  1. Enduro pants too! You can usually find some without all the crazy graphics pretty inexpensive. Enduro jackets work well when it is cold as well.
  2. That is a GasGas inlet restrictor! Just add another if it is still too quick!
  3. " with a quick hand full of throttle"? What are you doing? Sitting there wacking it off? Do you ride that way? Lean throttle chop ping(knock) may be caused because you just shut off the fuel to a revving motor! The pilot(low speed) jet is the one that helps here, providing you are using good fuel of proper octane. 36/38 or possibly even 40 is not out of the question. Finding the sweet spot while maintaining good running is the key, and you will likely have to come way off the 3.5 turn thing and down into the 2-3 turn range with the larger jet installed.
  4. Many auto parts stores sell slightly oversized self cutting drain plugs for this condition. I do not normally recco them, but is is an option if the length will work out. I routinely install helicoils in car oil pans, but it is critical to get them drilled and tapped straight, which can be difficult in unusual positions. All this is usually caused by overtorque over time, then add the expansion coefficient of the ali vs the bolt.
  5. Not if it is just a bit more oil, yet the thicker oil on the left fork may work better.
  6. try this http://www.splatshop.co.uk/jitsie-tech-stiffer-front-fork-spring.html
  7. You are stressing them old knees a lot on stage Charlie! You need a trials bike to work out!

    Sherco 125

Sherco, of course! Both nice bikes!
  9. There are trials "breakers" junk yards in the UK. Get someone here to point you. Yhe part is common to many years and should be available cheap. Might even call RYP to see if he knows.
  10. You may have better luck on a 200 or 250. Have fun whatever you ride.

    Trs Bike Unveiled

I allways thought the hardcore Gasser riders would flip over the -high tech - gasser copies. Seems they never did! Timing may be right on this now, if they cannae a gasser!
  12. It appears someone failed to machine out your hole in the new case!
  13. Sounds like a run of the mill used 125 to me. Nothing wrong with that, you got what you paid for. If you want it perfect, then splash out for a re-plate and fresh piston, because in my experience you will not get there otherwise as the tolerances are too tight on these things and a hone job will not do!. I went through the same on my 250, but it was worse. My old 125 sounded like yours, but worked fine.
  14. I thought I had to remove the clutch basket in order to remove the primary drive gear? Possibly not but I did anyway. The gears can get stuck, requiring a thin lipped puller to get under them. I tapped mine loose with a small slide dammer setup. Did not require much, but more than prying against the cases and risking damage. The large nuts on each end of the crank and the clutch hub are the most critical on the motor. Proper torque required and with proper holding fixtures pref. At the very least, scribe them so they may be put back iin situ or slightly beyond using a proper rattle gun.(the quick way)
  15. I would normally expect the compression reading to be up in the 150psi range or so I think. One needs to open the throttle when doing this in order to let air in to compress. Lots of 125's rattle a lot because they have been run hard and the higher revving takes its toll. Replate and fresh piston to fix that!
  16. Just see if you can get it running first. Seals can be done without a major teardown and if it was running it will still most likely! Does not mean they are in good health, though.
  17. Update the stickers, as they fit thorough "05
  18. Jesus man, The small line going from one side to the other is the bowl vent, which id why it was cut open. Just cut it in two and trim each side to about 30-40 mm in length and do not connect them. This may well be why the floats could not cut off the fuel as pressure built in the bowl so the engine flooded with fuel. Remove spark plug and disconnect ignition. Turn bike upside down and work the kickstart lever to get all the fuel out of the motor before more damage. Connect tank directly to carb to insure fuel cuts off as a test. Vent the magneto cover. Then see if it runs. You likely needed crank seals all along if they leaked. Do both sides in the Viton from Splatshop. Inspect for up-down play in the flywheel. You may need main bearings as well, the bike is soon 12 years on you know!
  19. Tenneco expects to record charges of approximately $27 million related to these actions in the third quarter which includes approximately $17 million of cash expenditures. Damn expensive forks them!
