  1. Thanks Andy - Hopefully We can get some interesting dialogue (note English spelling) going.
  2. Back in the 1950's - many of the British Road Racers used to ride Trials in the off season, which was at that time just a winter sport - names like Geoff Duke and John Hartle were often seen at our events in the Cheshire Centre. In Canada, Jordan Szoke also likes to ride trials events, when he is not Road Racing. and he has been a member of the Trials des Nations Team on at least two occasions. - the list is endless, and includes top Enduro riders like Stefan Merriman who rode World Trials on an Aprilia.
  3. I've said it before and I'll say it again, -I have dealt with Sammy for about 30 years and ALWAYS get fantastic service. - You guys who seem to have a grudge should maybe take a look at yourself before making sarcastic remarks about one of the greatest Trials riders of all time.
  4. Where-about - it's a big place !
  5. Hopefully you turned the gas off before you parked it?
  6. Ryon Young's training video is the best in the opinion of most people.
  7. Hey Chader - Glad you finally got out riding - WE know only too well what the long winter snow is like. - My buddy from Elko also got out for his first ride last Sunday, Elko is just North of the USA border near Fernie BC. Have fun and maybe think some more about coming to the Outlaw Trial in May.
  8. Hey Chader - If you want to ride a trial with rules that allow you to hop bop or whatever come ride the Annual Outlaw Trial in British Columbia - It goes every May long weekend. The snag is that I lay out 99% of the sections so that trick riding isn't required - I think it's fantastic to see the skills of the young guys, and therefore don't set up rules that penalize them for either stopping, hopping or rolling back. - The Trial's been going on for over 20 years with young and old enjoying the sport without too much confusion. - Like Ishy says "Its a game - all about having fun"- you can check out details of the Trial on my website www.outlawtrials.com - ( Hope it's OK to post this Andy?)
  9. Before you do anything - change the tranny oil to a NON Synthetic - some synthetics can cause clutch slip try changing it with a cheap 10w40 - run it for about an hour then dump it and refill with a better quality non-synthetic.
  10. Hey Lee - Those are neat pictures - must say the guy who built the Honda twin/Fan - did a great job - how did it run?
  11. Hi Kyle - Yes if you go to my site you can see info on the bikes, and if you email your address, I will send you a Brochure. I don't know of any Trials guys in Alaska - the nearest to you would be Gerry in Prince George BC ( Thanks for the plug Dave)

    Cv Carbs

Hey Cdn 280 - Better let your fellow Ontarian and Trials Expert Jordan Szoke know this as he just did a demo on the Beta 4T at the Vancouver show - He was so impressed he immediately ordered a bike. Also the Beta factory would likely need to know this, plus Steve Saunders etc - because they are obviously unaware of this!
  13. Mick rode the mono Yam in the 1975 World Rounds in Canada and the States It also had a "pumper" carb on it - Mick told me it would keep running even up-side-down ( not that he ever was)
  14. Hi Gaz - I have two of the Fantic 240's now - picked up for the Outlaw Vintage Series You can see pics of them on my site www.outlawtrials.com Are you ever gonna make it over to Canada?
  15. The lad was on a roll with the Beta so I doubt it's the change of bike.
  16. You are right of course Wiltshire Boy !! TC is the biggest and best in the World.
  17. Check out my site - http://www.outlawtrials.com - the most popular Trials site in Canada ( so I'm told) plus some old pics from near Oswestry where I lived until 1965 - The blog is updated daily. Happy New Year Everybody
  18. Thanks for the plug VC - And I agree that one pic looks like it's taken in Vernon. BC. However, 'fraid it isn't - There is a bike now at the Importers in Coquitlam, which will be on display at the Tradex Show in January ( Orders now being taken) I have been trying to get hold of my website guy to fix the problem - no luck so far today hope he hasn't gone to the UK on vacation or I'm going to be really jumping up & down.
  19. Well I can vouch for the fact that Fracy 'aint gay - in fact in my book he 'aint that old he's the same age as my kid !! - This should now drag onto a quite boring - "When I was a lad riding Trials in the early '50's" Da de Da !! - BUT - hopefully the goddam snow will quit by tomorrow so I can go try out the new 07 Beta - You are quite simply as old as you feel. Best Wishes to all you guys & gals "Down Under"
  20. Good one Scudo - but it's long distance for you.!! - Seasons Greetings to everybody!
  21. Oh Billy !! You do get riled up - and of course tend to bad mouth folk - I don't really care if you've had ten Scorpa's - the one I rode was actually at Cascade. thanks to Don Doerksen - I merely thought that you of all people would be lined up to buy one of the new Beta 4T's ( Not from me because The Vancouver area is not my territory) - As somebody on an earlier post said - I thought this forum was all about riders helping riders - with some humour ( Note English spelling) - Sorry I ruffled your feathers " Laddie".
  22. Billy - Are you are telling stories again? - I know where you got your Scorpa - in fact I think I might have had a ride on it before you did - In my opinion the carburation was way off and I didn't like the clutch on it. Hopefully the FACTORY will get it sorted out. - I'm sure a Beta enthusiast like yourself will soon be on the the new Rev 4 - after all this seems to work fine according to all the posts from the UK AND it has a Mikuni.
  23. I have a blue one in stock - email me - daverhodes@shaw.ca - if you're interested Located Vernon BC -
  24. I got mine from Sammy Miller - excellent footage but I think the commentary could be improved - Dan Thorpe should stick to riding the bike. ( Nothing against the lad)
  25. Carl - check the pics on my website www.outlawtrials.com click on gallery p3 snow pics - ALL of the modern bikes are all Michelin The Beta with Michelin will go where other bikes can only dream. Canada like Sweden has the most testing conditions.
