  1. " Trials is a cheap motor sport that most of the club riders use as a day away from the missus!! .. start telling them that they have to pay for the top riders and i know where they will tell you to stick your licence...." Very true - remember there are many AMCA riders in the south - no licence required. Increasing licence cost will just increase this number. ACU should scrap licence/reg & just charge fees on a per trial basis. It would cost me more - but does encourage the casual rider more. And everyone pays........

    Winter

    Southern trials are such fun!
  3. The difference.... Keihin modern flatslide. Mikuni old round slide. Both work well, The Keihin does work well on gassers though. As for Powerblade - there is a version fo 80 MX bikes that in theory fits Mikuni. However the blade is too far away from slide on a Beta's Mikuni. Its a neat shrink fit & could be a good starting point.

Depends on your location: oop north first gear, down south fourth!

  6. Nick, it seems you had an interesting day at the Milan Show. Jolly decent of you to lend your photos to that Italian trials web site too.

  8. Pardon the spam! try www.motomerlin.co.uk Ebay & Paypal spoken there........
  9. My mate rode a Merlin blagged from Dave Renham in the Sammy Miller Trial in Devon recently. He really struggled and was way off form almost entirely due to the ancient rear tyre fitted. It had age hardend and was utterly useless. However I had a quick ride - engine ran well, had decent power & pick up, - but rest of bike was loose & twitchy.....This was a well used example hastily pressed into service & is probably for sale - all collectors please note!
  10. Try Eastbourne mcc: http://www.edmcc.com/ Enthusiastic trials club - & may have practice areas...

    Pampera ?

Don't know of any UK bash plate supplies now... I'd be surprised if the Rekluse clutch fitted. I expect its made for the EC Enduro range which has a much bigger clutch
  12. Beta still sell the 200 in the UK at least .....and its cheaper than last years, yipee! These may only be for UK market, not sure. When riding in France the natives were unaware of 200 Betas existance
  13. Does the AMCA cover Scotland? If so start an AMCA club. It can't be difficult - we did it!
  14. How do they operate then? Surely they need some income. What about the legal claims they may have to fight etc? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> No Licence cost...........There are the usual event fees/insurances etc
  15. Be aware of the competition : AMCA - no licences, no cost .........at least in the south.
  16. Measure size etc & go to local car parts factor. Plenty of rad hose there. Something will be close. Thats what worked for me.........

    Tricker

Saw a stock tricker out in France last week. Looked good. Rider was playing on dry dirt mounds & on roads. Should have taken a pic...However rim sizes are not suited to off road tyres, which is a bummer as it looks just the tool for Trail Bike trials.
