    Chain Length

You should be able to obtain a proper replacement Sherco chain with the half link made on. Otherwise you will need to buy a 105 link chain, a chain breaker, and a half link which usually comes as 1.5 links and you will have two master links in the chain. A real pain in the a***. Have you tried cleaning and soaking your old one? How much adjustment is remaining on the cams?
  2. Recently installed the Boyesens and have had no problem but I did lean out the Fuel Screw a bit for the warmer weather now. Currently at 35/122, needle in 3rd slot(next to rich)and about 2 1/4 turns out on the screw, 80:1 mix full synthetic and a blend of premium 93 pump gas and 100 octane avgas to bump it a bit. Plug gapped at .020 The VX plug that the Dabster speaks of may have better anti-fouling properties but I cannot recall the exact number. Mine seems slightly "blubbery" off idle at about 1/8 throttle but not bad. I have considered playing with the needle or the low jet more but have not had time. I consider the Dellorto to be a fair 15 dollar carb so I don't complain much. I have a Kiehin which is a better carb and may just install it instead as it seems to be a better mixing device at low revs. You still need to rev the crap out of it on occasion just to keep it clean! MC
  3. Bend over and hold on to your socks big boy, and hang on tight!! Texas has a youth group as well! Go figure!
  4. Be sure it does not chew you up and spit you over the side of something! They are very quick and very powerful! Work best for an advanced rider! Build quality and maintenance are only an issue for those who care! To each his own, I have ridden them all and probably like my '05 Sherco 2.5 best so far. Although I will say that the 200 pro is a very nice bike. One fellow here got off the 300 pro in favor of the new and milder 280 stating that the prefers it because of the milder power being not such a "handful" of torque! You asked! Cheers, MC
  5. spark plug should be set to .020in or.5mm
  6. We'll miss you Craig! Come back Craig!, Come Back! What will little Patrick do without you? Apologise to Craig'y, Johnny Ringo, you meanie! You boys give each other a big hug and reacharound! And let the Beav watch!
  7. I understand that that was an issue on the '02 bike. Personally, I would call Ryan Young and ask him about it to see if he has a preferred method of repair. The only other thing I know is some expensive aircraft fuel tank sealer that should work, It's called "black crap" for a reason! MC

    Chain Length

That was what I was trying to say. With the 43 you should be able to get rid of the dreaded half link and have a bit to spare!
  9. Free is always good, hope it is a good bike, what kind is it? Rabie, EVERY trials here is 100 miles minimum, if you ride the mornings you must either drive up the prior eve and stay nearby or camp, or get up REALLY early to make the drive and get to thr Trial by 8:30 or 9:00am and be ready to ride with one eye open! Our PM riders get to score for the AM bunch and viceversa, we hope they are not awake yet on the first loop!
  10. Good to see you're still kik'in there Johnny!(pun intended)Nothin like a little Beav to wake you up! Ha!
  11. Over ere it is not uncommon to find a bike you like that is halfway accross the country. It just takes about 100 of your QUIDS to get it to you on a truck. Of course a liesurely drive of 2-300 miles is not uncommon either!
  12. My experience is that most all trials folks are a trustworthy lot. Small world! Call his references, local dealer or whatever, and ask them! Is the bike in the US?
  13. ALWAYS pull the air filter and inspect the inside lower part of the airbox for water/dirt after washing the bike or you will RUIN the motor! Yes I am sure, don't even ask why, just do it!
  14. Bike is probably ok unless you have noticed a major problem with it. It just takes time so ride as much as you can. A friend to mentor is a big help, or pay for a proper school to get you going. There are LOTS of hints and tips! The Ryan Young video is well liked by most! And a good reference in the future as well. Many are awaiting his forthcoming ADVANCED video as well!
  15. Trials is a bit like Golf, Keep swinging! Silly ball anyway! Most of us suck, only in a different class!
  16. You need ssome of my real carbon swingarm protectors too!
  17. Go ahead and spend your money for the BLUE ones like the piccy, center section only, and replace your rusty nipples. The blue chain adjusters look good too! Save the rest of your money for the blue Renthals, I have the number if you need it! The black looks **** on the '05 bike!
  18. Not positive about the Leonelli but i know on the previous Ducati systems tha weight was removed from the outer radius of the flywheel diameter for the 1.25 and the rest was essentially the same. I would suspect that the Leonelli systems are very similar.

    Build Quality

I suppose that confirms that Raga does not use the Magnesium swingarm!
  20. GOD, I was told that Scorpa riders are a bunch of pagans. Yoy will have to wait until they return from MardiGras and recover from their hangovers!
  21. Ishy has a valid point as many of us feel like the Doctor trying to guess what is wrong! Go ahead and "CUT",you silly *******! I want to say it all the time! Then there are the individuals that MUST figure it out themselves come hell or high water! They a are a bit different! The knowledge, experience and resources of a professional is a mighty thing, although even the best in their field are not always correct! However many times they may save you a lot of time and money as well as mental anguish! Odd problems exist that are not easily resolved and It can be as much of a learning experience for the teacher as the student! For the professionals, it then becomes the "THROW **** UNTIL SOMETHING STICKS" theory known as differential diagnosis, a well known scientific method! The computer field is a prime example of this! On the other hand, if I had not taken interist either out of neccessity or quriosity, I would not even be able to type this, as typing and computers were not even tought when I was in school. No less fix my bike, car, home, trailer, aircraft or computer when things go sour! I even commented to a homebuilder the other day that I do not understand how people AFFORD to have others attend to things every time the toilet stopps up! No less the normal wear and tear items and maintenance that a plumber or electrician will charge you for. Don't mention the cable guy or the stereo pro or the internet hook up! Cheers to those who choose to learn the hard way! If we fail to help and show a few of our peers the way to go about things, our successors will be a sorry lot! You cannot do a GOOGLE search for "help me fix my Gas Gas' PLEASE!" You poor *******s need help! I'll get off the soap box now! MC
  22. Just remove the flywheel and inspect the key. If it is stripped as expected just replace it and put it back together. Be sure the stator plate is secure and go on as the timing itself has not changed from factory, only the flywheel. There is a mark on the stator plate(at the top) that roughly alighns with the right edge of the top web of the case as I recall. don't mess if not needed! MC
