This is great info, I really appreciate the input from this knowledgeable group!

I take it back, when I got back home I took a closer look at the engine number and there does appear to be an “A” after the number

Thanks for comments. The engine number is exactly the same, no “a” present. The bike runs and rides really well, love the bike but now, with the comments in here, I’m really interest in its history!

Hi all, I just picked up this 79 Bultaco 350, I think it’s a 199a, frame and engine number match, JB 19909070, wondering if number provides any useful info? The bike is in the US. thanks Matt
  5. What kind of pressure gauge are folks using to measure fuel pressure? thanks Matt
  6. Any tips on replacing the needle bearings? Any special tools required?
  7. On a side note, I’ve found that my idle drops fairly significantly as the inside of the throttle body gets dirty. Just clean the throttle body and I bet the idle returns to normal. I clean mine with some carb cleaner each time I clean the air filter (monthly), really surprised by the difference it makes to idle speed
  8. I put a new plug in a couple of weeks ago (2019 DL Rep 300) and gapped the plug to 0.75 instead of 0.7. The bike was really hard to start when warm, checked the manual and realized my mistake, re-gapped the plug correctly and have had no issues since. I know not everyone is a dumb as me but thought it worth mentioning!! Matt
  9. Hi Primodious, any chance I could get a copy? mattbradders@yahoo.co.uk thanks Matt
  10. I would also love a copy for a 2019 300! mattbradders@yahoo.co.uk Thanks Matt
  11. I'll throw some of that sunny weather in my case, (I'm coming home to the UK for crimbo) but wouldn't you rather have a white Christmas? I'd like to use a little fill flash, the strong sun (sorry, don't mean to rub it in) here in Arizona sometimes causes faces to be underexposed if the sun is behind the subject. I wouldn't use it though because I don't want to disract the riders. I have the canon 550 which when used in manual mode works great, like I said, I haven't used it at a trial yet. So which lens did you go for? Matt
  12. I have a couple of galleries on Pbase, the first (Oak flats trial) was taken with 70-200 2.8L IS - I found it too long. The second (Table Mesa trial) was with my 24-70 2.8L I think this is the better lens for trials because there isn't really any restriction on getting close to the riders (for local club trials) I would like to try my 50 1.4 next time though, small and light, fast with great DOF - We'll see. Both with a 30D body. http://www.pbase.com/mattbradders/oak_flat...;view=slideshow http://www.pbase.com/mattbradders/table_me...;view=slideshow Matt
