  1. Taped to a can with my name clearly on - no fuel taken - no mistake I think - just deliberately taking advantage of the more organised ones out there. PS -Timp -stopped putting my fuel spout with my can a few years ago as these seemed to go missing by mistake too

    4Rt Stutter!

I have had 3 4rts that do this and a friend has a couple that are similar -if its just a moment then \I think this may be just a normal quirk. If worse check the earth lead from coil to frame. They can corrode and you can add extra earth wire from fro coil to engine bolt.
  3. only difference was some carbon, stickers and footrests. I think by 2008 they had stopped fitting the PTB
  4. join the club that is local to you so you can get involved in more than just turning up and riding. Once a member you can then ride any open trial be it centre, restricted or national. Some clubs may run closed to club trial in which case you will have to join that club but normally only a fiver or tenner so cheap in the grand scheme of things. there is no restriction to how many clubs you join Enjoy
  5. that looks a really useful well presented article - will have to study and digest
  6. Hi -not sure - I'm not sure if this is just Honda propaganda to allow them to fit a fuel pump assembly off a standard road bike -maybe I'm cynical.my 2015 std map is pretty good so probably RR is good to go as it come.
  7. case saver - first mod - mesh on vents in mudguard- 2nd mod - fill with fuel - 3rd mod. Search forums whilst you are waiting for van man but apart from above everything else is personal preference. My 260 2015 run was just gentle riding and building up revs with minimal pottering about. Ride strong but not abusive. Change oils and filters after a few hours but in reality clean as a whistle.
  8. presume you are starting the bike in neutral?
  9. minor whinge here but one that spoils all that's good with trials. Rode the jack wood Sunday -cracking Yorkshire trial -sections spot on and really well organised. 2 fuel stops - all arranged which is most appreciated these days. Put my 2 fuel cans in with a drink taped to each can for the organiser to carry to the designated spot. Top job I thought However got to fuel stop one -fuel there - no drink - half empty bottle in the bottom of the pile - thinks its my brand and same colour tape so had the remnants and carried on Surprise surprise same issue at the second stop I'm not sure what disappoints me the most - the fact we cant trust fellow riders, that fellow riders are deliberately tampering with our goods, that fellow riders have no respect for the efforts organisers go to on providing this facility or that fellow riders are that poverty bound that after spending their money on bikes, vans, gear, fuel etc. they cant afford £2 for 4 bottles of lidl pop that they have to steal somebody else's Maybe it was just a mistake but \I don't think so.
  10. bloomin heck john -you forgot chain lube tut tut.

    Ptb Mapping

You don't have to send a EFI body away, quick clean every 12 months job done. Not cleaning carb every few weeks. So is much easier. If you want to tweak you can but its not compulsory How many people can jet a carb to suit what they want, How many people swap carbs? With a PTB anybody can tweak the bike to suit how they want it to ride so you are missing a big point. Just down load a map and see if you like it. Worse case you pay to acquire the software and leads or you pay a nominal fee for somebody to swap maps. Best Best case your buddy does it for nowt PS The loss of a true gent who had trials at his heart is not a subject to joke over what ever the inaccurate technical point you are trying to get across. Bit like your entry fee post seems the general consensus seems to be get out and smell the coffee cos your talking from a point of weakness//ignorance (cant decide best description)

    Ptb Mapping

With total respect to a much missed Munch I have in the past happily changed maps for local riders/friends at no cost as it takes about 20 mins to swap maps. If you want something special then that's a different matter. I know other dealers offer to remap PTBs if you cant find a local friendly Mont fan who could help you out for the cost of a pint.

    not a subject for jest

    Ptb Mapping

    insensitive as well as unhelpful.
  15. Not aware of any benefits - all 3 of mine have had this mod - been on 4rt nearly 10yrs.
  16. Finish the breather under the head stock. Put white bottle in the bin Block the hole going into the air box Don't think I would take the pipe where you have indicated small filter is good idea. You can then take the relay of the bracket under the air box and fit it behind the headstock where the white tank came from
  17. Tis only bling but I got one Had mine of ebay recently - works spot on and multi colours. Didn't need to notch top of cap as breaths through the middle not the side. I have lost a couple in the past, seem to get caught by my jeans when dragging bike out of a possible big five. Only draw back with the short pipe is when marking out sections as the flag bag always knocks it off - will see how my latest button cap fairs with this years St Davids. Might be back to a bit of tube come mid may.
  18. That's the one - looked nice
  19. The Mitani is longer and thicker. My mate just had a nice one off Munch at M Sport. Italian make I think but looked a quality piece of kit
  20. Having had a twin map PTB on a couple of bikes and played with lots of maps -to be honest until you get in sections that are quiet extreme it is hard to tell the difference between maps. Cant see why the RR should be any difference. Suggest you use what feels to be the softness map until you find you are struggling for power then try the more extreme map.
  21. My Miitani has gone from 09 to 15 no problem and yes I am hard on bash plates. I'm pretty sure there is no difference 05 to 16 on hole centres for bash plate, just a fitting technique required to compress rubbers cushions. I have seen some H&D ones bend very easy but cant comment personally. I had a bespoke one made for my 05 which as a little wider to protect water pump, extended under footrest and also linkage. I had it made from thicker material and made sure alloy spec was correct - tough but not too malleable
  22. Cheers Matt Got a new 2015 last year but put my old PTB on it. Had a couple of instance of when going for a big handful it started missing - will try a stop to see of its that.
