  1. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all you guys in the Maritimes - Good luck with your events in 2015.
  2. Dixie - You are correct about the Beta 200 - most underestimated Trials bike on the market. IMHO. - Brilliant.
  3. Hi Will - Not familiar with the name & I've been involved with Trials in Canada since 1969 - Unfortunately sidecar Trials has never caught on, this side of the pond. not sure why.
  4. Press Release - The WTC ( World Trials Canada) a division of the WEC and MCC Canada. - Wish to announce a new Electric Trials Class for 2015, to encourage younger riders to participate in the sport.
  5. You know Steve - I really think it's time you stopped spouting all this BS - When you wanted to start an independant Canadian Trials Riders association, BECAUSE you were p****d off at the CMA, - I supported you - then after I turned the reigns over to you it fell on it's face -When I was asked to host a National event for WEC you thought this was a good idea - - no joining fee - free insurance etc - the CMA was still a bad thing in your mind - now all of a sudden you have a change of heart and decide to cozy up to CMA - which is fine by me - but DON'T knock or run down people who have been in this sport a hell of a lot longer than you have, and have put on more events than you've had hot dinners. The CMA might be the FIM affiliate - but very few riders in Canada give a hoot about that - The WTC offer a low cost alternative without all the BS. - Interestingly enough at our Revelstoke event, we had a 50-50 draw for the CMA TDN fund - we want to promote the sport in Canada even though we might differ in our opinions. As for Faustino Marin - I can tell you after a very successful WTC Western Canadian Championship in Revelstoke the guy is a very good rider, plus I don't think he is lying when he tells me he trained with Toni Bou - The results and facts speak for themselves - the rest you need a shovel for. ( Feel free to check out the info on other sites) BTW The BEST riders in Canada that you refer to don't even compete anymore in the West - Will Duggan, Wilson Craig etc - except in their own backyard - - and as we found out with CTRA - ( Canadian Trials Riders Association - Mr Fracy's idea) - this Country is too big to try and stage a National series or even a Two Day National - only Jon English, who happens to be an Air Canada Pilot has made it to to events in the West in recent years - - we are living in a huge Country and an economy that is not doing well except for perhaps Alberta. The bottom line is I've no time for bull**** - I've been promoting Trials in Canada for 42 years, and I think I have a pretty good record. - and right now for me thats with the WTC. -
  6. Hi Dabster - Neither had we until a few weeks ago, but it seems he rode in the Junior World Trials a few years ago - At his first showing at an Alberta Trial a few weeks ago, he beat out Ex Brit Steven Foord to take the Expert win on an old borrowed 2001 Sherco - then followed this up, by taking the Expert class at the next event beating the 2nd best rider by a total of 48 points - As Steve mentioned the #1 rider in Canada at the moment also competes in Enduro and due to an unavoidable conflict of dates, he is committed to riding the WEC race this weekend , (also in BC).. - However, we will have a good turn-out in all classes, including the #2 ranked rider in Canada, who will also be on the Canadian TDN Team later this year. - Brandon Wince lives in Kelowna, BC and has also ridden the Scottish. Sam King is a young Australian who is visiting Canada on vacation, and he rode the 125 class in the World Round in Australia earlier this year finishing 5th.
  7. The WTC Western Canadian Trials Championship goes this weekend (June 28/29) in Revelstoke BC - This will be a "First" at this beautiful location, which is centered near the Glacier House Resort. - With all sections accessable by vehicle - spectating at this event will be easy and enjoyable. In the Champ Class, we will have a couple of International riders, with Sam King from Australia, mounted on the Outlaw Trialsports Beta, while Spanish rider Tino Marin will be on a Blackfoot Motorcycle sponsored Sherco. They will go head to head with the top Canadian riders, - Brandon Wince (Beta) from Kelowna, and Alex Walton (Beta) from Vancouver will be competing, but as with all Canadian Trials events, we won't know until the sign in, just who will decide to show up ( Not like the UK where you have Pre -registration) This will be the first Trials event for the Revy Rider's, who are mainly an Enduro/MX Club, but with lots of enthusiasm, and a trail system and Enduro-Cross / MX track - this is definitely a "Destination" spot for all Off Road activity.
  8. The WTC (World Trials Canada) Eastern Canadian Championship goes this weekend in Quebec - and The Western Rounds take place in Revelstoke BC on June 28/29. Posters for both events can be seen on Trials Canada - www.trialscanada.com.
  9. Biff - Give Taff a call at (780) 918-5850 - he's usually up for a beer
  10. The WTC sanctioned Outlaw Three day Trial will be held at Scotch Creek BC on May 17/18/19 ( last day is Vintage) contact Outlaw Dave for further info - daverhodes@shaw.ca

    Beta Evo

    As above- None
  12. Don't compare the Beta to another brand - compare it to another Beta - see if there is any difference.
  13. As somebody who cut my thumb off back in 79 - not on a Trials bike, but in a Cross Country race on an Enduro bike, -( I crashed & the bike landed on top of me) - I think any safety features are admirable, - I was lucky to have mine re-attached by micro surgery, 8 hours later, after walking 14 miles out of the bush in Western Canada ( everybody got lost) - but I can tell you this - it's not something I would wish on anybody - it took a long time to heal, and you certainly don't think about cost or design change at a time like that.
  14. In Canada we found the 2013 bikes ran better with the needle in the richest position ie: clip at the bottom.
  15. We have found that the rear tubeless all crack around the sidewall, sometimes after only one ride. - As somebody else pointed out, you get what you pay for - my local distributor is trying to dump his stock cheap - on the plus side the enduro tires seem fine.
  16. Well done Michael for all your efforts,- However, I should point out that Trials demos have been going on at bike shows all across Canada for at least three decades - Stan Bakgaard used to put them on in the 1980's -While the ATRA, SGC and CPTA clubs always do their best to promote at these shows. - You are correct of course in saying that many people are not aware of our sport, so any exposure has to be a good thing - keep up the good work - Sorry to hear the last day of your Moncton show had to be cancelled because of the snow-storm.
  17. As above - but as it looks like you are in cold conditions that might also effect the operation.
  18. Today I'm shipping off a rear mudguard for a JCM Europa to a customer in the UK who couldn't find one - It's been hanging on the wall of my shop since 1990. - Unfortunately I don't have any other parts for this bike.
  19. The dates have now been confirmed for the WTC National Trials Championships. The Eastern Rounds will be held in Quebec on June 7/8, while the Western Rounds will go on June 28/29 in Revelstoke, British Columbia. - For more information, contact Outlaw Dave.
  20. I have to agree with the dad of 2 - the sport is not in good shape, but over here in the Colonies (Canada) we try yo to encourage people to come out to events by hosting camp-outs where "Over- weight" riders, can sell their ideas around the camp-fire. - Usually it doesn't matter next day what the bike weighs.
  21. The front page of this website shows a a pic of a CMA logo with the words - a Shake up in Canadian Trials. - To put the record straight, nothing has changed, except one person has decided to leave the well organized and well funded by the MMIC - WTC - Trials in Canada is alive and well under the umbrella of the WEC/WTC.
  22. At this point no - all the rear tires we have had in Canada crack the side walls in about 4-5 rides. - The factory are working on the problem
  23. The Ady Brown Trial at Scotch Creek turned out to be another well organized two day event by the Shuswap Trials riders - A Halloween Trial on Saturday, was followed by a big camp-fire party with fantastic cooking by the hosts. - Sunday the weather improved and everybody had a great time on the 2 loop 19 section course, which featured a lot of English style cambers & tight turns, with quite a few slippery logs to add to the mix. - A total of $480 was collected for the Cancer fund. full results can be seen here >www.trialscanada.com. and a gallery of pics here .> www.outlawtrials .com.
  24. This weekend October 26/27 will be a double -header Trial at Scotch Creek BC - Saturday will be a Halloween Trial, starting at 10.30am Costumes welcomed, then Sunday is the Ady Brown Memorial also starting at 10.30 am. - Directions - head up the hill after the pub in Scotch Creek, take the left at the top ( pink flagging on corner) then follow flags from there to the camp site. There will be a Porta Can on site for this WTC Sanctioned event, with entry being by donation to the Cancer fund. - All regular classes. info : ph Outlaw Dave (250) 308-7307 cell.
