  1. This really brings me to a point that I want to share. Geoff has been our national champ since before I took up trials about 5 years ago. Even if I dont ride a gasser and don't cheer for gasser riders, I must admit that on the several times that I have talked to him, scored him in sections, good or bad, and spoken to him after a trial, a better fellow and more humble a professional would be hard to find. He is truly a great person and a great rider and has a lot of guts to attain his championship record and deserves a respect that most have not earned. Character like that should be emulated, I don't care what kind of bike you ride or how good you are! I would suppose that he would be pretty immune to adverse comments at this point in his life, he just comes to ride, and ride he does! The only thing I can say about the PRO class is that if you are going to contest it, you better be ready, Cody is soo good and has more experience now, Bruce has found first blood! Pat will have a tough go his first year. :madsanta:
  2. I just can't help it ,but the visual of Craig's old lady dragging him out by the ear after a few beers is just too much!
  3. i WOULD PAY JUST TO SEE CRAIGS FACE ABOUT NOW!

    Sherco Bars

Just a tidbit, when I removed the bars off my stock '05 Sherco to replace them with a set of Renthal 5.5" bars, I put them on the table and there was next to no difference in height or bend. I had been told that the stock Sherco bar was a 5.0" bar and that the 5.0" Renthal was the direct replacement, however this does not seem to be the case. However I do not have a set ov 5.0" Renthals to compare directly. Anyone find differently? MC
  6. Brian, send that stork over to Ringo's house!
  7. I think Ringo might make an honest attempt! He needs a new minder!
  8. I can see one of those "belly bashing" contests coming! This should be good!
  9. If that is the case then the Pros should be allowed to drop a round in the NATC championship if they actually want to ride the WR sections as it is a great oppertunity to ride with the top dogs in the world.(not that any of them might win but maybe be a contender) And many would like to see it. Keeps the fight in the young guns! Should be their option! All that being said, the general ruling may be more correct for the riding level of our riders which is why it was done. As it is, Mich Lin could'nt get any WR points! Ha!
  10. My initial thinking is that you are p***ing in the wind by trying to get the idle circuit on a dellorto to respond to anything. My next thought says why not go to a kiehin carb as it is a better mixer! Next thought, Mikuni!, why does everyone in trials use Kiehin(except Beta) as an upgrade After that, why not one of the Korean Kiehin copys that seem exact in every detail and I believe are available in 24 and 26mm sizes that could be perfected for trials use if someone would do it. As the 4t's progress on the carburated mounts, such a more precise metering device may be required! Just a couple of thoughts, cheers!
  11. I'm sitting here looking at a pair if Mitas trials tires, look like Michelin copies, but seem a bit stiff! Anyone know anything about them?
  12. The 4t Scorpa looks to be just the ticket if the seat were a bit thicker and longer, Then even Ishy could get the old knees to straighten out again! I agree as well that it should be done! Wish I had a piccy of the "wee" seat on the wifes Sherco, as it extends the load bearing area of the rear mudguard several inches, just enough to put your a*** without collapseing the thing and does not get in the way when riding feet up. when sitting on top of the mudguard, your knees are not bent too deeply to stand up. She really likes it!
  13. Hoorraay Bikespace! You hit the head on the nail! Nuff said! God forbid you had to touch up your scuffed paint on your frame, try re-chroming one!
  14. I have news for you, some of these kids, like Cody, don't even want to ride the 125's any more. They want to ride real bikes! What about a 200 or 250cc limit on HS class on the expert line. A US junior class championship? Just a thought!
  15. Same report as above on my '01 bike and my '03 bike! Looking to get another! Had one kickstart lever break, but maybe because a fall had weakened it. Cheers,
  16. I've GOT IT! Dan, for the National and WTC event, you can round up all the local girls, dress -um up like Hooters Girls with those tight little pants and stuff and teach them how to------WWOOOOOAAHH!--------------- I just had a flashback of the Wal-Mart in Kimball, -----nevermind! MC
  17. Darned, I was hoping Josh would win the series. I guess Fat Chuck showed up, I wish he had not! Who won it? I'm just happy to improve on my last place finishes of the last couple of years. Best to all!
  18. You guys give us some results from this weekend ASAP please!
  19. It seem a common issue here that most clubs small and large have great difficulty providing the manpower that it takes to put on a National. I know we had members from at least four clubs to staff the last couple of Texas events. A minimum of 24 observers per day is not easy to obtain. Given no other resources, this manpower would have to come from the ranks of the riders themselves(or their qualified family members and friends)say 12 per day would be chosen. In turn, these riders would be issued a bye or a set number of series points unless they were able to provide a family member or friend to fill in. This might actually encourage more direct participation by some folks. An assurance that at least half of the observers would be provided by the riders group and NATC might enable many smaller clubs to participate more readily instead of having to be soo hesitant to commit! Just food for thought! Of course there is always the split schedule that many of us use! I personnaly believe the NATC should fly in "Hooters Girls" to check at events. (are you listening Dan?)

    2.5 Vs 2.9

As the 2.5 is not as popular here in the States, is there anyone out there who can give a good comparison from experience! The term "quicker" does'nt seem to accurately describe the difference as after only a brief ride the '05 2.5 that I rode last weekend seemed very similar to my '03 2.9. I did notice that the 2.5 did not have the intake spacer that the newer 2.9 has. To be honest, as a clubman rider, I realize that I may actually do better on a somewhat milder bike than the 2.9, however I am not sure if the 2.5 is the answer. I really hoped that Sherco would produce a full 200cc bike(I'm still spoiled by real torque that the 163cc version does not have)but it does not appear that this is going to happen. Any comments? MC
  21. Steve, How do you remember all that stuff when you get old?
  22. Nice one Dan! Take one of Charlie from the rear view so we can show um a REAL cracking photo! MC
  23. Man, I'm sure glad that pic was from the frontside! Is that DUCTAPE on the front fender? Cheers!
