  1. I am not sure what you mean...my reference was toward the "morale" due to hearing about sad stories daily. At least thats all that gets published in my papers. You get kinda sick of it ya know. Anyways its already working. The editor emailed me back within 10 minutes with this line in particular. "Actually I am crafting a story right now, what would make you think our paper has "little interest"?"
  2. Done- I understand that your publication holds little interest in that of young Pat Smage winning the youth class at a recent motorcycle World Trials Championship. Though I can see that you may have little interest I must tell you that this news is simply amazing. Not in over 20 years has an American even come close to winning an event of this caliber. In fact this is such an accomplishment this subject is on the forefront of newspapers and online newsgroups from around the world with much discussion. In this present day, this country, your readers, need a little pick me up. With our situation in Iraq morale is down while the death toll of our soldiers is up. Be a patriot and publish something upbeat and positive in your publication. Thank you for your time.
  3. Not to mention the titanium header.... Arent the axles Ti also?
  4. I currently ride a Sherco but had the pleasure just this weekend of riding a Raga Rep and a Pro 300. The Raga was totally different. It was lighter and the power was smoother and felt like it was on rails. It was(the Raga) the only bike other than my own that I could jump on and ride and feel good on right away. My only complaint was the clutch was a bit tougher to pull, but something I am sure I could get used to. I wasnt a Gas Gas fan before but I a now...at least the Raga edition. Since we are on this subject....I was told by a dealer that if Raga did not win the World outdoor championship this year the Raga rep will not come out next year. Is that true?
  5. I currently use Cytomax as my drink but I am changing to a product called E Fuel from Crank. The reason for the change is the Crank has alot less sugars in it so you dont hit that low after the high. This E Fuel is very popular in the Triathalon world. I used it for 1 one weekend and I noticed a difference. Post excersise recovery is greatly eased. I cant stand the heat. I asked a Triathalete friend (also a ER Doctor) what he does. Basically he said to hydrate well starting a few days ahead. Get your potassium and your sodium levels up. He uses bannanas and salted pretzels.
  6. I am "solidly" a novice . Guess I'll leave the bike home.
  7. Do they run "Novice" at the Nationals?
  8. My son is just starting to use his Oset 12.5. It seems to be a great little bike. I love the control I have over him on the bike. I just wish there was a little motor braking on it so it doesnt freewheel as much. My question is for those of you that have been using these little bikes...What have you found as far as service issues, problem points, or anything else that I should know about? So far I have had a few minor issues like a broken connector and some loose bolts on receiving the bike...other than that this bike is great.
  9. Hi Hugo...hows things? This may be of no use to you but...... I too had the same symptoms with my shock(same bike). I would clean it and go for a quick ride and again I would have oil residue there. I took the shock off cleaned and inspected it throughly. Later...I found I was wasting my time because I finally realized that my crankcase breather hose was venting right onto my shock. This is probably not your case but I really wished I had someone suggest to me to check that breather hose before I tore into the shock.
  10. I run Maxima oils. In teh premix I like the 927. Its castor based so you have to pipe it up every now and then to clean it out. In the clutch I run MTL-2. Seems to work out pretty good. I run my ratio at 70-1. I hear most run it at 80-1 without a problem.
  11. Where are you from? Ryan Youngs Observed Trials Techniques is a good one to start with.
  12. Sorry to hear...but very glad to hear your Dad is improving. Best wishes on his recovery!
  13. Rik Smits....wow. I had no idea.
  14. Thanks Brian....I will.
  15. I am a novice so I like smooth rolling hills Thanks for the info. I am just trying to fill the gaps in my series schedule. Its nice riding different places. I also plan a trip north of the border to Quebec.
  16. Do they have competition day passes at D6?
  17. Thanks...I am newer to trials so I wasnt sure. Though I have been lanscaping all my life and never heard of him

    Ssdt Rider?

I was looking through the day one results and noticed the name D.Thorpe. Is this the former 500cc MX World Champ David Thorpe? I looked around and couldnt find anymore info.
  19. On Shercos the digit 8 places from the end signifies the year of manufacture, whereas most bikes that digit represents the model year. Sherco's are weird like that. You can rest assured that your bike is an "07" it was just bult in "06". Your "04" matched up because it was built in "04".Over here in the states this creates a problem when registering a bike with the local officials. The computer system red flags these numbers because the model year does not match what the frame numbers should be.
  20. I'd like to add the great David Bailey to the list. I took a MX class with his father when I was a kid and he said "if you really want to be a great rider park the MX bike for a year and try trials". David was apparently very good.
  21. Not really a big problem....kind of a little one. That hole is to let you know that the water pump seal has failed. It weeps when the seal goes. It needs to be replaced.
  22. Thats what I suspected you guys were reffering to. Thanks.I was thinking. Is there any chance the trials master..or clerk of the course did it this way on purpose to make some riders think out of the box? The again...if its a rule that a straight line is suppose to be used why would someone even ask riders to do that?
  23. I dont mean to sound like a total dummy but can someone explain what we are talking about here. I watched all the vids and I must say I really dont know how the section was suppose to go because it seemed that riders were all over the map on this one. Go easy...i am pretty new to trials, especially the World events. Also..I must agree the vids were great!
