  1. AS, Do you know if any have experimented with the cylender base spacers listed in the '07 catalogue? Are you referring to a 2.9? John B., a little change makes a big difference, hu? Oh, Big Ian, going to the 9 tooth front will slow the bike a lot, and is cheap to do! Very recommendable! Will not prevent the power from dragging you around though! What age is he?
  2. Someone had one of them spacer blocks that come with the homogolation kit, it limits the travel
  3. Back to the "shed" to play with toys. Thankfully the "outlaws" went home! I found the ally pegs on the '06 to be a bit slick in the wet as others have mentioned, so I use this little trick! The standard Dremel tools work perfectly. Somewhere near 8 and 16mm dia. The small one cleans and polishse for a nice appearance and the larger puts a nice bevel edge on top to sharpen the teeth a bit. The end result being much the same as used on the rear sprocket teeth. I try not to over doo it and just start at the rear and go a bit over halfway round with the larger stone. All personal preferance. Only takes a few munites and can be re-touched quickly. I do like them, strong, light, and inexpensive! Another,
  4. Barry, B4 you mix your Beer with your painkillers, remember you might do something you did not intend!
  5. Milt, you are correct, once I had another look(sober) you can get to the screw with a long flat blade inserted between the chain and lower guard. No really, because of all the junk in the garage, I usually do everything from the right side of the bike and never got a direct eye shot at the adjuster, It only turns about two times around and about 15 clicks. I'll have to get out and play with it, when the rain stops! OMG! When you back it all the way out it turns the thing into a pogo stick! Maybe I'll try it in the middle, if it ever stops raining!
  6. Not to change the subject, but did you see the video of Will Ibsen on the Scorpa? It is on the RYP site! Will is looking better all the time and it looks like he is riding PRO this year on the new bike! Talk about a upcoming TDN contender! Unload a little of that jack, Mich!
  7. With the new shock mounted inverted(shaft down) I found quickly that it will no longer remove from the top! And just exactly where is that damping adjuster located? The drill goes something like this(with bike on stand): Remove top bolt allowing shock to drop. This allows access to lower bolt with a ball end allen wrench. Prop up rear tire and remove the long bolt that attaches the rear of links to delta. Raise rear tire and swingarm so delta will swing back out of the way and shock will pass through bottom. Then go ahead and remove everything else so you can pack your bearings like a good boy! Reassemble in reverse order. it helps if you have someone to hold the rear wheel up while assembling things! Oh, the adjuster, it is located above the lower eye of the shock! Mine was oriented toward the left rear of the bike. It seemed to be factory set at one click out from all the way in(clockwise). I left it alone as it seems that removal of the shock is the only way to access it, and it works fine as is. I looked at positioning it so the screw was forward, but it did not seem to provide better access to the screw, so I left well enough alone. Coated with lube to help prevent rust or corrosion, good enough for now. I can only guess that the standard position of this screw is the quickest position, as opposed to all the way out on the fork adjuster. Not too sure about the exposure of the shaft and seal to the elements in this inverted setup. I seem to recall the Gassers set this way as well, maybe on the Ohlins? Oh well, I think I just had an Idea! Well see
  8. Looks "the mutts", as ya'll say!
  9. OR, ck on the cost of the top tree on the "07, It seems RYP also has a custom top clamp , Wise to compare options!
  10. The tic mark is there for sure on the '06. Just align it with the screw on top!
  11. Problem is that AC/DC transformers are proportional, so with twice the voltage input, you get twice the voltage output! Rectified or not! Unless there is a regulator! You better ck it or you'll burn up the batteries!
  12. I thought about photoshop'ing a set of reindeer antlers on the piccie of MichLin kissing Al B. titled "WHAT A RACK"! But I did'nt want to confuse anyone!
  13. No, but I will take one if you have some to sell. Just got Ryan's new one, and Pat's is next on the list! PM me!
  14. Brian, I could not get a 2.5 at the time, so I'm back to the full meal deal 2.9! One of my projects this year will be to try the effect of the cylinder base spacers listed in the new parts book. My initial impression is that the power is set a bit more agressive than the '06 bike. Hard to tell as it felt smoother yet stronger! With the changes in geometry, it feels more stable and a bit heavier in the front? But this is only first impression as stated, as I have not had a chance to get it out of the back yard!

    Adding Coolant

I have used a squeeze bottle with a rubber hose in the past. To be honest I have not checked it on the new one, suppose I should! Historically, if you fill them they will puke out the excess, just enough to cover the cores, plus a bit, and they are happy! Hope that helps!
  16. Clark, Inline fuel filters are basically redundant on the Dellorto, as they have a fine inlet screen built in. Not to mention the screen at the fuel valve. I am ov the opinion that the majority of dirt/water comes in through the bowl vents, specially with the tubes removed totally. Primarially when washing the bike! I will get another inline filter if I go back to the Keihin, may experiment a bit! I have one here! YOU, on the otherhand, need to get rid of that Kilt, and get out and practice!!!!! Of course, so do I!
  17. Smooth and responsive, very nice!
  18. RL, don't loose your screws! One of these days you may need them!
  19. I cannot take this any longer! Mich, put you bifocals on, it is N-O-R-M --- aka,NOEL! Merry Christmas! OMG what have I done, sorry! Of course it could be Phillip! Ha!

    '07 Bike Setup

First thing I noticed was that there no longer seems to be clearance(slack) between the bushings and the floating front disk(wave rotor) which makes the front feel much much smoother when applying the brake to hop the bike, feels really plush! Next it seems they have relocated the fuel valve(again), which placed the stock fuel line hard against the muffler and in tight quarters. A bit of Tygon is much more flexable and permits a good routing with no assist while keeping it off the muff. And yes, I run the short vent tubes on both sides which helps prevent water entry yet still avoids mostly, the venturi effect of fuel trapped in the lines. The mix screw is custom made so don't even ask!
  21. Sideup, keep it "up"! We love to torment Billy! Can't wait until the next local trial! I'm gonna smoke him on my little 125 Sherco! Leave the big bike in the trailer!
  22. The Sherco site says that we shall see one in WTC competition!
