  1. Bear was Course Marshall, that is his name"Bear" that is all! He never seem to have any problems, specially with drunken sots like Andy! Nice guy! Had a piccie of myself on here somewhere taken with some Brit named Doug ! Have to find it!
  2. One thing to keep in mind as Dan stated is the fact that these are general guidelines ONLY for the clubs referance and standardization which is consistant with(not mandatory) the NATC and FIM! I do not think anyone is going to spend weeks drilling holes in granite to set little holders to keep ribbon off the ground for a club trial, it just is not gonna happen, and if it does then someone is WAY TOO ANAL for sure! I have not had anyone "push" a ribbon on the ground yet! Yet I have seen many stretch the "proper " boundries! Gates vs Splits: My current understanding, which some(myself included) may need defined. A "GATE" consists of TWO markers! A "SPLIT" may be just ONE, pointing a riders class in a direction, bounded by whatever natural terrain or section marking is there. Once again I may find this a laborious task in trying to set a club event, possibly even doubling the marking requirements in a section. Once again, flexability prevails in a practicle sense! 3ft or 4ft?- If you are NOT setting a National, it is up to WHO? All I am trying to say here is that I do not believe anyone is BOUND by these guidelines, and nobody should be too upset, am I correct Dan?

    Torque Settings

There are also standard torque values for metric bolts in aluminum in most automotive manuals that apply to bikes as well. Based upon the thread size and pitch!
  4. Welcome, Practice--- a lot! AND have fun with your mates doing it!
  5. Some how you missed the cactus juice! It will make you want to toss the othre bits!
  6. S-C-O-O-B-Y? Is that what you call their tops or their bottoms? We call it T---- and A--! Nice hood scoop on tha little riceburner! Does it FART too?
  7. Clive, I hate to be the one to break the news to you, but just because Kip told you that you suck does not make him a good instructor! He tells everyone you suck! Ego thing, maybe? ps-Don't feel bad, Chaves told me I sucked too, in spanglish! You are correct, how DO you make it to Spain to practice?
  8. Couple of ibuprofen before and or after, or both!
  9. Great observations Al! 1-If you also noticed that most the Euro Youth and Junior get together and practice! Some of it is spontanious, they push each other! Providing the oppertunity for a "get together" is a key factor! 2- Provide guidence , help and a "push"! Spark the flame! Wether it be Bruce, Ryan(maybe the best in the US), or others, even a minder or minders! People work together to help! 3- The Competition! Use what you learn! Reinforce the learning! Stretch your skills! ADD FUEL to the fire! BUILD THE FIRE WITHIN and nurture it for those that want it! Those kids have a lot of drive! And so do the Euro kids! Although the Youth nationals are a great thing and I do not want to criticize as I was not there, it did seem the format this year was opposite to the learning based theory I just stated here! Maybe others know differently! My 2c. MC
  10. I had one of them and can tell you a couple of thingies! Retard the ignition timing ALL the way to make the bike better at low revs and less prone to stalling and kickback. Be sure carb it set properly and set best mixture each ride with screw because of temp changes especially! The clutch is very good if working properly! Use it to creep and learn to "feel" for the sweet spot, regardless of revs! 50 is way too much change, don't come up shorting yourself! You may need it sometime! Hope that helps! MC
  11. Roumour has it that 7.0 will have everything Firefox has soon! Comments from the geeks section welcomed! I have not tried either, btw!
  12. The drive to Tenn and back took it out of him!

Well, it does look very,er uh, BLACK! Was told by Travis Fox recently that BUKU Graphics now has the heavy vinyl like the factory ones and they can do whatever you want. That way if it gets damaged just replace it and you don't have to worry about the paint! And if you get tired of it you can change it! But you know what they say, Once You Go Black!
  16. And maybe you could tell us WHY! Just for us poor dumb arses who don't know!
  17. I see which one you mean although I have newer had to replace one, the rubbing block for the swingarm. If they do not come drilled and sunk, I would have to take the dremel to it I suppose, the stones or abrasive bits may work better than the cutting bits on the rubber to provide a countersink. I use a 3/8 drum sander to clean out the ends of the Renthal rubber grips for bar end plugs and they work well, And a whatchacallit punch(like used for leather) usually makes cleaner holes. Whitney punch?I think it is called. My ideas for what its worth. Cheers, MC
  18. Ish, I seen some other nice stickers for thi wheels, with purple, and blue, and red and green, orange and yellow!
  19. Clive, can you get a print of that picture of you on the car? It really makes you look TALL! I'm working on that RedBull sponsorship too! They say you need a doctors release first! Then you have to sign all the liability release customary stuff. And there is a special note that if you get a woody for a car that lasts for more than four hours, you need to seek help, FAST!
  20. I seen that Dan got the piccies up on thr TTC site! Some really good ones too! Al even sported his best team jersey in one with Dean, and MichLin(Mr Casual) looked great too with Daniel! You should get a print of them! Now if Hanna can just talk someone out of one of them jerseys!
  21. Yep, needs some of my swingarm guards before you mess it up!
  22. Sounds like Howard has experience at fouling a main shaft!
  23. Wow, that's good Clive! I sponsor him! You want another 6 pack, of Dr Pepper?
  24. So you actually bought the 1.25 for Hanna? Thats great!
