  1. If you want to see a "Clean" Fantic Mr Clean - check out the front page of Trials Canada ! In fact it's your old one !!!
  2. Betarev3 - While most of the Trials bikes use the NGK BPR 5ES - The Beta comes stock with the cooler Champion N7YCC - This crosses over to a NGK BPR 7ES - I know many of you guys in the UK run the hotter plug but the factory really does know best - using the wrong plug can cause problems with the new electronic ignitions.

Hey Steve - The largest rear Beta Sprocket I show in my Talon Catalogue is a 55 which they list for a Synt 125. - This had a 56 Stock as did the 97 125 Techno - Is the stock one Talon ? - Does it have a number on it? Dai
  4. Check the petrol tap - to make sure fuel is coming from tank - you may have to remove the tap and cut some off the "standing pipe" which was a problem on some earlier models - an easy fix - check with Rathmells or look at the info on the RYP site.
  5. Wulfsport gear is excellent - the pants are "Baggy" for MX pads but the quality is second to none and last forever - Jackets are too warm for most Trials riders except maybe for the Scottish -
  6. Hi Leggins - As Steve says the "Take Five Club" in Winnipeg were quite active a few years ago ( around 1985-88) - Gary Hall was another name in the club. The only Trials rider that I know of from that Province is Bernard Neuhofer from Russell Manitoba - I sold him a Sherco a couple of years ago. - It's a long drive West to the nearest Trials events in either Alberta or BC.
  7. Welcome back Eric - Greatest sport on two wheels and - you don't HAVE to ride competition to enjoy your Trials bike - New bikes are like cheatin' - they will make you a star in no time. And Billy are you still aboot? or back South of the Border.
  8. Hey Grant - I stock Renthal Trials bars in all heights - the stock ones are 5" rise - you may want to go to a 6" rise as you are fairly tall - I do sell quite a lot of the higher bars to riders all over Canada. - you can contact me direct via email - daverhodes@shaw.ca - the bars are also listed on my website.
  9. Grant - The Techno Clutch should not drag at all if everything is set up right check with Kenco in Sooke - They are the Beta Dealers nearest you. - If no luck email me direct via my website. www.outlawtrials.com
  10. Where are you located ? - Sounds like it could be my side of the pond
  11. Hey Chris - Glad you & Hughy are coming - Check out the Trials Canada front page and also my website www.outlawtrials.com for all the latest info on the Trial - Gaz How are things? - I posted the pics you took last year at the Outlaw on my site - we are using that same creek but this year we will have 8 Expert sections up the creek ( maybe without a paddle) - last Friday it snowed while we were up on the Mountain - bit like Scottish weather - nice & warm now it was +30 in Vernon today - Worked on my 240 Fantic for the Twinshock event. - will send Andy pics of the Trial next week. Taff give me a call you if you need directions. - I'll route you by all the beer stores. - Hey Vintage Cota - look forward to seeing you - everybody has a blast at the Outlaw - give me a call or email if you need info
  12. Hi SHM - Lots of ex Pats in Vancouver and BC in general - many of whom still ride trials. - The Ioco area mentioned in another post have at least one Classic Trial per year & as Steve says they have a twin shock class at most of the Island events - We have the "Outlaw Series" which has a twin shock class with two lines. These events are held in BC with the last in Alberta. The Original Outlaw Trial that started this concept goes for the 20th year next weekend near Kamloops BC - approx 4hours from Vancouver - There is fantastic country to ride all over Canada and enthusiasts are only a click away. ( note! A Welsh Army lad won the Calgary Alberta Trial last Sunday) check out my website for more info www.outlawtrials.com
  13. Hey Mich - I was laying out a Trial a few years ago near Kelowna BC & had parked the bike for a minute while I hung a few ribbons - I was by myself and I had this funny feeling so I turned and looked around at the bush and saw the back & tail of a Cougar ( Mountain Lion) slink behind the thick bush - I ran to the bike praying it would start first kick which it did - and took off like a bolt from hell. - Chances are it would not have attacked me BUT with my heart going into overdrive ( I thought it was coming out my chest) at least I am around to tell the tale. - Another time while I was planning the loop for the 1975 Canadian World Round ( Which you rode) I stopped up on a ridge overlooking the Elbow River Valley again I was by myself ( Dumb but the work had to get done) While looking at the Valley below ( which you didn't see because it was all socked in on the day of the Trial)) Again I felt like I was being watched - sure as **** about 300 yds away was a Bob Cat sitting on a rock - soon as I caught his eye he slowly turned & wandered off. - Fantastic moments to remember in the great outdoors.
  14. Over a period of 38 years of riding the Mountains & bush of Western Canada, I've seen lots of the vaious animals that call this THEIR home - everything from Grizzly Bears, Blacks, lots of deer and quite a few Moose with the odd Cougar ( You rarely see these but they see you) Most animals will take off pretty quick if you use common sense & don't EVER get between a mother and her cubs. I did have a cow moose charge me a few years ago while riding ahead of the main group at the Outlaw Trial near Summerland BC - Suffice to say that I executed one of the fastest one foot pivit turns and did not dare to look back as I blitzed my Beta over huge boulders as I raced down the hillside, completely out of control. Yup! Never argue with a big Mommma and change your shorts often.
  15. If you drop a Trials bike the chances are you may break a lever no matter what they are made of. In defence of Sammy Miller I can tell you that I have been dealing with him for over 30 years and get the best service from him. If I order on a Friday I get the shipments the following Friday - via parcel post and I live in Canada ( Over 7,000 miles away) - Sammy does not suffer fools gladly ( that is a quote from somebody writing about the 11 time British Champion) - But then again neither do I - Cheers Outlaw Dave Vernon BC Canada

  18. Hey Ish At least they managed to get one good pic of you with your feet up The riding gear looks clean & smart too - must be getting ready for Scotland?
  19. Hey Cadman - Stock Rev are 5.1/2" rise but I find the 5" Renthal is perfect for me at 5ft 7" ( And shrinking fast with old age)

    Question

No there isn't any bad side effect as everything has been engineered for a perfect balance - this is not a new idea and it has been used successfully by BMW and other manufacturers. - The trick is getting the correct shock at the back. Beta have seemingly found the ultimate in their 2006 model, after carefully refining the Rev 3 for the past few years.
  21. I assume Andy will be flying via "Tiger Moth Airlines" and landing at the old Spitfire base at Rednal, just South of Morda?
  22. Good one Gaz ! - Hey Racing guy - Hate to break this to you but that RTX you bought is a real orphan - like they were not very good when brand new - they were manufactured in England from parts built in Russia and the whole business went absolutely nowhere. - I spoke to the owner at the UK World Round back in 1995, ( Mick Andrews had showed a bit of interest and suggested I look at them) - but the guy seemed disinterested in the Canadian market - However he sold a container of bikes to some guy in California, who in turn sold some to Stan Amor ( now involved with Maple Ridge Motorsports BC) Stan sold a few bikes to unsuspecting dealers - some of these did not even have the plastics with them. There was a dealer in Parksville who had a couple but he has since gone broke and now works at the Honda shop in Nanaimo. - Are you beginning to get the picture? Sorry to be the bearer of bad news - I sell Beta & Sherco out of Vernon BC and do ship parts to some riders on "The Rock" - Always glad to talk Trials so feel free to call anytime (250) 545-6139 -website www.outlawtrials.com.
  23. Hi MC - Yeah still a bit cold under the arm-pits - you can see some pics of us riding in the snow on my new web-site at www.outlawtrials.com - (hope Andy doesn't mind me posting this)
