it will get hot under tick over but it will take a long time for the fan to kick in. also i doute you will have done the head gasket unless you really cooked the motor, remember its a yamaha motor and not as fickel as some other brands you see on here.if water was leaking from there i cant see how it could get into the combustion chamber as as pressure from the cylinder would usally push things out not suck them in. head gasket is about
