  1. Well its just a coil of wire with m magnet passing ofer it. Check the resistance to chassis earth and engine earth, I do not have a spec for you, although Splatshop may, or Steve at motoplat uk. inspect for shorts to earth of the wireing to stator, you may well have to remove it anyway for a rewind if needed. is this a Hydria or Leonelli?
  2. not a typical fault for the stator. there should also be r rectifier in that circuit to correct the voltage for the dc fan motor operation. it may also take voltage down if faulty. disconnect it and your ac voltage may jump up.
  3. in boiling water the thermo switch contacts should close at around 90-95 C as I recall. the old ones were marked with the rating.
  4. I would say 5-10 min when ridden
  5. I would think that just fine.
  6. nothing wrong with that bike. if ye baoght a lemon bike in the past then buy newer and better. if you want a low maint bike, then the monty slug may be for you.
  7. I would not be concerned as it is the pressure chances that makes them open or seal. I guess you may flip it over to see if it changes things, however I have seen worse on a new bike.
  8. I have had these seals leak after only a couple years with the alcohol induced fuels used widely. one can also shoot a bit of carby cleaner around flywheel side to see if it picks up the added fuel.
  9. splatshop can tellou for sure. call them
  10. crank seals may lead to lean running as well
  11. Yes as I recall the 12 was a direct upgrade for the 11. I have no other details.
  12. not rattling badly then yes, ring it and go, as a bit or rattle is a non issue. Agree on the EIX plug as well, but you know, they allways need a good thrashing or a drag race or two during a day out, just to get some real heat into the exhaust and get the gunk flowing. mind you it may get real smokey for a bit, but that is a good thing.
  13. do they make black textured condoms? I like the heave duty features.
  14. the rad must be left low on fluid to allow for coolant expansion when hot under load.
  15. on inspection the rubber boot that sits at bottom of reservoir was full of water Really, and no fluid as well? what does that tell you? do you thnk the fluid evaporates?
  16. Does your son ride the bike well? if he does he likely revs it hard at times. I have never seen a new ring fix a piston rattle, an off to Langcourts would likely be needed. Stick with 80 to 1 ratio meself, and away from the Castrol 747, which runs quiet because it gunks up a low revving motor, not designed for it!
  17. The Tryals shop, or Lewissport would be a good start. Call to check.
  18. there is no real issue here. pump seals can fail over time not unlike any other. the jitsie kit claims increased cooling, a solution looking for a problem that is not there really, yet they sell.
  19. Adjust it so the tire fits and be done with it.
  20. you are such a good bitch, oni !
  21. it says 3.0 so it is a 300(actually 305 I believe) and yes, they were around then
  22. Call Adrian Lewis, he would know.
