    Tyr Update So Far

    She runs great http://i633.photobucket.com/albums/uu54/pa...22070626002.jpg
  3. Thanks Alan, Do you have any idea if this pic was taken in the 60
  4. Hi, Wounder if any of you may have a clue how this rider is? http://i633.photobucket.com/albums/uu54/pa...0_BantamBSA.jpg The photo came from a French classic website, but unfortunatley I dont remember the address, apologize. Pat
  5. Use Jons solution. I went to a former Ohlins service shop.. A smaller copy of these for cars http://www.biltema.se/products/productimag...p?iItemId=82497 must be available worldwide.
  6. Thanks Charlie, Ordered other parts and got quick and great service from Draganfly but they could not offer this gasket though. BR, Pat
  7. Hi all, Im searching for a cover gasket for this Burman cover, http://i633.photobucket.com/albums/uu54/pa...SA071024003.jpg Have tried the easy paths but no luck..well loctite working allright for now but..., did found the centre gasket though (NOS..crispy..) Its allways possible to make a special order or mould/cut manually, but will ask if any of you could guide me to a supplier. Im also searching for a two seals for this cover, kick start- and gear lever. * OD 22mm, ID 20.6mm x ~5-10mm * OD 21.7mm, ID 18.6mm x ~5-10mm BR, Pat
  8. Looks like a really nice work has been done. Hope the engine been updated as well with a OKO or a 29S and a proper reed cage. Guess Montesa sving arm offers a weight red, but on the other hand TYR r/f susp works well as std and Montesa hub+disc+calip seems heavier. The increased ride height looks great, I have ext the shock 10mm and increased pre-load 35mm by lathe (not a new spring yet though..), ideas from Bruce
  9. Sorry my bad. Just had to open my eyes properly, ...Rob Homer. Well done Rob, if you read this. Lots of hubs and yokes from Whitton there at Telford Pat
  10. hewson, Lots of fantastic bikes and nice pics! The lovely red/white Bantam is a bike from Bliss, is it? Pat
  11. Hi Woody, I will use tubeless rim/tyre with tube; the tyre will stay in place without security bolt/tyre lock, thats what you say? Have seen some nice Ariels P65 with tubeless rims, but with security locks. Getting rid of the security bolt is very good if possible. Regards, Pat For 18" tube type you have 3 tyre choices - Michelin, IRC or Pirelli The Michelin isn't the X11 as that's the one they discontinued, it is a sort of remake of the old X1 but in our experience in the muddy Midlands it isn't very good. However, given the absence of mud in the Scottish it should be ok. The IRC tube tyre has very soft sidewalls, some seem better than others, but they can roll badly on the sidewalls the heavier you are. On a rigid they may roll but obviously I can't say categorically. Pirelli will work ok but not have as much grip on the rocks as the other two. Have you asked Clive Dopson what he uses on his Norton, may be worth doing so. Don't fit a tube tyre to a tubeless rim as it will more than likely give you problems. If you fit a tubeless rim you can use a tubeless tyre in Scotland, just fit a tube. No need to ruin the rim by drilling for security bolts as the tyre will seat just the same as it would without the tube.

    Alloy Fuel Tank

Thanks a lot Jon, Michael and big! Cheers, Pat
  14. Hi, Fuel cap Have seen several pics of beautiful slim ally fuel tanks on P65 bikes, they all seems to have "KTM-like" fuel caps; does anyone of you know if "ready to weld on" ally tubes with threads are available? Or if machining threads by lathe is the only way? Cut loose a plastic cap tube from an MX fuel tank, and fastend/seal it from the inside before the ally parts are welded together, might be possible? Airbox Are any of you using 4-s airbox from Sammy Miller, eg for Cub or B15? If yes, whats your opinion about performance verses KN-like filters, that offering a hard time jetting because of non defined air volume... Regards, Pat

    Majesty

SWEET!!! Very nice improvements, eg your pegs positions, have done the same with GG on my TYR -major difference. Im not well informed about regulations and definitions of classes in the UK, but are TYR sliders and hubs legal in Pre-85 classes, t/s classes? I think the parts should be legal, the requirements are fullfilled, prod before 841231, goes for TYR engines for that matter
  17. Thanks a lot Stork! The mix is still available, ok by me, but aiming for seal the GB Cheers
  18. Hi, Will try to seal my Burman 4speed ~95%(for AJS/Matchless 1949). Outside cover, replace bushes, for kickstart- and gearlever axles, with shorter ones to make room for modern seals. Have any one of you done a similar mod on gearboxes that requires grease/oil mix? Final sprocket axle is allready sealed, hope its possible to replace it with a modern one. Faces, well I dont know if fibre gaskets are available, either special order or instead use some brand bond or blue, orange loctite, no leaks..;-) Cant see why not single- or multi grade could work after this improvement.
  19. Rory, Take some mesaurements and search at evil, and a TIG-welder is good to know . I found a cheap GG-00 swinging arm but didnt bid, might have worked. Im very surpriced about the TYR weight, an ally mod like available for TLR would be nice. About disc conversion, have messaured some modern hubs and there is space enough at TYR ~160mm. No probs. Make a calip bracket for AP-08 or some MX-65cc, fit pump is easy to do, std lever could probably be adjusted for pump piston joint. Have a nice rear wheel and thought about doing the conversion last summer, but rebuilded std shield instead, now Im in control (went from GG-06 front/beatennonrearbrake over lots of year) handling improvement is an understatement Power is more than enough with TYR-drum, but the handling and reaction time are improvements with disc.
  20. Hi Jaan, Guess its tricky to find sleeve rubbers with two ID, not impossible though, search sleeves for others vehicles.. If you not have bought the carb yet, I could recommend PWK29S or OKO, its even worth the effort to prod a new manifold, 35/35 ID sleeves are easy to find. Modern carbs offers major improvment verses twin shock std set up (or TYR std set up for that matter), ~a result from several years of prod development! E.g. GG have probably not randomly chosen carb brand for their trials line... I'm going to fit a Mikuni flatslide carb VM28-418 to my Montesa 348. Any ideas on a firm that supplies 42 - 33 mm sleeve rubbers? The front spigot outer diameter of Mikuni is 33 mm. The outer diameter of Montesa inlet tube is 42 mm. I've checked Allens and Hug's Bultaco. According to their websites they don't have this size.
  21. Thanks a lot! Regarding to the web site, they seems to be a first class supplier.
  22. Feet, Im an old fart Lost interest for trials, motorcycles in general for 25 years.. Wrote and ment sold, TYR and TYS from Yamaha 84-92 and riders time spent riding not crying. Yes I know lots of other bikes were sold during the 70
  23. Thanks, Jay, sweet. Gizza5, Class C, for drum brakes only?
