The 2.9 had a 5mm spacer, the 2.5 did not.

I hope you ordered the VITON seals!

That is like a 55W halogen light, and the lighting coils on the Sherco and other trials bikes are NOT designed to run them. Along with that, you are sharing power with the FAN.
I cannot recall exactly, but I think the factory light was speced at 12W or something, not a lot, but LED's do help.
-
I likely have one, but postage from the US may be a bit harsh. And no, they are fairly useless. I mite look for a small LED or even a bicycle type that has battery!
-
I was not personally the one that welded the one referenced above, however I would say any good Mig welder would work.

Your piston slap noise could possibly be related to the issue with the crankshaft. I know that is hard to fathom and I cannot explain why, but I have seen this on a NEW bike with no piston wear. One sudden engine stoppage was all it took. Had several of us stumped for a bit. I am talking folks with decades of experience.
If you are worried about a recurrence, tac weld the ends of the pin to crank.
As far as the piston goes, either slap a B into it and hope for the best or just send a new piston with the cylinder for a re-plate, because if the first method does not work out then you can just send the new one in and you have lost nothing.
Trust me, sometimes you cannot see or measure these noises, as it requires some Very specialized tooling and gear. Pays to start FRESH!

I would not expect one to jump. You gotas to roll the throttle on.
-
Strange as myself and others have commented in the past just how sensitive and finicky they can be, possibly requiring changes on the day and temps/baro.
The actual preferred range is 0.5-1.5 turns.
-
Sweet bike! Go have some fun!
You DO realize the fact that the closest ROCK to you is 100 miles away, right!
-
Yu do realize these 4T things DO spit back at you when whacking the throttle open too quickly, do you not?

The OKO is a Keihen copy and uses most the same parts. They are available in different bore sizes such as 24 and 26mm as well as 28.
The tube coming off the float bowl bottom is simply an overflow, and willn direct fuel out instead of filling the motor with fuel in the case of floats sticking or tipping the bike on its side, however as mounted on many bikes, the sloshing around of a dirt bike will see a lot of spillage in some cases. Many folks simply plug the line to prevent this.
The bowl gaskets seldom require replacement, so I WOULD FEEL FREE to disassemble and give the jets a good cleaning and see what sort of grunge you have in there.
Tube off the side is the bowl vent and you want it clean and unrestricted so it may vent properly and not let crap in, yout you CANNOT kink the hose, it can be short enough to diflect muck and that is all you want or need.
Properly sized jetting will give you a 1.5 turn out from full in on the airscrew as a good guide. Idle speed screw may vary.

as I recall they are pretty deep an you must be careful.

Many fluid types vary depending upon location and availability. I know what I use, yet that may not help you.
If you do not have a Sherco dealer or trials specialist shop near you, then I would suggest you contact Splatshop.co.uk for more info and less opinion from others.

Went to the sporting store today, picked up some new sex toys!

Good job and great riding!

The 0.5 recco was written long ago based upon the original Ducati ignition. The later Leonelli would do 0.7 just fine, and I suspect the current Hydria will be even better at it, thus the .7-.8 recco.
Take advantage of all you can get for better ignition.
-
are you in thre UK? Might try calling or email to Steve at Motoplat UK/ Bradford ignitions as he may shed some light. He has made a living figuring many of these type things out.
-
Based upon your description it seems you would need to split the one exhisting power source, possibly with a diode, and then regulate and rectify the one side only for light and fan which is required for DC fan motor operation.
Regulator and rectifier are common items to older Sherco and Beta for sure, Sanval 415 or summat for the reg., and all they do is shunt off excess to ground(earth).
-
It sounds to me as though you are simply using the lighting circuit to power the ignition now. tHAT WOULD INDICATE YOUR POWER COIL TO THE IGNITION MAY HAVE DIED.
Separate coils on most bikes. They can be repaired/rewound. Hopefully before you burn up the cdi, cause I have no idea what voltage it is designed for, and it is the windings that matter.

WD 40 here as well. I will pressure wash the chain clean, hose it with wd40 after blow dry, let it sit overnite and it is ready to go. I only reapply in a extremely muddy trial as a mud repellant. don't like it wet and slinging oil.
-
Supposed to be 80:1 that most use, not 80ml, check your math!
-
Sounds pretty much like a bad case of the slap to me. I have tried piston coating in the past, but I had no luck.
Depending upon where you are, som places keep some exchange cylinder/piston kits ready to go. The tolerances on these are extremely critical and they must be matched.

Yes, a crush type sealing washer is used, however it appears you may have more than one installed, possibly to compensate for a bent header pipe and get it to seal, as I have done it myself one time.
Normally they look like this with only one gasket and a good pipe, it is inset a bit more.
I run a special oil that does not carbon foul, but that is top secret stuff!
