  1. Anyone already do a cross check for new (or more available used) rear caliper for the 2004REV 250? None available (USA ) but maybe there is another bike/brand also using the same AJS/Braktec rear? I know some scooters used them too but not sure models. Joe
  2. New riders get too frustrated in the first few months or so just trying to kick start the bikes since they regularly stall them. Eliminating one of the early frustrations helps them get over the hump in the learning stage and you have much better success. Joe
  3. Electric start Yamaha TTR 125 would be much better than that. Joe
  4. I would think that after 3 years, the O.P. has it figured out by now. Joe
  5. Welcome to the Beetah club.
  6. Brake shoes: Montesa $12.80-$16.80 all other brands $2.49-$3.99. The NGK plugs have only doubled since then. Joe
  7. Looks like 12.0 to 1 and like I said it's a real bugger to kick. May be one reason Beta greatly reduced it in later years. https://bikez.com/motorcycles/beta_rev_3_2004.php Joe
  8. The 2004 Beta REV 250 I have states 12.5 to 1 somewhere in the manual. A bugger to kick that left side mini lever too. Later on the evo's went to 9.5 to 1 as a reference. Joe
  9. Here is what an 04 looks like color and graphics wise:
  10. Here ya' go. https://www.denniskirk.com/dennis-kirk-inc/kickstand-pad-dkpad.p507261.prd/507261.sku?cid=17917642306&gclid=CjwKCAiAu5agBhBzEiwAdiR5tKAlTLxx5HFHs-pOwpU3hJUOSWonn0Mcj1llugupsK7yZKebMYn-0hoCbHcQAvD_BwE
  11. Good one, LOL. (Freudian slip?). Joe
  12. Big difference in compression between Rev and Evo. I believe the Rev is 12.5 to 1 and Evo is 9 to 1 so that makes Evo much easier to kich over. Joe
  13. Have been looking at and considering MTB helmets with mouthguards myself. Joe
  14. Well that was easier than mine. Turns out previous owner decided to connect kill switch ground wire to the positive yellow lead from the magneto (???).....effectively grounding out any D.C. accessories. In my case this was the fan, which never came on when I first got it. Took a bit to figure out and then fix. Good as new now. Joe
  15. Well, you are asking about a 26 year old bike and the odds that someone else that HAS that same one AND knows the values you asked about are very, very low. Much newer and much more common one would have fairly quick answers. Sorry (and you probably don't want to hear this anyway). Joe
  16. Yes. Fan works so if bridging wires also activates fan then it's the thermo switch. Joe

Sorry. That I do not know. Joe
  18. Correct.......you know your thermo sensor works and fan comes on as it should when engine warms up. You can also manually turn on the fan with jumper so fan works, and thermo sensor works. O.P. Lonewolf knows his does NOT turn on when hot, but needs to narrow it down to fan, thermo switch, or wiring. To verify if thermo switch is culprit, he needs to jumper wire and if fan DOES come on, we know wiring and fan are good but thermo switch is bad. If when he jumps wires the fan still does not come on then it still could be 1 of the 3 being bad ( fan, wiring, switch). He then needs to remove fan and apply 12v to it via a battery and if it works, then we know it is a wiring problem. Wirie to the fan should be in the wiring schematic for his year Evo and needs to trace and verify. Joe

Search EBAY for a good condition used oem one and rebuild internals if needed. Joe
  20. I would think that "if the fan DOES come on", then the thermo sensor is bad. Jor
  21. Jump a wire between the 2 leads that connect to the temp sensor on the radiator that come from the fan. Fan should run (while bike is running). If fan doesn't run when you jump the 2 wires, either the fan stopped working, or it is wired incorrectly. Mine had same issue and I discovered previous owner had for some strange reason wired in a kill button (ok), and then proceeded to wire kill ground wire to yellow hot wire from the magneto thereby grounding out any DC powered accessory which was the fan on mine. You DO want the fan to run on a trials bike nearly all the time after engine gets up to temperature as low speeds and small radiators are involved. Joe
  22. So your cdi works on his bike, with his coil and when you try your cdi and your coil it doesn't? If so, your coil sounds like the culprit. Joe
  23. In here somewhere (at least for the 280) so 250 should be within a KG or two? Joe
