John, tell us , are they any good? Worth the money?
-
All I can say is I have not heard of such. Maybe the timing is set back already as some (read most ) like it that way to settle the bike in the sections.
The normal 2.9 is very smooth yet very powerful!
And I happen to have a '06 GG 300 sitting here(buddys bike) that I rode a bit over the weekend that seems to me roughly the same as the 2.9 sitting next to it! Bit different in the torque curve! Both will put you on your backside quickly!
-
And all this time I thought the Brits were the adventurious types! You know, fireworks, moonshine and the like!
Guatamala is a beautiful country, and they have exotic animals-----that crawl into your tent!
-
The Tygon(3/16) is flexable enough to withstand stretching over a 1/4in inline filter without splitting.
Been intending to send R2 a bit to try, will do soon.
I can get it at a reasonable price.
-
If you spray it down between loops it will last much longer, but it will sling off and make a mess. Not a problem if it is muddy as everything is covered anyway!
-
Sure! We offer LONG hours, Low pay and Little chance for advancement!
Know anythind about those automatic transmissions that someone here designs? Hell, they don't! They just design them! The software people have try and make them work and they don't know anything about the hardware! The project engineer is on vacation and his secretary is out with a yeast infection!
So figure it out!
Oh! And let us know what you find!
-
Spend most of my time trying to come up with fixes for problems that our engineers created in the auto industry.
Many vehicles now with a multitude of onboard computers and networks.
Spend many hours cursing software engineers.
Also handle mechanical problems within a group of 25 techs that I have to try and keep tabs on!
And then there are management duties such as CR, HR, and then of course everyone wants the payroll done on time for some reason!
Bloody Hell! I want to go ride!
-
Actually, when Al and I were kids, we had to use things called "pencil and paper"! And he still wonders why it takes me so long to do it! I cannot remember how to use a slide rule!
-
We have a word for those that have "clean" trials!
-
Hard to equate them all, but I did ride a much new '06 beta 270 and it seemed very mild on my brief ride. The 2.9 is smooth but has MUCHO power. Cannot testify to the 280 gasser, but the 300 is a powerhouse!
I think all the 250's are much more managable probably, I know the 2.5 Sherco is.
You just need to get out and compare.
-
Obviously someone missed the WTC kids kicking all the US Experts asses in TN! I don't think safety is a factor in any but the most extreme cases. However skill is a definite factor! It just takes better skills to ride a 125 well!
And yes, I have one that I practice on and ride local events. It sometimes wears me out, sometimes I wear it out! Depends on the day! One thing for sure, my name is not Cabestany, and the chance of me wearing out the 2.9 is not very good!
-
Just do the math!
42/11= 3.81:1 ratio
38/10= 3.8 :1 ratio, or essentially the same. So you are correct that 1 tooth front is roughly equal to 4 on the rear.
-
Hopefully this 125 class will provide the avenue it was intended for and it will attract enough rider interist, as I do believe it would be in the best interist of the kids.
I spoke briefly with Bailey Tucker's dad in OK, wo stated that he was looking to move up to the expert line in the Nationals.
Question is, has the kid already been spoiled by riding a big bike? Is it too late at the grand old age of 14 to change?
Or would some prefer to just but heads with the likes of Ray and Travis as compared to riding with their peer age group and just comparing scores on the same lines.
We shall see.

BrrrrrrrAAAAAAAAAP! clink!
That's the sound of Kieth Wineland on the gasser in OK!
Riding better than I have ever seen him! Hitting them big steps in practice like nobodys business!
Enjoy it while you can Dude!
Next : Wwwwrrrrrrrrraaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaap! thud!
-
Can he ride it yet, or is Dad too busy fiddling and fondling?
-
A couple of shots!
and here

Phillip is the winner of an all expense paid trip to the county fair pig show in Waco Texas!
Thats right, that is a $500 piece of section tape attached to the marker Patrick clipped!
(which was somewhat shakely set btw)
The first pic is where I kicked myself in the ass about two seconds after that happened! It's about the size of a grapefruit!
Glad to hear you guys had a good time, Craig probably slept well on the way home!

I should start a new thread on this, but WTH
Guess the Body Part!
-
As in the similar thread, it all depends upon what you are doing, as there is a large jump between the "trial" gears and the "trail" gears 4 and 5. but I will tell you that the 44 tooth rear off the 125 makes 4th much more usable and narrows the gap but somewhat limits top speeds on 5th.
You may also find that riding average sections in 2nd is better, using 1st for only slow tight sections which gives you an option on the other end ov the spectrum!
-
As I recall, '02 was the year they increased the first gear. Many went to the 9 toth front but the 44 tooth rear off the 125 is better as the ratios fall in between the 9 and 10 tooth front.
Same for later years as well, ti will slow the bikes reaction, but so will a slow throttle and resetting the ignition timing.
-
Ok,Ok you got me, Barry!
You're just lucky David could not make it and Ryan's ankle is broke!
I got some good pics, so stay tuned!

I am becoming more sure that there is proof that the Iraqies do not have the common sense to govern themselves as the stupid basterds are too busy killing themselves over their own insane religeous infighting.
The extremists are just that, and have no common sense to leave anyone else alone. They WANT to blow up the entire western WORLD! Do you not understand that fact! They do not care who! GB IS a closer and easier target! The whole of Europe is the same! Makes no difference to them!
They should all be rejected or expelled, sent back if they love their religion and our economy that much!
-
Faltering upon beliefs?
Just look at N. Korea, they have been brainwashed into supporting their misguided leader while the country as a whole suffers! to accomplish what?
The foundation of hope, faith and god, regardless of religion, provides the basis of our exhistance.
That is the beauty thing about life, you do not have to scientifically prove anything, just open your eyes!
-
Craig, just take some of Bingo's money!
Sherco camp, Friday!
Be there! Free beer while it lasts!
