  1. Pinkbike - Scroll back to page one of this thread - I listed how to fix your problem- however also check the float level as per the Beta UK service sheet. Cheers Outlaw Dave
  2. Why not contact Malcolm Rathmell - he's the Sherco Importer and will have the parts in stock.
  3. Get yourself some "Braking" pads from Rathmell's - the wavy disks all tend to squeal with galfer pads - make sure you clean the rotor before fitting,

    Wilber Shocks

Hey Boros - We did that on a lot of Beta's - but just cut the inner tube to fit then sliced down the middle & wrapped around the shock -secured with three zip ties. keeps all the crap from the shock and is cheap. - we also recommend using Opti Pro shop spray ( available in Canada and USA) for use after riding or washing for forks and rear shock. ( better than wd 40)
  5. Hey Doug - There may still be time to have a Vintage Class in the upcoming WEC Canadian Championship - I suggest you contact Dean Mayke - Either way, we always have ( for the last 22 years) a Vintage Class at the Outlaw Trial in The OK Valley. - This has now become a Series of three events - All it takes is enthusiasm and perseverance.
  6. Hi Craig - Yes that pic shows a young Stan campaigning a 200 Monty He competed in a number of World Rounds in the 1980's and also rode a few of the Kickstart events in the UK. - He was twice Canadian Champion. These days, Stan lives in Portland Oregon, and spends his winters in Mexico.
  7. I see that there are Four Canadian riders in the SSDT this year, the largest contingent for quite a while. - The best known of these is Stan Bakgaard, who last rode the event in 1984 finishing 13th on a TY 250. - Stan will be mounted on a Sherco for this year's Trial.
  8. If you want to have fun - then buy the Sherco - they have fantastic power but are light and in spite of what some people say - the 08 was easy to start hot or cold - you just have to learn the 4 stroke technique. - While the Honda and Beta are both very well built machines - the 08's were only 250 and a bit underpowered - Going to the bigger bore - ie around 300cc is similar to a 250cc two stroke - As somebody suggested the best thing to do is try and get a ride on them all.
  9. Regarding the Beta Mikuni carb - the factory fix cures any leak problems ie: drilling the float bowl as has been mentioned many times on this site. - The 08 Keihin only leaks if the float needle is not seating properly. to fix this simply "lap in" the needle very gently holding the end with a pair of needle nosed pliers. - Unlike the Mikuni or Del Orto carbs. the Keihin does not have a removable brass seat. - - Sometimes stale gas (Petrol) causes a varnish to build up on the rubber tip of the needle. The float height is also critical and should be set as per John Lampkin's service bulletin.
  10. It would help if you said where you are located ie Which part of the world? -If you are in the UK contact John Lampkin he will give you all the help you need.
  11. I never thought that Dougie would ever be the "Under dog" - But I know he will give it everything he's got, and for that I hope that he succeeds. Way to go Beta boy. And that's from all your Canadian fans.
  12. Hey Zippy - I just bought a Panasonic SDR S7 - mini camcorder and am very pleased with it I bought a 8 mg card with it and can take about an hour of video with the stock battery - Its very small and fits in the top pocket of my riding jacket. I got it at The Future Shop in Vernon. BC Canada for $259.00
  13. Hey Matt - Great looking web -site - don't forget that keeping it up to date is really important ( something that many Champ riders neglect) You will have lots of "Fans" clicking on to see how your doing - All the Best Outlaw Dave
  14. The work on the 2009 Canadian WEC Trials Championship is going ahead according to plan We have Professional people in charge, and it will be a resounding success.
  15. The 2007/2008 models are quite a bit "zippier" than the older ones.
  16. Spencer - The decision on how to go about this new series, was not some spur of the minute idea, no matter what event is held, there is no guarantee that riders will show up - you have found that out yourself. - The series is a result of discontent with the present system - if riders come - great - if they prefer to do otherwise, so be it. - the reason the Outlaw Trial was chosen as the inaugural event, is because it has a 22 year history, and a proven record of approx 60 riders every year. - This is only the start - I anticipate other clubs wanting to host the Western Championship in 2010. - I stress that what the CMA decide is of no consequence to either the WEC and certainly not the Manufacturer supported MCC.
  17. And then there's the two I've got in Canada !!!

  22. Hi Kevin - I have sent you a pm today as I am located only 30 mins up the road from where you live. In actual fact the sport is often referred to as a "Secret" in many parts of North America, but we have many riders in the Okanagan Valley of BC, and ride every Sunday. We have held one of the longest running Trials in Canada ( The Outlaw Two Day) for the past 22 years, all you have to do is give me a call and we will get you out to try some different bikes & meet the local lads. - It really is that easy.

    Rev 4t On Ebay

The first 2008 model we got did not have the guard - the second one did !!
  24. Get a ride on a Sherco 320 4T - They have lots of power. and are the best price.
  25. In Canada or the USA - Check out a Product called OPTI PRO - this is available at most Lawn & garden Dealers in the USA - It dispels water and leaves a film of oil on the chain. - MUCH better than WD 40. Keeps chains and spoke nipples rust free.
