  1. Yes, the "R" is resistor. The 5 is one step hotter than spec'd for the Rev so just wondering if the "6" that is called for by Beta was fouling on folks so they went to the "5"? Joe
  2. Dirtrider86: I am in WA state and a few weeks ago my local trials club offered a beginners course for new to trials riders. It was SO good and informative. Everyone was focused on making sure you left with the basics and can continue on your own. I would look for a class like that offered by any Colorado trials club. Joe
  3. So my new to me '04 Beta Rev 250 currently has an NGK BP5ES plug in it and the Beta specified Champion crosses over to a 1 step colder BP6ES plug. What are you guys using and if you are also one step hotter, why? Joe
  4. Should be interesting for you to UN-do what is incorrect/broken and make it yours. Joe
  5. Looks good. Doing similar stuff on my new to me Rev, but not needing as much done. New parts and wrenching make all the difference. Joe
  6. Just pull the 2 wires on the thermocoupler on the radiator and jumper the 2 together with a wire. Fan should run (with engine running). Joe
  7. Black coated forks and exhaust protector look like a 2008? https://betausa.com/trials-hisotry/ Joe
  8. .....Over four years later: I had the same "no fan" issue as Bigus and his Rev3 (2004) with the same bike and year. No fan either through the thermo switch, or from jumping the switch wires for me too. This is a new bike to me so not sure what was going on. Tore down front end and removed the fan. It ran fine with power directly applied, so started digging into the wiring. Previous owner had disconnected the lighting and taped over the wires (ok). Then I spotted it. SAME exact dumb "custom splicing" as above! They connected the kill switch ground (blk) wire directly to the yellow DC feed from the magneto. Why was this done on both my and Bigus's Rev 3's? Doesn't make sense at all. I reconnected yellow to yellow and ran the kill ground wire to a suitable spot with the coil ground and the fan now works. Amazing.
  9. USA, but I realize that many suppliers in Europe ship to USA reasonably too. Thanks, Joe
  10. New rider here with a Beta Rev. Does anyone have a decent list of online parts and gear suppliers? Thanks. Joe
